Sacrifice Heroes is the old doujins you found. It was Butcha's first attempt at worldbuilding. His old sketches and galleries shows that he put some effort into it but it was ultimately abandoned. It was more than 10 years ago however it seems that Butcha never forgot the world he created because it was revived in game form with Sacrifice Villains.
Many story elements and characters that did go unused at the time were brought back to serve as background for the new stuff: the rehabilitation of 3 fresh heroines by the Asylum faction. And since their story is resolved by the end but that (spoiler), it looks like to me that the game was made with a sequel in mind. One that would focus on the old heroines and their plot this time.

Awesome, thanks. A bit of a shame they didn't complete and make that one into a VN I skimmed through and liked a lot of what I saw. Then again I like pretty much everything Butcha draws.

Yeah, me too. He's my favorite artist. Is there something you didn't like with Sacrifice Villains that made you search for Sacrifice Heroes? Or is it just a classic case of "That was good and i could go for more of the same"?
On a unrelated note, here's the old villain cast.
Apart from the nun in the middle, all of them made it into SV.
Among those, only hearth girl and the angel medic appeared in the game.
And for the final row, only the ascensor twins showed up.
We might see the missing girls in a future sequel, if Clockup decide it's worth it. But it probably hinges on SV selling well enough. Sequels have a tendency to sell less than the first part of a serie, so a good start is often necessary to continue.
I always look games up on dlsite and where ever else they're posted when I'm interested in them. Initially I thought they were the same thing and just a case of the name changing in an English translation before realizing they were separate.
Yeah a lot of those designs look great and I've seen a few images of some of the ones that didn't make it into the game. I definitely hope we get a sequel but yeah I know how it is. Thanks for the full images though, I hadn't seen a couple of these character designs yet.

Yeah, that makes sense, they did that with Kenzen 1 and 2 too. I use vndb when i want to know all the games an artist has done in their career. It's so exhaustive that it even list eroge so old that they can't be bought anymore because the sites that sold them are long dead.

I'm loving Kenzen, still playing through it atm. Yeah I actually had already followed most of those accounts long before discovering these vns, forgot all about the Hentai Foundry one. Guess he's deleted it I'm pretty sure I had a lot of his works favorited there a long time ago.

Harem style, you protect the girls, as long that you keep your waifu safe you will have a good ending with her unmolested (i know some you guys are big on that, me i'm with Butcha in team gangbang rules). Forbidden magic and mystery vibes, long and meandering plot that i found tedious to follow (it doesn't help that the only eng version is a MTL one, so if you're fluent i bid you good luck) but, if you persevere until the end, the final twist is actually pretty good. Along with the Meikoku series i'll add the oldYou must be registered to see the linksgame. It doesn't have the school settings and the magic theme but it otherwise shares so much of its other elements with Meikoku that i would argue it's a primitive meikoku. If you take Jutaijima, try to disguise it as Bible Black and polish it as much as you can and you get Meikoku. If you like one of them, you might like the others.

Consider this, genre is clothes, theme is skin and structure is bones. From afar, first seen are clothes covering most of the skin the same way tropes/conventions partially masks a game's themes with game being "nude" when you completed it. As in, you see the twists and turns of the story for what they are and how they really compare to the genre expectations you had for them before playing. I should come with exemples but fuck it, this post is long, i'm getting tired and it shows. Ask me latter, if you want them. So, the structure are the elements that can't be seen directely (unless you open up people, but don't do that if it's not your job) but still shape the entire body, hence the comparison with bones. Point is, Sacrifice Villains true essence is that of a prison game, whose lineage go back the Kangoku Senkan series (can be disputed, there are older prison games but i can't see the impact they made from where i stand, i'm not hentai historian). And with said Kangoku Senkan we have a common ancestor with the other games in the list (this time, it's Alicia that shares the most traits with it.) Since you mentionned your favorite eroge, i must warn you that none of Butcha's games are on the same level of hardcore as Maggot Baits. First, MB is the hardest one i can think of the top of my head, with only classics like

reaching similar edge level. At face value, some of Butcha's scenes can be considered really hardcore (it never dips into guro, tho) but the impact is always blunted in some way, be it by either grotesque, campiness or the overall B movie mood.The way i see it, Maggot Baits tries to get under your skin to toy with your soul while the Butcha's games do their hardcore stuff for fetishism sake. (Disclaimer, those distinctions are only relevant you're already a desensitized hentai degenerate, don't get the idea you can easily stomach Butcha's harcore content if you are a big eyed vanilla lover or have the heart of a pure maiden.)
That said, you might still enjoy Butcha's games as he often sprinkles futa content into his works. It's rarely the centerpiece tho.
