I honestly don't see the point to all this, you guys did this before; Honestly we should talk what we hope for Gwen, I'd also like some suggestions for what I can pitch to Oni but I'm more talking art-wise, dialogue, any edits to clothes etc I'm not going to ask to add your character, new mechanics, new poses just keep it simple-ish so there's a chance it gets added by Oni.
I want her to be extremely annoying, no matter with breaking of the 4th wall or without it

I think the girls in general need more interactions instead of pumping out new girls. The whole Halloween act was lame and the costumes lazy. When will the developer let the modded guys help the prime guy for example putting everyone to shame.
2 years ago we had butt plug mods, mystique lots of hair color options new dresses, goths, and any costume! You name it.
This is a discgrace. We will all die of old age before something is done.

Not to mention that all the girls except the new ones Jubs,Storm are the only ones with actual story/dialouge. They do become carboards after a while but it sucks that Kitty,Laura, Emma, slut Jean have no unique dialogue options. I've dreamt longer fan fics then the dialouge and character arks here. It's kinda sad that i have the old mods and they are so cool and we cant use them here anymore aka Goth laura, emma kitty, rogue.

My point is Give the community the ability to mod and add custom clothes without being a 300iq wizzard. its not that hard. You improve the game and it becomes more popular and you can still release new girls. We both win so what gives?

You have bdsm kitty, goth laura, slave rouge, class whore emma etc but nooo the mods are not supported :(

I hope you guys get my points and we can get mods again. 1521746_Laura_M_D.png Custom laura pose.png Custom laura Alice Dress.png Custom laura pose.png Chart.png

Wait, why are we talking about Cyclops having to contend against Wolverine? And him having her locked in to him?

Evo Jean had zero interest in Wolverine and he had no interest in her, as far as I remember. The one Jean had an actual interest in, and actually was the girlfriend of, was the non-mutant school jock. And I remember everyone (mutant) in the show seemed to ship her and Cyclops unless they themselves were interested in one of the two or had zero interest in shipping. Save for Jean herself, hilariously.

My point is Give the community the ability to mod and add custom clothes without being a 300iq wizzard. its not that hard. You improve the game and it becomes more popular and you can still release new girls. We both win so what gives?
Point is, the code is terrible. Prime himself said before, to make a mod to add a single extra option of a compliment and an answer would mean rewriting 340 lines of code.

From a single glance that someone shared here (I don't have the mental fortitude to read the code itself from the source recently, really need to go to a psychiatrist for antidepressants soon) it seems like Oni is playing 4d chess in trying to make complex coding purely out of ren'py's internal pseudo-code instead of using python that it also allows. Objects and arrays could have saved lots of work if he tried learning it.

This is why mods are so hard to make.

What we can hope is that the big changes in the next version, since he made it seem like it will be mostly internal, will be usage of better coding so, among other things, his own future additions and mods can be done more easily.

Go be the change you wish to see lad.
I've been dragging my feet on making my own version of Powered Stranger using koikatsu graphics, actually.

...Okay, seriously. How long has this been a thing?

Or more realistically, fan art inspired by the game, which is perfectly fine with me after seeing Laura X American McGee's Alice just now.

My ideal road map for Gwen would be to have her be meta throughout her intro, but once she realizes she's stuck in the game she decides to play along and pretends to be a regular mutant at the school. And of course Zero has possible replies like "what the fuck are you talking about" anytime she says anything meta

Yeah, it is cool to see this debate happening. I've been enjoying everyone's posts a lot so far.

However, there are a few factors that you need to consider with Shadow-Cat.

  • Shadow-Cat is in the X-Men. Like it or not, they, the Brotherhood of Mutants, and all their collective powers, would indeed keep whatever "uber-thotness latent attitude" she has within her in check. In both the show and the Evolution sex-game.
  • In the sex-game proper, she can be worn down, and made to like you. But, I think, that in both the game and the show, this would only happen if you happen to be a very well-trained (Batman-levels of capability, no joke) very muscular, and, if lacking in looks, would make up for it with severe savagery during Danger Room sessions or Brotherhood Fights. It's high school football, and you need to be the ultimate quarterback, even if she was nice (due to the reasons I listed above)
  • Notice how, in the show, she didn't really go for anyone she considered geeky? Even Rogue, the nice one, didn't show feelings for anyone besides Cyclops, Angel (whom I refer to as "Archangel"), and Gambit? All very good-looking. And, Cyclops more or less proves my point, I think.
  • Why? Because Cyclops, aside from his eye-blasts, has no additional strength or speed--unless there's some sort of power where his optic blasts overload his body to point of temporary superhuman ability during very short bursts of time during combat.
  • Cyclops, is, more or less, the Quarterback Prime on this team. No one really went for Wolverine. Why? In the 90's show, he was the most savage one, and even then, Jean only sometimes reluctantly said she loved him before going back to Cyclops. Same with the films, as well.
  • But even then, Cyclops had to outthink, and outfight, Wolverine on some level.
  • Yes, I know Jackman Jacked is better looking than everyone, but in the film, Cyclops was, for better or worse, the leader, the one who kept an aloof and cool attitude, especially under pressure, and wasn't afraid to take on Wolverine (in the comics, films, or show) if he felt that Wolverine was getting too close.
  • "Stay away from my girl."
  • Everyone overlooks Cyclops, but the fact that he had Jean more or less locked in place (in her psyche, ironically enough anyway), made him the leader that no one messed with.
  • He had to train, and train, and train to the point where he would try to take on the Danger Room, even without his powers. He had to be more savage, than the savage king, Wolverine, in order to keep the girl.
  • Jean is very hard to keep. In the sex-game, the show, and the films, she was always very hard to keep with Cyclops in any all scenarios. Cyclops even went to see Jean when she was in her Phoenix form, and it cost him his life.
  • Zero is a player stand-in for Cyclops, for better or worse. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
  • Sex-Game Jean: "I know I was good in the Danger Room. But you sucked out there. It's almost as if your power is useless against robots."
  • Zero: A man who give ZERO FUCKS.
  • ROGUE'S ASS
Now, I'm completely outclassed in lore about comics and shit, so I know of this characters as characters from this game mainly (I mean, I knew about them from movies I watched as a pup and a loose episode of Evolution where Rogue got some power thing and defeated a big ole mf, Juggernaut or whatever. I've always been much more of a Teen Titans guy). So I don't know how useful this advise might be, but try to perceive both this game's and source characters as separate entities. Clearly here characters and interactions among them don't have the complexity from the og source, so applying, let's say, RLE Kitty the personality flaws she may have in the comics (which, based on recent images shared, seem to be more fetishistic than the porn parody) without them being specifically portrayed in the game, seems a little unecessary, maybe even cherry-picky.

