The only thing that I don't like about Serenity, is that the "enemies" are not enemies at all, just a little pep-talk and puff, we are best friends! Add some drama, some real fights, some long enemy plot. I hoped that the MC's father (the most powerful dark writer ever existed) would be the big bad villain at the end of the road, before the epic ending. Let the MC fight some real enemies, make him sweat for his role of God of Dreams and Wishes.

Yes. I agree. And I'll even add that I wish I had given more thought to enemies and the drama around them at the time. Back then, I pushed hard to get updates out so quickly, it started to feel like a rush job - which is why now I spend a lot more time on updates. These are things I have had to learn on my own as I had no help or team to back me up, or anyone to lean on. I did have a few other devs to get advice from. But when you first start out, most devs won't give you the time of day, much less take the time to explain things. That, of course, doesn't have much weight on the writing itself, but I had to learn about that along the way also.

Anyway, Serenity has a lot more issues than just quickly resolved drama. I want to rewrite the entire first chapter. I don't know if I'll definitely do that (most rewrites seem to fail miserably so it might be better to leave well-enough alone). But if I do rewrite, it will be the entire thing including graphics. Especially the first parts are really cringe. I want to remove Trina from the rest of the series - she would only have the scene at the beginning with the NSFW stuff removed. More focus on actual dream writing, longer connection periods with characters (improved personality portrayal), and more focus on romance.

I may actually find someone willing to do the rewrite with me. I am not sure yet and that is a long way off. But you could potentially see a post from me at some point asking if anyone is interested.

Meh, Trina could be a useful character, if well used, she is a fox, smart and cunning by nature, you could use her as a sort of "intellectual help" for the MC in his "job" on the mortal realm (maybe by letting her stay in the HQ with the MC's mother) and could be used also as an easy fap material (gotta give the players something NSFW xD).
I am a novel writer, I suck at creating dialogues, but I am pretty good in creating stories and plots, if you need

I thought I would do an "all" option at one time, but I don't know. Pick one girl or impregnate all six... The problem is I'd want to avoid the "now which kid would he pass on his power to?" dilemma. It could happen, I'm not sure. It would be a lot of extra stuff to write, render, etc., which would take longer.

I was kinda thinking something like that for Trina. Who knows... my thoughts on all this could change when/if it comes time to rewrite it. By then, I would hope I am working on Last Human and alternating with my next game, which might be Viral Affair. So I'll have my hands full.

Hello friends,

Well, today I'm in a better place than I was two weeks ago, and development is moving right along. I am happy to report that coding for episode 4 is now complete and I have already started working on the graphics (as of Wednesday). I am shooting for a release on December 6th. Realistically, I cannot say for certain if I'll make that date because... well, this episode is full of sex scenes. If you wanted more sex out of Serenity, it's going to be all up in your face in this episode. So, a lot more animations, and many of them have choices (2 or more different options), and one that you can turn down. Enjoy this episode because there won't be as much sex in the next two episodes. I'm even naming episode 4: Feed the Fade. LOL

Now, you guys see a character render I've attached. This is a preview of the six girls in your harem after they've joined together to become one. Before you ask, NO, this is NOT permanent. Yes, they can do this whenever they want to. And yes, each of the girls' personalities will come out at times. I had a really difficult time deciding how I wanted to render her. Obviously, it is hard to make one girl 'look like' all six girls. As the leader of the harem, Kat's body is used, but at times, certain features may change, depending on which personality is speaking or acting. Her eyes may change color, boobs might get bigger, and yes, even Trixy's lightning bolt tattoo may appear. All of this will create some complications during the rendering process as I'll be changing the character model a lot. Details details! This may be one of the more complicated episodes I've done (for either game). But in the end, I think it will be worth it and I hope it will become a favorite with everyone. This episode is just a fun time before the 'boss fight' that will last 2 episodes - so those of you who don't like drama, or may be triggered by drama, prepare yourselves for that. I promise it won't be overboard. But this is also my attempt to actually have something BAD happen that is not resolved in 3 scenes. And not matter what you see, you will love how it ends, I assure you

Speaking of endings... let's talk about the end of Serenity. I hear some of you groaning already, relax! If I don't end it soon, I'll never get time to work on a new game. I have the first 2 updates for "Camilla" coded already so that all I need to do is render images for that. But I am also still trying to decide if I want Viral Affair to be the next game, or another one I had in mind. As for Serenity, episode 4 is fun time. Episodes 5 and 6 are 'boss fight' - dealing with Anastasia. And finally, there will be the pregnancy episodes. This will end on episode 7 or 8. I haven't decided if I'll just make a longer finale with episode 7, or go ahead and split it into two, and have an episode 8. It just depends on how things go from here on out. I am still also working on Last Human after this release (episode 5), and it is going to be a long one too. I have my work cut out for me, but hopefully a good plan moving forward.

For those of you who are fans of Camilla, as I've mentioned, I am actively working on a game solely based on that character. Some spoilers ahead so that you get an idea of what it will be about... It will not connect with my other games, outside of natural Serenity stuff that gets mentioned. The name of it will simply be "Camilla". It is a prequel of her time as a mortal on earth before she became a dream writer. You will be a new male character meeting her for the first time. The game will have other girls in it you'll be able to "interact" with, if you know what I mean. But Camilla is the only main love interest (rest are just some side fun and Camilla won't care). Camilla will be growing into and discovering her powers, and since she lived with her father (Demitre), you'll see small bits with him and how he began to change (unknowingly at the time under Anastasia's control). Players who have played Serenity should know that "Camilla" will have an odd sort of ending because we all know she eventually leaves to join her father in his dream world. But you'll have plenty of fun time with her before that happens. It will be a short game... maybe a bit shorter than Serenity chapter 1.

