It's not really about making the game tragic, it's just the way the alternate paths work. You can't be there for Elin and Juliet if you are out of the village with Marie. Ever since I have expanded Marie's story to be a day long thing, these choices have become alternate paths with different rewards/consequences.
I also don't want there to be a meta way to play the game, where you get everything, making other paths irrelevant. I want every path to have it's own unique benefits to keep all paths viable, so every player can play the content they want without feeling like they are getting less than others.
It's true that the MC cannot be in the village with Elin & Juliet, and at the same time outside with Marie.
But there could always be some solutions to go back to the camp with the Juliet & Marie:
- If the MC stays in the village, Marie could be kidnapped by the rogue mercenaries (after all she is pretty, they surly want to have fun with her). And she could be rescued along with Elin & Juliet.
- If the MC spends the night with Marie, it's a bit more twisted. But maybe, as Elin & Juliet have experienced the same torments, they cling to each other and refuses to leave each other. And staying in the village brings back too many horrible memories to Juliet, who doesn't want to stay there anymore.
However, I understand you want to have different paths with different "rewards".
It's just that at first, what drew my attention to your game was the 2 tags "Female protagonist" & "Lesbian".
When I learn that for now there are only two girls to romance, I knew I would have to focus on them.
Then I learn that Juliet could have a romance with Elin, and I found that really great. That there could be a plot for 2 NPC to have a love story. That not all turn around the MC. It's not common in adult & porn game, where generaly, the MC is the center of attraction of all the NPC. I found it would flesh out the Elin NPC. And as I wrote before, I found very appealing that the MC and her sister may each have a lesbian love story.
So my goal became to get Juliet for Elin, and Marie for the MC.
But then you kill my mood, we can't have both...
But I should survive. And I promise to not to throw a big tantrum, and to not roll around on the floor crying and hitting the ground with my fists.
