Of course it's a card game. Why is it always a card game :/
I think only some types card games are more luck than tactics. If it's the type that lets you freely adjust your deck (like most TCGs), then luck isn't as big of an influence. If it's the type where you reset your deck and start all over if you lose, luck is a bigger factor, but consistent victory usually hinges on your ability to exploit certain combos (like Slay the Spire). The only games where you're truly at the mercy of luck tend to have very limited capacity of what you can and can't do, like Rock-Paper-Scisssors style battle systems.Oh no... a card and deck builder ?
I'll still try at some point, but i really don't like card games, it's less tactics and skill and more luck than anything, and i'm an unlucky bastard so i never manage to do good, even when i 100% understand the game.
Still love how the game looks so i'll give it a shot.
Library of Ruina's pretty alright. I feel like its stylishness and card variety makes it pretty engaging. It would be hard to emulate its progression system considering that it runs on bulk. You don't get bored as quickly because you're constantly forced to change out your deck loadout as better cards/abilities/stats come in.Something tells me Velminth has been playing Library of Ruina
Given how many cards he's already done it's not going back any time soon. You should give it a chance!Cardgame combat is boring. I'd rather it stay as-is.
Not being able to choose what move you want to do becuase of RNG is shit. Especially if most of the moves are lewd position selections.
Don't waste time with this, just keep it an RPG and work on more content.
I quite liked the Rock-Paper-Scissors mechanic of "Alex Kidd in Miracle World". You could win every time as long as you pressed down in sync with the music (was even easier after getting the item that lets you see what the bosses and mini-bosses were gonna choose)The only games where you're truly at the mercy of luck tend to have very limited capacity of what you can and can't do, like Rock-Paper-Scisssors style battle systems.