I know, a lot of stuff going on. Let it sink in. We still have a lot to do before we get to all of that Camilla fun. We need to finish Serenity first. And continue Last Human updates in between, so it's all still a little way off. Your support has been helpful, both paying and non-paying supporters and I appreciate you all. Last month I topped out at just over 300 paying subscribers on Patreon, which is the most I've had since I started. It's dropped off again to around 287 today. If I get to over 500 or more, and can stay up there, there is a good chance I can begin looking at retiring from the full-time job, and only focus on my games full time. We'll see! Meanwhile, I appreciate all followers whether you pay or not, and even if I never get up there, I'll still be pressing on because I love doing this.

Whatever works for you best, is what's best. Personally I'm a fan of making babies, and if it's essential that only one get "The Power" we could still have the MC choose. Either way it's a choice dilemma, either who does MC impregnate, or whose kid gets the glow. But really whichever option is best/easiest/most satisfying for you is the one you should go with.

The fusion render you have made of all the 6 girls is just stunning, damn loving the creativity there. Also appreciate the clarity for the road ahead with the games that are gonna be planned and how the current games are gonna roll on and eventually conclude, am overall quite pleased with it as know that any new game you begin or conclude the existing ones they'll be wholesome and fun, so it'll be a treat to experience. Also expect you get the needful support as it'll be handy and surely believe that the brief period of you hitting 300 subs was a testament that those numbers will increase soon as both your games are just wonderful!

After the six main girls (Kat, Rin, Lena, Morgan, Jasmine, and Trixy) combine into one, they'll face Anastasia in the spirit plain as one single girl with all of their powers combined.

Hello my friends...

Well, work at my full-time job certainly picked up over the last 2 weeks. We've had a lot going on with our company absorbing another one. Luckily, I didn't get picked to travel to that site, but I've had my hands full with everything from moving their servers into our virtual environment to inventorying hardware. Needless to say, I've still slowly managed to pick away at getting renders done for episode 4. But there is so much left to do with all the extra animations (due to adding more options in a few of the scenes). I want to try and add options for sex scenes going forward. And at some point, I'll need to go back and redo a few of the previous sex scenes and perhaps add options to those as well.

Taking some time out here and there, I've been also writing for Last Human episode 5. I've been trying to adjust my workflow so that I make SOME time for at least getting some of the writing done for the next update on my other game. Basically, right now I am of course focused on Serenity episode 4. But it's like 80% that, 15% pre-writing for Last Human, and then 5% writing on the Camilla VN. Once this Serenity update is out, I work on Last Human 80%, write for Serenity's next update around 15%, and Camilla 5%. That sounds stupid reading it back to myself LMFAO. But hopefully you get the idea. While trying to up my game on the graphics and adding extra animations, plus more choices for sex scenes, I really need to try to get ahead on the writing at least.

While writing for Last Human, I was writing content for Alaina. I feel like Alaina has been pretty neglected in the story so far, and that wasn't on purpose. It's pretty obvious (if you've followed the story so far) that she is next for some focused attention from the captain. After getting some ways into her story arc, I realized something. I wrote this the way I should have written all of the other girl's story arcs. And I know some people out there are going to say, "why didn't he put this kind of attention on the other girls?" - and they'd be right about that. Something just clicked while I was writing this stuff about her. I don't know why that happened and at first, I was going to delete all of it and try to simplify it. I let my wife read it and she said I would be an idiot if I deleted it. Now, I have to tell you that my wife is probably more critical of my work than any of those reviewers out there. She loved the storyline I came up with for Alaina. She hasn't reacted that way to anything until now. If this turns out to be a big hit for people, I'll never hear the end of it from her LOL.

The point is... In some of my (negative) reviews, it has been mentioned that there just wasn't enough "getting to know" each girl. When I play it back myself, I can see why they would say that. At the same time, it still isn't that bad compared to most other AVN's I've read out there. But it is a legitimate statement (about both games). Well, now I have this little dilemma of sorts, I suppose. We're going to get this really cool storyline for Alaina and I'm going to keep it in as is, just as my wife advised. And we'll have to make it up to the other girls as we go forward. Spend more time with each one. Hopefully it all works out. With any luck, you guys will enjoy Alaina's story as much as my wife did and give me time to work that into the other main girls. I don't really want to go back and rewrite a bunch of shit because when I play it back myself, I do see things I'd like to change, but I like it the way it is.

Anyway, sorry this devlog got derailed a bit talking about Last Human. But in my need for transparency, I wanted you guys to know what's going on. It sucks to finally figure these things out well into development and writing, it is what it is I guess. In any case, I am working on Serenity right now, rendering away. I skipped the rendering/animation work for the first sex scene just to try and get some images completed. I've gone back and I am working on that now. I don't know how other devs do this, but I tend to first, write the dialogue. Then I work one the renderings in order, following the story and at the same time, reading the dialogue to make sure I'm getting the right emotions, facial expressions, eye position... you get the idea. And normally when I get to a sex scene, I'd work on it right then. This time, I chose to skip it and keep rendering just to see how that would go.

Great Devlog as usual Fire, with a busy job certainly impressive and productive all that you have managed. The plans you have mentioned for both LH and Serenity you have mentioned would be pleasing to see. Overall nice to hear things are rolling on nicely there!
