are we close to playtesting/release?
I would love to say yes, but I can't (I am assuming close would be imminent). Frustrating as it is to wait. When you have as many branches as we do, it has been a bloody nightmare to make sure that they all tie up correctly, so that the first release makes sense and the choices made continue to be relevant when you get to the next locations on the journey. Our writer has been connecting all the dots, some of which were wrong in the original game, or are for paths we are/are not doing which need to be corrected, or are completely new (we have at least 2 brand new sections for the first update, plus a short prelude which is being "shot" as I write this).

We had a meeting last night. One of the last things to do before testing starts is to code the score into the game. That is mine and Riam's job. As it stands right now, as long as our dear writer meets his deadlines, then I should be starting that coding in about 2 weeks (hopefully less). I have zero clue how long that will take but going by the other games' scores I have coded, it should not be too long. Yes, I would dearly love to put a time on that, but as we all know in this business, deadlines are often not met.

Not to sound like a broken record, but the game will come out
Giving how long you are telling to us this, this record is way past being broken lol. What i always find funny in threads like this, where release date being constantly pushed due to reasons, is amount of people who continue to defend developer despite all of the broken promises. In this case it yet to become ridiculous, like when simps still funding patreon despite last update dating few yers back, but at this point you would need to get out a few solid updates in good time to restore most peoples faith in your team.

what so restricted in his game to be need to move to another country? how do you know this? I hope he/she is ok.
Last question first - Mobum's game had a number of problematic issues that would have eventually gotten him banned from most platforms; there was a lot of questionable pranking by underage kids on one of the potential LI, there was a bit of a bestiality scene dropped in, and one of the main LI's looked like a child [but w/ a considerable chest]. The country that Mobum lives in criminalizes the distribution of pornography [which is the case when the game is sold or pirated]; since it originated within that country by a citizen of that country, he could have faced multiple criminal counts, each of which [according to googled data] carries a 2-year prisone term. As well, Mobum had a work and personal life outside of his games, and exposure would have opened him up to extraordinarily sharp social condemnation. Forget work, forget the continuation of his marriage, or being allowed to live in the neighborhood he did, and forget his children being able to prosper as the children of a pornographer.

While I utterly condemn his country's stance on the subject [which is arrogantly easy to do because I'm from another country], I completely understand why Mobum made the decision he did. And while people do emigrate from their home country to another land for new business opportunities, he likely already had a life, a family, and a career where he was. And the job of making games is, at best, a finicky business with no guarantee of a steady income [especially when you factor in the piracy of a game which further erodes that income]. I mean, leaving the only world you have ever really known to start an unsure career path when you are alone is hard enough. Throw a spouse and kids into that and the challenges in emigrating are very unattractive.

I and the other folk at One Hand Clapping decided that Mobum's game didn't deserve to fade away; it was a good game. I was fortunate to be working with Mobum with another developer as writer shortly before v.0.5 would have come out before Mobum shuttered his game, Patreon and web accounts. I was as caught by surprise as everyone else was.

It has take almost two years to reImagine the game as something that still has the 'bones' of Mobum's game; while we have held onto the humor and fun of the older game, we have redesigned characters [since most of the character assets were lost] and a vastly larger world wherein larger, more in-depth stories can be told. The new coding is exemplary; we tool a lot fo time to design code that could be added to as the game progressed, which means fewer problems with saved games between updates. We're calling this reImagined game, Princess on the Run.

Pretty soon, we will be presenting the game to the public. It will restart the game in Willowdale; there will be two parts to Willowdale before a group of adventurers head out of town towards whatever fates await them. I know it's a lot to suggest that folk in this particular website sign up [via Patreon or Subscribestar] to support the game, but I keep hearing about how people miss this game. I would point out that we are actively trying to bring that game back, and are close to doing so, mainly because there are a lot fo people who support that effort.

You could be one of those supporters for less than 2 dollars. If you want to know more about the game's development, feel free to the Discord server for Princess on the Run. If you do, make sure to DM me and say hello; I'd love to show you around the place as we prepare for our first update release.

most of all it's adult game and those aren't allowed/are banned where he lives. he himself told it on this thread.

It's abandoned.
"Final" what said in the update, means it's final version of 0.4 (of last update)
If you want to read throught the posts from a some years ago, Mobum was forced to abandon the game by his country's government.

Princess on the Run is a remake/reImagining of Runaway Princess. It restarts the game and while it maintains a lot of the same atmosphere of fun, humor, and naughty adventure. it opens up the world in which the game is played. Some of the stories are more serious, and the women the player interacts with often have their own side adventures and quests. In a lot of ways, it's less like an AVN, and more like a sandbox rpg [but without all of the boring repetitive actions].

There is a and where you can see a lot of images from the new game, learn more about how the game has been assembled [and fixed, according to a lot of input from players of the previous game] and get early updates before the game releases. It is not out yet [a whole lot of work is being done to make sure it's a perfect as we can make it], but we are getting there.

If you choose to stop by the Discord server, please drop me a DM, so I can welcome you personally.
