We are not deceiving anyone. We have been open and honest from day one. We have more than doubled the number of renders of the same section of the original game and added at least 3 completely new scenes. If people want to sub to us (99% percent of whom we have spoken to, either in the Discord or by other means) then that is up to them. They are free to stop at any time, and we have told them so as well. This is not an AVN, it's going to take considerable time to make it. So we missed some release dates, tell me one first-time dev who didn't. If you don't want to wait, then don't, we aren't making you. Pouring scorn on us just makes our resolve greater. And just for the record, I work on 5 games now (either music, scoring or writing), so I can't be doing too badly as a first-time developer.

I really liked the changes your team made when you took over TJG and made it significantly better. I have high hopes you'll do the same with this one. Best of luck and when it's ready, I look forward to taking it for a spin. (y)

Try and weed out the constructive criticism from the shit-posting, I know this place is toxic for developers.
Thank you! Just to set the record straight, we have the same coder as The Judas Ghost but it is a different team. Our coder, the legend that is Riam Mar, also works on quite a few other games, as do I.

Thank you. Sincerely and honestly. I don't come here often because of the hate shovelled on some devs. And (scrolling down the latest hate-posts) to be accused of milking is a bit of a joke. Most of our subs are friends who are reciprocating subs to their games, or personal friends just being generous. If you don't want to sub, then stop, it is everyone's freedom to choose.

Yes, this game has taken an age to get off the ground, don't forget we lost 2 of our developers during the 2 years we have spent so far on it. We took on a new artist because our main artist has a new and incredibly demanding dayjob. I work (or used to until this week) 60 to 80 hours a week on a dayjob and have 3 kids and a mortgage. The tiny amount of money we get on this game (at the last look it is about $70 a month) is still in the bank account, none of us have had a penny yet because we will have to reimburse each other for all the game assets we have purchased (as we would have to for a future Steam release) which is running into the hundreds if not thousands of $ already. I just quit most of my dayjob to work on this and other games full-time. This is my commitment to Princess on the Run and my team.

A few haters aren't really going to affect my motivation or mood. It is just sad that people who think they know, don't actually know anything. They just make assumptions.

So, thank you, Detroit123, you have put a hopeful smile on my face this morning.
My well wishes to you . Everyone will love when the release drops .

It is coming, but slower than they would have hoped.
Which is severe understatement. According to their discord on the beginning of this month "We have over a thousand renders and five animations completed, and about that many more to go" and first time they were expecting to release game was in last year autumn... and then month later... and then month later... and then month later... you get it. Developers lurking in this thread and there more and more of them, and they promise to blown your mind when they do eventually release it, but when it happen... but "very soon and you should subscribe to their patreon and you are a loser if you don't believe them" is about all we have for now.

im fairly confident that they didnt say that even scrolling up like 5 posts proves that statement wrong. but you dont have to worry this is a pirate site forum on an abandoned game that people are trying to revive. you can just wait and see you dont have to try and be negative about it. if it comes it comes great. if it comes and you like it give the dev some coffee money. if it comes and you dont, then move on. if it doesnt come. then it doesnt come.

There's a lot to unpack in your post but mostly what I read is your frustration. That frustration I can totally understand. I know how I feel and feel how the others feel about our progress and can only imagine there being twice as much frustration from the fans of the OG game, if not more.

To be honest with you, we also are just humans and on top of that, some of us don't or didn't have much, if any, experience in game development. We had to learn a lot about internal reporting, feedback and communication in a team living in UTC+2 to UTC-6 and that's not even including language barriers or understanding cultural references. But, to be fair, that's our problem, not a problem for the fans, supporters and future customers.

I joined OHC in April last year and even then the goal with a release in autumn was ambitious. That was my opinion from just looking at the old game and seeing a part of what my job would entail. With the old coder gone MIA and leaving nothing behind, that half a year till release was about what I expected that I needed in time, if I don't have anything else to do. At that time, I didn't know the progress on the other fronts, just that we had people working on it of which I knew Jefferson—a great, awesome, handsome guy, to whom I owe a lot when it comes to how and that I was able to gain a foothold in this industry; does great music too and is way to
invested when it comes to helping other people out; enough about that.

The autumn release date was questionable for me, when I got a bit more insight into the Princess on the Run project. Then we pushed it to Christmas, which is a nice idea, but nice ideas are like certain orifices; everyone has one but sometimes they stink. I am someone that doesn't like to give an ETA for release that far away from the release itself. If we are a month away, e.g. we gave it to our beta testers, then I might be swayed to tell people "Yeah, expect it soon." Until then, there's so much that can go awry, that I just don't feel comfortable with telling people we release on Day X and then… You know what happened, since we didn't release yet.

One of those things that can go wrong is that something unexpected happens. Starting with a PC going up in smokes (metaphorically)—it was luck that I'm in a situation where I had a PC with almost the same hardware and drive configuration, that I could load a backup of my working rig on it so that I could get to work with only some delay and personal discomfort. But, we were four developers (now we are five). And wouldn't you know it, our lead’s apartment went up in flames (literally) and our render magicians hardware had trouble as well. The latter even lost us some of our render progress, if I remember correctly. What I want to say is that we certainly got unlucky. Where others have an issue, almost everyone of us had an issue or two that lead to a delay or set-back in the development. But again, that is our problem, not yours. With all that said, this is not trying to be an excuse for anything. If you are frustrated with the progress or our communication thereof, I can understand and am sorry. We can only promise to try to do better.

Picking apart some of your post, to answer them directly.

