The game looks really good - great job archipote. (y),

Only one brief question - what is the update schedule (because it does have a lot of pics)?
Hey, thanks mate ! Right now i'm aiming for a release by mid-September at the latest. There's a lot to do for Chapter 2, but subsequent updates will come more quickly once this one is out (normally), since it introduces quite a few new features!

Some feedback after giving this game a try:
Well, first of all, it's not really a game, it's an event hunt, with the occasional puzzle in the way. Since there are no battles there is also no character advancement. The only equipment is what the main character is wearing, but the stats don't seem to matter. And all level does is block off one side quest.

Speaking of events, once an event is unlocked in the gallery you can no longer tell which event it is without watching it. This is fine if a character has only one event, but for characters with multiple events it can be a problem.

Contrary to what the Developer Notes claim most of the maps are largely empty, with little to find. The starting city is where most of the current content is, then there's the second city you go to during the main quest. All the other maps... seem quite empty with barely any events.

The writing is probably the weakest part of this VN. The main characters seem to do whatever the quest or event requires of them, so they don't have any real personality. Several times I found myself skipping through the text without reading because I just didn't care. The humor... well, it's there... some of the jokes were funny, but most were just there and I had forgotten them five seconds after reading them.

The pictures used are hot. That is probably the best part.

I might check again in an year or two, but for now I am done. Good luck with your game.

P.S.: Since the goal is to find as many events as possible it might be a good idea to add a warning that certain decisions (such as not building a casino) lock off some events.

how to get all the armor? are there any cheat?
There's no in game cheat no, but you can get all the armor fairly easily. You can get two armors by finishing the main quest, two armors in the two quests of the two houses at the top right of Roselake, one armor in the casino brothel of Reigns and one armor by removing the outfit of Siera in the menus

A few more bugs:
1) You can walk on the wall here. Just approach from above.

2 Various events in the "gallery" are bugged. Some directly start replaying, without asking if you want to replay them. Others, like this one:
Roselake2.png
work only if you are wearing the correct outfit - but you are not told which outfit it is.

3) The outfit "Tenue de Pirate" cannot be taken off once equipped.

No idea, all I know is that in save 8 I don't have it, and in save 9 I have three copies of it. I have attached the two saves, in case you can figure out what I did.

Hi ! I hope you haven't forgotten about the game yet, because next update is 95% finished, at last !

Tho it's only the french version for now. So what are the plan ahead?

First, tomorrow or on Monday, i'll release the french beta version to a small number of people, to catch on some bugs, check that the update as a whole is pleasant to navigate, etc.

After that, I'll work on the translation. At first, I thought it would take me less time than the first update, because it was aimed to be shorter. Well, I was totally wrong! This update has approximately the same number of words (give or take 5,000) as the first update. BUT, obviously, my work rate won't slow down, so I'll be working on it 10 hours a day every day until I can finally deliver it.

Once the translation is complete, there will be a new beta test, after which the update will be released first on patreon, and then a few days later on F95zone (really few, since the last update was out for almost two months now. I'll release it like 3-4 days after)

Thank you all for your patience, and I hope you'll find it has been well rewarded!

In a few numbers, this update includes 120+ new images (which is similar than the first update if you take out the outfit variations from that one), 50k~ words, 30~ events, each of which rewards the player with a scene (and sometimes a surprise).

How many hours of gameplay? We'll find out after the first beta test! I'll be sure to keep you fully informed of any first feedback from the players.

In the meantime, I wish you all a very pleasant weekend!

Hello everyone! Just a quick update to explain that the plans have changed.

Since the release of the last update, I've been working really hard on the update. And while the idea was clear at first, it quickly became diluted into a game I currently do NOT like.

Why not? Because I made some simple rookie mistakes.

Instead of making the game, the update I wanted to make, I focused far too much on what I thought was what players would want me to do.

This resulted in choices I didn't like, things I would have liked to do but didn't, and on top of all that, I set myself a deadline for the game's release. Why did I do that? Because that's what everyone does.

You always start by copying others, you understand. So I said to myself that I had to release at least one update every month, then every two months, and that's when I started thinking "shit, I'm late" as if I had EA threatening to cut me off if I didn't meet the deadline.

In short, the result is a botched update that I have no desire to present. That's why I made the simple decision to change tack and do what I wanted to do, and keep working as hard as i did but for as much as i want this time.

I liked to say a couple of months ago that I was making this game for you first then me, but in the end I realize that my frame of mind was clearly not the right one. I want to make this game for me first and foremost. I want it to please me first, and then share it with other people who might like it.

As for the Patreon, it will be put on pause, and will resume 4 days AFTER the release of the update. If you don't like it, you'll still have time to unsubscribe before donations resume.

Many thanks to all those who support me on Patreon and elsewhere, and I only hope that the wait will be worth it! At least, I'll make sure it's worth it for me!

I absolutely agree that your new approach is the correct one. The game can easily succeed even if some players lose interest; it cannot possibly survive if the developer loses interest.

Make a game that you are enthusiastic about, and that will show in the game itself and attract more interest.

This might have been fixed already, but just in case:
DebugEvent.png
This girl seems to be a debug event that you forgot to remove. Interacting with her adds the Tenue de Pirate outfit.

Some feedback after giving this game a try:
Well, first of all, it's not really a game, it's an event hunt, with the occasional puzzle in the way.
I've seen way too many games die because the devs took criticism like this to heart and then started packing their game with unnecessary mechanics. (Miss you, Proteus Effect!)

A "game" is any entertainment that provides participants with a challenge with variable outcomes. And yes, the "challenge" can be as simple as figuring how how to minimize the time spent reaching the payoff (e.g., an event hunt), and missing an event can count as a variable outcome.

Another thing to keep in mind is that adult games are a different genre from mainstream games, very similar to how romantic comedies are different from war movies.
  • Mainstream games are focused on the challenge. The rewards are not the point of winning football matches or beating levels in an FPS or running raids in an MMO for a +1 upgrade. The journey is the reward in those games. Just like in a war movie, where "peace" or "victory" are claimed to be the point but get like ten seconds of discussion at the end of the movie.
  • Adult games are about payoffs, and thus delaying gratification. (I think a game like Karryn's Prison is the rare exception -- the challenge is adult content -- that proves how consistent the rule otherwise is.) As with a romantic comedy, the audience is there to watch a predictable outcome take shape; the challenges along the way are just a delay in gratification.
Different genres, but still a game or movie.

So I'd encourage the dev to keep up with their event hunt game. Delaying gratification as much as the payoff permits is all the genre requires. Sure, games have used many ways to delay gratification -- grinding stats, requiring replays due to false paths/gameovers, tests of skill, etc. -- but exploring is perfectly valid.