Regarding your analysis of her behavior towards Zero and everyone else, remember she starts by being politely friendly yet somewhat distant. Like any normal real human. She doesn't let you in her room at the beginning, doesn't take gladly you gifting her the swimsuit, etc. And it's often shown how every girl here can beat Zero's ass if things went to throwing hands territory (whenever you try to force a girl into something, or deny them from your touch when their addiction is too high). So Zero is, at best, a good looking, perhaps charismatic, but pretty average chap. No contest testoterone wise when placed against quarterback Cyclops or bad daddy Wolverine.
However, she gets along with everyone, and she's the one to gift Laura the Wolvie outfit, even if pitching in money from various people, the idea and choice were hers. I see some good heart in there.

Lastly, your observation of how the characters interact and feel atracted to eachother reminds me of Twilight levels of adolescence. Which is probably where the writers were aiming at. It being a fantasy setting, it's fair to say everyone is hot as hell, so it's just a matter of preference, from the aloof to the goof. Although it seems obvious that the guy who displayed a stronger leadership would also be the most popular among the chicks, in a clear Petersonian description of archetypes and whatnot. And, among the bunch in the game, Kitty is the least experienced in sex stuff bar Rogue, so she seems to be a bit reserved in that regard, thus why she doesn't "go" for anyone. A funny quirk I remember from her in the game is that, with low stats, if you're studying in the room, after the session she leans a little onto you and that opens the sex menu so you can kiss, or massage her, whereas she'd reject you if you directly asked her to hand-hold around.
XAVIER'S FEET.

Meta stuff is only fine in moderation unless it is a big plot point for a game.

For example, here in Brazil there is a comic book... group called Monica's Gang, with side-comics for most of the main characters plus for a character that lives in a rural area so is kept separate from the rest.

They are fully aware that they live in a comic book. Yet they are fully aware they live in a comic book.

They joke how their every birthday is their sixth one. They complain to the creator of the series about the situation they are in. They avoided being hit with stuff by hanging on to the top border of the panel. Many characters are inspired by the creator's children, and one minor character, named after a daughter that later became an artist and writer for it, ends up making her drawings come to life and everyone has to help fix the problems that causes. Sometimes they end the story by putting the end card themselves.

Those are most of the time limited to one-off gags.
The birthday joke is mentioned just once in some of the birthday-related stories, in one panel, and it is ignored and the story goes on. Complaining to Mauricio is kept only for the most absurd of situations. Holding on to the panel, ending the story, they are one-off gags that just take advantage of being a comic but are not repeated a lot or linguered on upon. Marina, the drawing character, just likes to draw and is really annoyed whenever her powers (which no one remaks upon) are involved in a story, be as a cause, a possible solution or even a small gag.

For two reasons:
1- meta jokes cannot be repeated all the time, or they lose their fun. Most jokes, really.
2- as mentioned before, despite them being aware they live in a comic book they live there. It is a fact of life for them, since they were six years old, so why would they make absurdities out of it?

...
And there was the time there was a Monica's Park comic series, where they visited the Monica's Gang Theme Park and just... hanged out. Yes, it was their park, but neither they nor no one else acted as if that was in any way special.
Like if there was a Disney comic series similar to House of Mouse but instead of a club, it was Disney World Resort... and now I'm imagining that House of Mouse is a club the "workers" go at night to stop pretending they are actors instead of the real deal.

#0 and #1 are... well, they suck, but it gets better, promise.

Her omnibus is about to come out by the way, even if Unbelievable Gwenpool is the only book worth reading.

If Cyclops can be trained to a high enough level where he can at least hold his own against anyone--with or without his powers--then it stands to reason that Zero might have a chance to do the same thing as well.

Sure, but no black belt chick ever sees a white belt fella and says "omg, look at his POTENTIAL. Aight Imma drop my panties".

What about when Kitty flips Zero over?

I'm telling you, this is the X-Men version of the classic female shit test.

When was that? I can't remember that happening atm. Or maybe it's linked to an option I almost never choose.
When you choose certain dialogue options with Shadow-Cat during your first meeting, she flips you over if you hug her.

Personally, I don't think a hug warrants that type of response in any situation -- perhaps a push and a fast retreat at best.

I just did a quick check and when you pull her in for a hug, she elbows you in the ribs, not flip you (granted you aren't to flirty in Prime mod, because then you'd get to kiss her straight up with no downside). I don't see nothing wrong with that, it's totally reasonable to respond with such a degree of aggresiveness when you're a girl and a guy you know nothing of other than he can negate your powers tries to forcefully hug you without you letting in that you'd want that.
I mean, I'm a guy, and if another man tried to hug me in such a way I'd also respond similarly.
