RPGM - Completed - Roundscape Adorevia [v6.8 Steam] [Arvus Games]

I really wanted to like this game. I have never thought RPGM was used well in adult games. This one didn't change my mind. I feel like I spent so much time for so little return, be that in rewarding gameplay, good writing, or quality smut. I don't really want to waste too much more time on this game so I will give a brief list of some of my most memorable moments. The even shorter version is: this game falls into every mistake of other RPGM games but without the story or the polish. However, spicy tip, the debugging tool can unlock every scene in the game. I have no idea how to access the gallery. If you do though, going through each scene in a menu one by one and unlocking them by hand is more fun than this game.

The LIST:
-I forgot to save before entering a new area. There was an enemy too tough for me, so I died pretty quickly, booted to menu, lost about 20 minutes of progress.
-The above happened, but 3 more times.
-I spent 5 minutes or so wondering if I had recieved the wolf pelt quest. I tried debugging, there was no option for npc not talking. Checked my quest log, no mention of wolves. Killed some wolves, got no pelts (as the quest giver described). Looked in another area for wolves. Went back to the original spot and killed more until I got a quest completed notification.
-Using guard and basic attack for 5 minutes against a 1500 health bull. It only ever attacked one character so there was no challenge, just a 20 damage per attack slog.
-Reloading several times while fighting a warlock that I couldn't damage. Turns out I was damaging him but he had a second, invisible health bar. Then I did this two more times because I accidentaly skipped through the dialogue after the fight. There was no save point in between.
-Seeing 3 very well drawn pairs of boobs. Not a bad experience. However that was pretty much all of the sexual content I encountered in an hour and a half.
-Getting stuck by an empty campfire area because of a group of soldiers right by the exit. I probably could've beat them, but at this point I was tired of the combat so I just exited to main menu and reloaded my save.
-A pretty funny line of dialogue while slandering the shop owner. Ultimately had to reload my save to do that quest properly. The funny option didn't seem to have any rewards.
-In every sex scene there was a very verbose description over a black screen. Probably well written, but I felt like it broke up the pace a little too much. By the time I grind 30 enemies I don't really crave the suspense of a long text before getting to see the action.
-I got one shotted by a genie in a random sconce that I clicked on. That was pretty cool. Not even being sarcastic. I really wanna know why he was in there.
-Felt excited because I found a cabin somewhere off the beaten path. I found some loot I didn't know how to use and fought a bunch of bats. I really started to get disappointed at this point.
-Looking all over the place for 15 minutes or so for a place to camp. Didn't find it. Looked online, no help. Uninstalled

Adding to what many low star reviews on this thread have stated regarding the state of the game between the bugs lack of proper choices and terrible mechanics that do nothing but waste your time, I would like to call out a lot of the problems this games have in terms of companion bloat and combat.

You get a huge list of companions so many best way to describe them is as wide as an ocean as deep as a puddle. You will not use the majority of companions in this game because of how utterly boring they are and useless in terms of combat they become. So many companions are just thrown at your feet so early on its a headache to deal with.

The skill set/variety is so small that you might as well play skyrim and mash the quick attack button, is unimaginative and simple which is very bad for an rpg game this long. The perks do nothing but make you an overpowered beast with so many strong passives you might as well be a god in battle and just rush the bosses.

In short boring/simple combat, forgettable companions and not much to keep you entertained till the end.

Love this game. Honestly even though its an rpgmaker game its really done well and has lot of 'content'. That aside the rpg aspect is not bad at all. Wish there were more Spheres, Glyphs, Orbs, etc. though. Even more perks would be cool. Maxed it early. Currently in v5.3b the gallery is still buggy but a nice feature. Cant wait for more updates.

Great game with a lot of content. I played it couple of years ago and it never gets boring to start from scratch. Weird thing is that I got almost to an end but was still at act 1. Might have been already fixed since then

One of the best (in not) RPGM games, ALOT of content for both male/female protagonist, huge variety of content from vanilla to bestiality.
Quest that doesn't have sexual content are very interesting and it's just very fun to play.
Just love it, and it still getting updates!

