By that you mean it's a heavily modified model from whatever base he used?mobum has done changes on it.

wouldn't be surprised, most devs do some tinkering.By that you mean it's a heavily modified model from whatever base he used?
Isnt he able to help "undercover" somehow?Hi. I am the writer who was working with Mobum on update v.05 before he had to withdraw [as per the message that he sent all of us]. ...
yes but it'd be free work. if he still has assets etc.Isnt he able to help "undercover" somehow?
I had wondered this as well. At first. Without delving too far into Mobum's complications - be they familial or governmental - they are his issues, not ours. He might not be able to respond to any enquiries related to the game, or may not want to. W e have to consider the very real possibility that the very talented triple threat [writing, coding and rendering] that Mobum presents has been stifled or snuffed out.Isnt he able to help "undercover" somehow?
if he cannot contact people about the game, getting those assets would be pretty hard. We might have to re-imagine the characters, though it pains me to say that. If we find another artist, they have a right to make something close but still their own and still unique.yes but it'd be free work. if he still has assets etc.

Not sure what you mean by that.right.
wouldn't be 1st attempt to get phoenix to rise from ashes.
I guess he was talking about - giving a game a second life. Not sure what you mean by that.
Oh, well, I can understand that not a lot of people care when a game enters abandoned status; they just move on to the next game. It's refreshing when folk don't always assume the negative.I guess he was talking about - giving a game a second life.
I think that if you are able to "finish" the 0.5 version, it's great idea.Hi. I am the writer who was working with Mobum on update v.05 before he had to withdraw [as per the message that he sent all of us].
I think this game is pretty amazing, and that's not just because I wrote a lot of content for it, and knew some of the entire storyline. Mobum is - as Sukebe had stated previously - an enormously talented DAZ artist and Ren'Py coder. He welcomed me, a screenwriter and author, and provided a new venue to create stories in.
While this sort of sounds like a eulogy for Mobum, I was thinking that maybe it can serve as a springboard to continue the game, at least for new stories. If there are artists out there who are using DAZ, and people who are good at Ren'Py, maybe we can work together to carry on and try to fill the massive shoes that he has left behind.
I have most of the scripts for 0.5, any or all of which can be developed into side-stories for most if not all of the characters of RP.
If you'd like to be involved in this project as a coder or artist, send me a message. If you have ideas about what new stories can be told, send me a message, or post them here. I am totally new at this, and the learning curve is pretty steep, but I'm prepared to put in the effort.
''he has done things I never saw in an adult game before''I think that if you are able to "finish" the 0.5 version, it's great idea.
I would love to hear what stories did you write for the latest update! I think I saw some of your comments in Discord too.
After the 0.5, maybe it's a good idea to continue with your own plot. Like setting your own twist of events that implies from now on, it's a new game in the same universe with the same characters. But if you are not experienced in this maybe it's going to be really hard. Runaway princess was really advanced in terms of gameplay, open world concept, story, assets etc. I believe that Mobum should have gone a far more simple design because there was no possible way for someone to manage updating such a complicate game often. If he used a simple, linear script and gave options for the events it would be for better I believe. At least until this thing with the porn ban happened in his country anyway. He had the ideas but I feel he couldn't put them in the game fast enough. So it's not an easy task I believe considering he has done things I never saw in an adult game before.
But I'll be watching your work for sure and if you manage to replicate the same vibe with Mobum's work then I would be willing to support you too.

There are also examples of where a game was abandoned and was revived, albeit with new models and a new title. Pandelo's My Sweet Neighbors was revived after the dev went missing as Love Next Door by EroBro.not assuming negative.
just that there is example what happens when others try to continue development of game after orig. dev is prevented to continue and then soon that other team gives up.
Personal Assistant comes to mind, it is very successful now that Blackheart Games took it over. Admittedly, it's not really the same game. There are also examples of where a game was abandoned and was revived, albeit with new models and a new title. revivals rarely are same game, same models maybe and same story but told by different person.Personal Assistant comes to mind, it is very successful now that Blackheart Games took it over. Admittedly, it's not really the same game.
