I would write a review if i could but until then - this is a very good game. I would buy it when it's been completed.
It is surprising and really offers meaningful choices. This is not your usual porn game but a high class visual novel written with care and nicely rendered and you don't feel like you waste time for nothing and there is no grinding so far.
Please don't abandon it.
Thank you for the kind words and I have no intention of abandoning. As for the lack of grind, I hate grinding and when I play HTML games with a grind I always cheat to get around it.

What conditions must be met in order for me to meet Melanie:love: at Mooney's Pub?

There are three conditions that must be met to drink with Melanie:

If you've met all 3 conditions and it's not working, please let me know. I looked it over and don't see any issues that might bug it but it's always possible I missed something subtle.

Not sure who Melanie was, but the only people I met at the pub were the journalist (don't remember her name, but don't think it was that) and the smuggler.

Melanie is the female deputy with the blonde ponytail.

I probably bugged the unlock requirements. I think I fixed it. I had a poll in my Patreons asking if I should do my usual pause for bug fixes or just start work on the next update and include bug fixes in it. Next update got something like 97% of the votes so the fix for it will be in that.

It would also be great if in the future I could meet Melanie:love: in person!

Definitely sounds like the Melanie interaction is bugged...I think I have it fixed in my current version, pending testing.

The first date with Mark bugs out, when it gets to the point where he asks for the panties before you get a chance to decide what to do it jumps ahead and you're back in the bedroom

That's very odd. That date has worked fine for a long time and I haven't touched it in forever and never got this bug report. Do you have a save to send me by any chance?

This is easily the best adult game I have ever played.
The whole world you have created is so amizing and alluring.
You really know how to draw people into a story.
I hope it will go on forever.
I will definetely support your patreon again.

Can you point me to ressources where you can learn to make a html game with this engine?

Twine is available from their website:

I also highly recommend you use Visual Studio code and Tweego instead of the default Twine editor:

As for resources to get help there is a subreddit for Twine where people generally are helpful. I sometimes post there. But far more important is the Twine discord. This game would not be even half as good as it is without the amazing help I have gotten there. I'm not kidding. Especially in the early days, they helped me so much and to this day I still sometimes go there for help with particularly annoying bugs.

Can't get past the fact the MC is ugly. Downloaded, started it, then saw there is no way to customize the looks.
Honestly I do have a thing for redheaded girls, but THAT person looks... uhm... not good. Failed transgender surgery is the 1st thing that comes to mind when you look at her face.

I wish you all the luck, dev. You seem to need it.

I asked this on my Patreon and figured I'd ask here as well. The original concept for the game had the PC as a sort of independent detective who came to the town. She still is but she gets wrapped up in other stuff and so going forward, I'm wondering if I should consider removing the jobs going forward and having the PC work as a fulltime detective to solve the problems in town.

Keep the current jobs or create a new detective job for all?

I'm at a big turning point on in the game and really need feedback. The jobs are fun, especially for sexual content but lots of people have told me they don't feel connected to the main storyline. So I guess my qwuestion is, should I keep the jobs or find a way to make the player into an independent detective?

This would be relatively easy. Van Horn is already supportive of the player, so he'd just fund the PC while she does her work. As far as any sexual content from the jobs people enjoy, that could still be included in various ways, particularly with the Mayor and Riley.

I like the jobs for replay ability, however, I understand the infamous hydra problem that has a habit of killing off many projects. Constraining the story to a singular detective route and having the stat changes be the deciding factor for branches seems beneficial to me.

I don't have a definitive opinion, but I will say I was confused by the jobs: We're told the MC is a detective, so why are they suddenly looking for side hustles instead of doing their job as a detective? Eventually I assumed that the detective thing must be more of a hobby or aspiration for them, but that wasn't really the impression I'd had at first.

I can see how the jobs serve a function as pipelines for content, but they also add more (minor) branching for you to keep up with: Rather than side options that can be explored or not at will, a job needs to have something (hopefully interesting) for the MC to do every day; cutting or reworking them into optional side content might make future development more manageable.

It's hard for me to really say since I am new to the game & just recently played it for the first time. I went with the Maid thing and while I did kinda like it I also didn't feel as if it really connected to what I was trying to do in the game.

Another thing - but that's just me making assumption based on what I was told ingame - I felt kinda...not comfortable? It felt as if I was forced to pick a job that then comes with kinda random negative impact on my Detective's stats that then also translate into people dying etc.

I can't say if that is what actually results from it since I stopped playing at that point & still haven't decided yet if I wanna start over or something, but at least it created this feeling where the job was highly distracting me from the actual mission & then also on top of it the game made it sound as if it would majorly impact the story in a negative way, which kinda killed my interest in it, even though I kinda liked Riley's type of stuff.

Take this as a feedback that you shouldn't put much weight on, though.

Also I wanna say your writing is excellent, I really enjoyed most of the characters I met so far.

Well I Kinda like the job part especially undercover officer but i Know that it is time constraining and somehow far from detective way.But i would like both because you would do awesome job in both situation either side job or fulltime detective job.