Developers lurking in this thread and there more and more of them
That sounds kind of ominous and as if we do that with malintentions.
As far as I know, three of us are reading or have posted here. We are mostly around here, to see the community of the OG game and get feedback from them. In any way that we can, even if it's just reading about random thoughts about the OG game or feedback for our content. I can agree that some of what we read is acknowledged already, while we are either still discussing others or think we should use our discretion as developers to stick with our redesigned Elly, even if she has a less heavy chest.

they promise to blown your mind when they do eventually release it
We are obviously hoping to blow everyone's mind with what we created, but it is most certain that we don't. Opinions and tastes differ and in this small but fragmented industry we call (A)VN that is even more the case. But even if we aren't able to get a perfect Aelrue/10 score, we hope to at least get some people to like Randy interacting with the ladies, others liking our male MC to get to enjoy the warmth of the ladies around him and most of our players to like the adventures our main characters will encounter.

you are a loser if you don't believe them
I hope this post makes it abundantly clear that you are free to have your own opinions about us and our development. That you are free to feel any way you like about the progress we have and present. You or anyone else is certainly not a loser for being doubtful or untrusting. After all, we've seen other games go down the gutter and milkers squeezing the last drop out of their supporters.
What we try is to show the progress we get from one dev meeting to another, as we post about it. We can talk about and address suggestions and feedback in our discord, which we do regularly.
And, that leads to the next part:

you should subscribe to their patreon
You can. I'm fairly certain we never said anything alike "subscribe OR" and if any of our posts sounded like that, I can assure you that is not meant that way.
I myself am of the opinion that, if you have any doubt or uncertainty about us or the project, you should not subscribe to us. If you barely scratch by and could do better spending the money to go to the cinema with a loved one or buy your child a new toy, do that and don't subscribe to us.
If at some point we release and you think, "hey, that's nice," then we ask that if you can support us, that you do so. Not as an obligation but the same way any developer hopes that you throw them some breadcrumbs. That is not meant patronizing, but literally, that every penny helps the development.
We are truly grateful to all our patrons, subscribers, and supporters of all kinds. To those who have supported us in the past, those who continue to support us, and those who will hopefully join us in the future.

I think what the devs need to do is just release the game and not come here to talk about the hate. Its the work that proves if its real or bs when you release the game that all the hate is wrong,so while i get it on a marketing standpoint that they need to keep people engaged with some people especially people on patreon this needs a release date,or they can stay quiet about the game not engage in the hate like No Man Sky its a bad sign when the devs are that engaged in community and there is no game to speak of it almost feels like a rug pull is going to happen. So to the people here waiting come back in 6 months if im alive by that time if i see nothing happening with the game its dead, to the devs i understand and this is not me kicking you while you are down or being a "Hater" i just dont want to hear what is going to happen to a game that is not even out yet.Maybe the poblem is this project is overly ambitios maybe its a rug pull i dont know and like many here i dont trust the words of the devs. When we get games like A Struggle With Sin or Master of Ranna that they work day in and day out and update the game each month with new content. If you genuinely want people to belive you release it it dose not have to be complete and then update it on the monthly or 2 months bases.1 More thing engaging in community is great if you have a game that is out but only focusing on hate is not good for the game the devs and it comes with a territory when making any games. This is for games in general not just games on f95 zone but in general dont promise the moon and the stars just give people a good hell a ok game and start from there project zombid was a mess when it first started look at it now.So my advice release the game now uncompleted and update it on 1 or 2 months bases that way people see you are working on the game they become more engaged in the game and start seeing that this isnt a rug pull but a group of poeple dedicated to the project if you are looking for pefection you are never going to finish anything.

I honestly see this from both sides of the fence.

I played the original game towards the end of its development before it was cut short due to governmental dumbassery. I enjoyed it, could have used a bit more polish but yeah,I was excited to see it thrive. Then it died, and instead of crying about it, i simply left it in the f95checker list and eventually saw (2 or more years ago) that it was being revived by a new team (hopefully).

Now, the issue here stems from the fact that there have been thousands of games on this site that have been abandoned for one reason or another, and there have been thousands of people jumping up and going "yo I'm rebuilding/remaking/continuing the game! Stay put!"... only for them to post promising updates for two years, then go radio silent after enough of the patreons forget they're even paying for it.I mean,Big Brother has come back, died, and come back enough times it might as well be considered a candidate for the 17th Doctor!

So yeah, massive history of that scenario happening one after the other that its actually a running joke in the community.

Now, i spent a little time chatting to the new devs here a long while ago, somewhere around the midpoint of the time they've been apparently remaking this title. I got the genuine impression they were intent on finishing the game. I also understand that there are just as many roadblocks in a group of random people coming together to make a game as there are abandoned games themselves. But this is one of the very, very few that I do believe will eventually culminate in some kind of release.

But also, they haven't actually given anything to show for that effort in the couple+ years they've been developing this. Not a demo, not a scenepack, no roadmap. Not even a small chunk of the current game they have has been scooped out and shown off to people. So I really can't blame everyone here for thinking its just another attempt to wrestle cash from the forgetful patreons of the site.

It would honestly be in OHC's best interest to, at this point, look at what they have, find a realistic part of it that works, and release that part as a demo. Not the whole thing, but enough to prove that this hasn't just been hot air for the last 2+ years. Or at the very least, just stop replying to people in this thread and focus on the task at hand. .5 percent of people on this site are actually paying for these games. You shouldn't be concerning yourself with arguing with those who dont believe this is even happening in the first place.

Just talk to your patreons, the people actually making things happen, and then when you have something to post and prove people wrong, come back and post it.

Either way, I'll do what I've been doing so far and drop back in to see if anythings happening in 4 or so months. Hopefully we can see a playable demo by years end.

Hey, how do you get the scene where Kelly falls down and spills the apples? I know I have to carry her, but I don't know how to find that scene..