It'll seem like a quality game at the start, but unfortunately it ends up as a train wreck. Other reviews will talk plenty about the bugs, crashes, poor writing, etc. I agree with all of that. I got nearly to the end of this version of the game, farther than I would've thought if only because I thought it'd get better. Unfortunately, the further you go, the issues only get worse. I'll talk about two other issues that haven't really been spoken of.

The illusion of choice. A lot of games with some more extreme content will allow you to toggle it off. Well, there's bestiality and the girls fucking other dudes in this game, and here's your usual choices in the game for this: You get to choose whether you watch it or not, not whether it happens. The times you do have control over it happening? You tend to get punished for it via reductions in affection and whatnot, as if you're making the 'wrong' choice. This bothers me because it feels like the fetish is being pushed on the player with the number of girls wanting to participate in it.

Balancing. You will end up using the characters you have the best equipment available for, because the game doesn't offer a variety of equally strong weapons at once, but rather, it will occasionally make available a weapon for only one character that makes them 5-10x stronger than the others. The very first case of this happening doesn't happen very far in the game, where you can purchase axes for a character that's many times stronger than any other equipment available to everyone else.

This game could be great, but something keeps getting in the way.
Nice lore and history of the world, supplemented by various notes, books and character commentaries.
A ton of bugs when playing as a female character. Completing quests in different ways does not disable the ability to accidentally go through the same quest several times, completely breaking the game and your save. "Good" characters with high morale get a huge boost to damage in the early stages of the game, thanks to the ability to take a pair of very good swords. The quality of 2d sex scenes constantly floating from the level of "three-year-old child painting" to the level of Incase, Sakimichan or AromaSensei. This inconsistency is very annoying.
Some of the companion characters seem to be deliberately pushed aside, left without story or h-content, while Meredith has a ton of both.
The quest log does not work. Gallery is bugged like the first version of Cyberpunk 2077.
The latest update with a brothel is a complete BS.
P.S. Game has a ton of scenes, where you watching your favourite chicks getting f'ked by the others. Also, it has poorly drawned futa on male scenes. If it is not your thing- don't play it, if it is- better be find another game of this kind.

this game is full of content no doubt the only few issues i have is not enough upgrades for castle its always dark in about everyroom and being doesnt really feel like your being evil or corrupt cause everyone goes along with it anyway and npc dont matter so if u screw with them it doesnt matter

This game is too good for a porn game, free movement and the mini map on the left really this is a better of a good fighting game and has good story, the developer must be good at games, regarding this game it has good art and sex scripts It is Immersive if you put the character at your perspective , I really Enjoyed it hopefully more content in the future.

Three words: Buggy. As. Fuck.

Alright, now that I've got that out of the way:

The Good:
-Combat is halfway decemt

-The lore is hashed out and they put a lot of thought into this world

-Most of the characters are interesing

-The story is pretty interesting

The Bad:
They bit off more than they could chew with this and the result is more bugs than an anthill:

-The quest log doesn't work

-Some of the quests don't work (including one of the companion recruitment quests)

-Some of the quests just plain won't start even when you meet all the conditions

-Characters go missing

And the worst part: the bugs aren't even consistent. I completed a quest during one playthrough. but in another the quest stopped working midway through. Same version of the game, but something just broke for seemingly no reason.

Also: unavoidable NTR. This game isn't so much a harem simulator as a poly simulator, as all your party members fuck all of the others, oftentimes without the PC's involvement.

The Ugly
Rather than fix any bugs, the latest update (5.2) introduced mechanics to build up your characters brothel, and you do it through...

Drumroll please...

A FUCKING GACHA!!!!

Seriously. You buy persuasion points from the brothel's madam, find the girl you want to recruit, then play a minigame that consists of picking three random cards and hoping you win. That's it. That's the mechanic.

Instead of fixing any of the many things wrong with their game, they added gambling.

I mean... fuck!

Frustrating game, only because it could be so great . The art averages from weird to incredible, the gameplay is not really all that balanced - but it has good characters, an interesting story and all kinds of variety. Still can't get simple things like a gallery right, but at the end of the day, it deserves 4 stars for ambition and mostly executing that ambition

Good

- A TON of content for both a male and female PC with lot's of choice.

