Yeah, there are some really weird, quasi religious laws here and there. I wouldn't say they're even in competition with middle eastern countries tho. That region and some parts of Africa are culturally behind when it comes to certain freedoms.

As a side topic, the laws on porn in the UK are not some fringe laws from the past. They are actually very recent. They have something called Extreme Pornography, in which, most things that are banned are things that I don't mind banning, e.g. bestiality, necrophilia, but the one I do mind is "rape porn", including fake ones. Well, depending on your views, maybe you think it should be banned. I'm not going to lie. I'm against that because I do like rape porn. There are so many games here that feature some elements of rape, including Runaway Princess. It is also extremely common in Japanese porn. It's one of those things that I think should not be outlawed. There are lots of things that "shouldn't" be done, but don't need to be outlawed. If a game developer is in the UK, and he has been making a rapey game, and he suddenly finds out that rape porn is illegal in the UK, he has to stop making his game. But if he was in any other country in Europe (except Germany), he wouldn't have to. So not a lot of countries think that should be illegal. But if you are unfortunately a porn game developer or a porn producer in the UK, you are bound by these laws. Anyway, the same logic applies to whatever country Mobum is in. Just like the example I gave, it's ridiculous how porn is regulated in some countries when it's allowed in so many countries. It raises the question on what should be regulated in any country.

When it comes to porn I'm open to allow anything when it's fictional. I don't care if fictional corpse of a puppy is raped by a tentacle as long as it's fictional. So I get what you're saying. I find it really interesting that such laws and ideas are usually implemented in english speaking countries. Erotic games always had this issue that they cannot become well known by the public or else some western conservatives can make things difficult for everyone. But while western countries can change their laws quite rapidly in this context, there is no hope for a change in middle eastern country when it comes to such stuff I'm afraid. Dev in such a country has no future and it's hard to blame Mobum for abandoning this ship.

I don't think anyone blames him. But regarding laws, I think rights are fought for. And most people only fight for rights that are related to themselves. So, it's up to people like Mobum that are directly affected by such laws in his country to overturn these laws, although it's easier said than done. If everyone abides by the law no matter how unreasonable they are, then the laws are just going to get more restrictive. There are always people that will try to expand their control.

Can someone else continue this game? The game is going to be profitable and I guess Mobum can get a part of profit from whoever continues or can even sell it completely. I guess miZtyl [ the maker of new earth (which got recently completed) ] might be a good choice for it.

unless mobum gives to new dev all assets and story plan it wouldn't be same game.

Well too bad. Both of his games were better than 98% of the drivel on this site.

That said, there are ways around almost all roadblocks if one is motivated. A VPN to a remote partner via something like TeamViewer would do the trick. Nothing would be left on the home computer. But if a government shuts down VPN access, that would be tough to sneak by.
