I like HTML games but my personal preference is indeed toward Ren'py. I don't want to advise you on what to do but it does seem like a shame that your amazing renders are downsized so much because of the format. I'm pretty sure I sometimes zoomed in on some of them because they were too small normally.

I don't necessarily want to advise you to swap to Ren'py as I would imagine that that would take even more effort, where it is clear that there's a lot of it already going into this game but there might indeed be some good reasons for changing to it.

I'd also add that I think the new protagonist looks great. I'm personally partial to the redhead but they all look great.

Honestly, that is a big reason for me to use Ren'py if I'm honest. I get tired of my renders getting reduced to something like 25% of the screen space. Though I will admit Ren'py will probably mean a lot more renders need to be done and a bigger file size for the game.

Also, to be totally honest, people don't take HTML games seriously it feels like. I think there is a bit of a stigma that "HTML games are just lazy low effort games with real porn and grinding."
I think a lot of people just don't like to read. So they will gravitate towards Renpy. Personally I like the HTML format (obviously), but there's no shortage of poorly written grindfests with it either. That said, Renpy is also nice.

Just to be clear, Ren'py is for the sequel game. I have no intention of doing some kind of remake of this game. It always annoys me when Devs do that so I won't do it either.

I thought I'd show you guys a look at the MC for the Sequel game. I finally have a design for her I really like. My Patrons voted for the next game to have a blond MC but they seem to like this girl as a red head, so we'll see!

Wendy you are The Red.
Don't dare to make a non-redhead MC!

This story had me HOOKED from start to current end, and MC & Eric are hot as fuck (especially when they're together). I also like how there's a balanced mix of male and female characters for more varied sex scenes and a lot of content no matter the path you pick. Can't wait for the update!
Thank you. I suspect when it's finished I'll look back and be annoyed at some of the mistakes I've made along the way. Extra systems I put in and never used, for example, like an inventory system. I was super ambitious and had to tone some stuff back.

As for the update, it's in progress but my dad's death, dog's cancer surgery, work, etc have made it go slower than I originally thought. I need to really put my nose to the grindstone.

So, I'm not sure if I've shown previews for 0.6 here but I thought I'd show some regardless so you all know I'm still alive. Development is continuing though it is far slower than I'd like. Honestly, both my parents dying has really had an impact on me and even now, nearly a year after my mother's death and 4 months after my dad's I have days where I'm super depressed and lose motivation for almost anything.

I fixed the second one. Thank you. The first one I think is a bit more ambiguous.
The pluperfect "had danced" would make sense if the rest of the narration was in a past tense (as it denotes something an action occurring before something else in the past), but here the main clause is in the present tense. But it's a very minor quibble, so do what you feel best.

"Had danced" refers to dancing in the past that is no longer true. "I had intended to confess, but decided not to." "I had many happy memories of her before..." Past tense of dance is danced.

As you say, minor quibble, but why not get it right?

So very sorry for the loss of your parents. Especially so close together like that. Has to be extremely rough. Take your time and try to heal your own self emotionally and spiritually first. Take good care of yourself. The game will be there when you are ready to work on it again.

For what it's worth I personally don't mind waiting at all, wish there was anything I could say & do to help fill the void or at least to ease some of the pain. Don't force yourself to do creative work if you don't feel like it, I'd say. Nothing wrong with taking a break, especially since you don't even demand money for your work of art. Also it might be better for the product overall, but that is something only you can judge. <3

After all you've been through, it's perfectly normal if you don't always feel good.
You don't need to apologize or feel bad if you lost your motivation.

Alright, you two convinced me. It's not like it's a hill I wanted to die on or something.

Thank you for the well wishes all. I'm still working on the game but progress is slower than I wish it was.
