this game helped me learn how to read Japanese - well at least understand what they want to say

Apparently, the translation fucked the assets up more than I thought and the common asset caused a crash when going into a scene too. I don't know what other errors might pop up, so I've just taken the commonSys and common file from the Japanese file and placed them in the English file. Texts on items and maps are missing from the game with this translation, so I'm not too keen on finding them either. This fixes the crashing caused by them, the file is bigger because it's uncompressed.

Just place it in サムライヴァンダリズムver1.00\AssetBundles\english and replace the scenarios file.

For me personally, because I want the 'before and after' of the scenes, and also because I want a series of saves for the routes. Especially because the maps are really confusing for this game. More organic yes, but also more confusing.

And from what I've played so far, the route calculation is a bit more complicated than any of their previous games.

Also because I know there are modded saves that let you have high sex levels on Chapter 1.

Finish the game once and you can get 1M Ryo, Max level on all playable characters, and C rank on everything upon starting a new game as reward, takes about 20 mins to run through the game on easy when skipping and "I win/lose" through all story fights on easy difficulty, those bonuses can be taken even to normal difficulty afterwards.

Have you played their old games? You should know that there is a level of "corruption" and you can get endings from it.
Example - 1) Clean ending (sex only with a loved one for a character) \ 2) Try - raise the level H, from ALL available ...
There are obviously more endings, but the most obvious 1 and 2

So are you confident this is a locale based issue? As while they are commonplace I'm not sure how they would be afflicting you but not me in this instance, I have been running the 1.02 version of the game just fine with this set up. No crashes at all.

I'm absolutely sure script errors are locale-based. I was unable to start the game in any version I downloaded, getting this error every time when clicking Play in main menu. Log file shows

Everywhere people get around this by changing the locale.

When I try to start the game, all I get is "made with Unity" Followed by an full white screen followed by a big load of nothing. Not even any error messages. Anyone here encounter or overcome something similar?

Bad news for you: It is, except for it has 3 routes.