- A big world and story

- An origin system that does actually have a decent amount of unique scenes

- A good variety of fetishes

- Some good art

Bad

- The writing has a lot of mistakes and outside sex scenes is just ok but get's the job done.

- There's some really poor art in it

- Some stuff is just broken and there's mistakes with characters recognizing how previous interactions went.

- There's a big disparity in content with companions. There's not much with Xyless, Carys, Katelyn, Zent, Galhart, or Roderick when compared to say Meredith. Some companions got a LOT more focus than others.

Despite it's flaws it's somehow still better than 90% of the games on this site. On the whole it's a really enjoyable game but with some really annoying sloppiness that brings down the experience especially as it feels the rough edges were avoidable or are fixable.

This is a great game as a standard RPG and to add the icing on top, it also has H-content. That being said, Devs obviously need to tidy this game up and make something else awesome, It's been in a completed state for at least a year now but they promised expansion content and so as of the time of this review, they've added 2 what I assume are complete expansions and are adding in the 3rd and hopefully final expansion unless this game is going to be one that they just keep expanding on.

Good, solid game. Loads of content, fun quests, decent combat elements.

Artwork is generally good. It's all 2D, more traditional looking stuff and there are zero animations. A few different artists, I think, just by looking at the styles. A lot of H-Scenes are just one or two still images, with some panning and zooming going on. And LOADS of text. Most of the sex in this game is described, not shown.

A few small glitches that didn't really impact gameplay much. The big one is that the Quest Log doesn't seem to update properly. At a certain point in the game - about the end of 'ACT I' IIRC, it just stops. Completed quests stay listed as active and new quests don't show up. But that's just the log, it doesn't affect the actual play.

And just a warning: LOADS of watching your (The MC's) favourite chicks get nailed by others. Like... loads. If that's not your thing, this may not be for you.

Lets start with the gameplay, truth be told there's really not much to it.

• Quests are typical for a RPGM game. Kill that, fetch this, oh this dungeon has a floor puzzle (I think there were two to three dungeon puzzles in my 20 hour run).
• Castle upgrades, which are really just tossing money for higher variables and a few more zones for you to religiously check every time you come back to the castle.
• Perks. You get one perk point per level which you spend similarly to castle upgrades.
• Equipment customization and forge gacha. You get crystal drops which you can use in the castle's forge for a random equipment gem, all equipment can hold multiple gems. The system is honestly pretty neat, but it's presence means that balancing combat is nearly impossible and it shows.
• Lockpicking. Most, of the few, chests you find will require a lockpicking minigame. I personally don't find it enjoyable, had enough of that back in 2011 thank you very much.

World/maps

• There is one collectible item, shards. If you are a perfectionist this means your first order of business on any new map is combing the entire thing to see if it has a shard or not.
• Besides chests, and things with glowing stars above them there's nothing to interact with in the world, which is a shame because the little things you can find/learn while spamming z on objects is really something RPGM shines at.
• Occasional long loading screens and lag.
• There are several map assets with no-walk zones far larger than they should be. Trees are the main offenders.

Menu/interface

• A grand majority of items completely lack an item description.
• Several quests aren't listed in the quest log. If you care about a quest be sure to pay attention to the dialogue.
• Castle/perk upgrades are only usable with the mouse. It is oddly annoying when you spend the rest of the game with your hands on the keyboard.

Writing

• Ranges from bland, lore dumping, to discount hentai.
• A few missing letters and typos here and there.
• There were several instances where dialogue made sense on it's own, but not when applied to the context it pertained to.
• Sex writing is very descriptive, so much so that sex scenes become downright boring if you don't find the fetishes involved hot.

Characters

• Companions are generally interesting at first.
• MC's personality is shaped via kind, neutral, and snarky responses to things similar to Bioware games. While this is great for a typical role playing game in a sex game I kind of feel like a ghost in a swinger's castle.

Sex and Smut (It's what we're all here for and you know it)

• As stated under writing, the descriptions can drag on. There's only so much I can read about people undressing and moving about before I smash the advance button.
• The 'free love', for lack of a better term, and a majority of the fetishes didn't appeal to me. I advise everyone to get a solid understanding of the content before sinking your teeth into this.
• The elf told MC she was going off birth control potions and I was trying like mad to get sex scenes and impregnate her. After a couple of anal scenes she somehow got knocked up.
• I completely avoided another character, ten hours of gameplay since the last scene with her she told MC she decided to go off of birth control and was now pregnant.

Overall I don't feel that the time spent playing this was well spent. It's just not for me.

overall it's good. but I hate that "a paladin's pledge" shit. my character leveled up two times during that quest by killing spiders and couldn't complete it. no matter how accurately you follow the map, you cant complete the quest. just one stupid quest that makes you hate the whole game

Some spoilers

This was one of the best games of it's kind I have played so far. The storylines were extremely engaging sidequests were plenty with rewarding H-scenes.

Companions and NPC's had a lot of personality and dialogue. Overall the world felt extremely large with a lot of variety.

It also makes you decide whom to let live and whom to kill, which at times felt like genuinely difficult choices to make because of the game's immersiveness.

I used the cheat for a lot of the battles and used the cheat mod to edit the affection so that some of the companions. Some of the combat can feel repetitive but each fight was exciting and well balanced, requiring some planning.

The 'Average' score is just that; the in-betweeny mark of a game with great pros and fucking obnoxious cons.

Art's a collaborative effort of an entire community; quality swings wildly from unaltered stock RPG Maker assets to wonderful SFW images (world map), brilliant porn and very-not-so-brilliant porn.

Writing is just as inconsistent. This game seems to lack any overarching production lead, and bits of both the plot and the porn events feel like modular scenarios bolted on randomly because their themes were big at the time. Fluency is okay, dialog is okay, but the tone of the presentation varies so wildly it turned me off. Even the game's coding got in on the same train to Inconsistentville with bugs, logic and continuity errors, and placeholders time forgot. Also regarding the writing; glib portrayals of suicide and tragedy obliviously bookended by lackluster humor and unconvincing sex scenes are a hardcoded immediate star loss for me.

The porn content also irritated me at times. I quit counting scenarios that started off promising and hot only to seem to deliberately tease then avoid my kinks.

TLDR: I check this every year or two just to see if it's gotten better, but at this rate I'll never find it worth dropping money on.

Well what can I say about a classic? This thing has been going on for ages and is so huge even Mandingo the porn star would be jealous.
Basic premise is be a girl or boy and you have 5 different origin stories you can choose from.

You set off on a quest to defeat the Orc God Murkal. Along the way you have a HUGE amount of followers you can attract, including a succubus, an Orc, and Elf, A red girl with a cock, a tentacle monster, a naive corruptible ginger alchemist and a horny sarcastic skull on a stick.

You also have the option to play what you want, I personally prefer to be a female necromancer. But you can be a ranger, a paladin etc etc etc. You also have different ways of dealing with the situations you are presented. It's one of those rare games where you can play it for so long you get so immersed in that world and characters. That can be a good thing, or bad....if you have a wife or husband that wants you to do things in the real world.

Combat is standard RPGM fare, the erotic scenes are CG with text and, this is where some people may complain, are a rag-tag of different artists and styles. As the project became more and more succcessful they hired different artists. So as you play the art gets better!

Come on this is a classic, you owe it to yourself to have a play, No! Not that kind! I mean download and play the game!

While, I'm giving this game a 3 stars. I don't think Roundscape Adorevia is a bad game nor average game. I think it's pretty good and I already sunk a lot of my time playing this game. The game has a nice drawing character and they're fun to interact with and this game probably cover you fetish.

However this game also has a fair share of flaw. The biggest problem in this game is "bug" and there are ton of them. You can't complete this, The character go missing, The screen turn black, Game Freeze etc etc.

Another complaint, I has is H-Scene. The art is mixbag. Some are good, Some are okay-ish and some are hideous but I do understand that the game take very long time to develop and the dev doesn't have much money at that time.

Overall, decent game but you may feel frustate from time to time.
