Alright, you two convinced me. It's not like it's a hill I wanted to die on or something.

Thank you for the well wishes all. I'm still working on the game but progress is slower than I wish it was.

I can't even imagine what you had to go through. And the heartbreaking decision you had to take for your father.
I hope you will found some peace of mind soon.

It's been a while. Progress is still continuing and feels like it is finally picking back up.

Anyway, how about some preview pics?

Have you checked to see if you have sleep apnea? That could account for your waking up and possibly the fatigue.

I hope your sleeping and health are better now.
It varies by day. During the massive winter cold blast and snow storms in my area I got super sick for a bit. And today I'm tired but I was about 2 hours later getting to sleep than I like.

Is there a way to regain lost willpower? Taking the cop job and losing a bunch made me curious but there isn't a great deal of documentation.

Also, is there a place to report bugs/issues? In a conversation with the raven he tells you about Van Horn's sister and your character replies you didn't know he had one, but that's incorrect as you can learn about her from the hair salon on Friday.

Also, this is a small thing, but it's kind of annoying how long the game can go without giving you real control. From Friday night on for multiple days you can only make yes/no choices. I liked the freedom to explore and check out stuff at the newspaper.

There is a way to get willpower back you can find in the second week. The issue you're talking about without real control came about because I ran into a big problem. I was trying to tell a coherent story but also had started the game off as a sandbox. The problem was it became very, very difficult to keep track of what a player might do or who they might meet so I tried to make things a bit less sandboxy eventually because of it.

The sequel will be in Ren'py and will be a more straightforward branching visual novel. I'll have important moments occur regardless but give choices for things like sex scenes and stuff like that to compromise.

I imagine it's hard to balance that. I personally was excited when I started because I love sandboxes and really don't care for Visual Novels. But the time I spent in the sandbox got me invested enough to keep going even through the game got real railroad-y.

The only game I can think of off the top of my head that has a fairly coherent story (That isn't in development limbo) while also being a pretty good sandbox is Secretary or games with less sandbox style but a ton of side content like Star Knightess Aura. And that one has way less art (outside the clothing mechanic)

Not that I have played every game.

I do love how this game has art for basically every single scene though.

Awesome that you will Turn to Renpy! It is the most convenient engine to follow a Story imho.

I was really sorry to read about what you had to go through. 20 years ago I lost my 1st wife to cancer. Huge respect for the weight you shouldered.

I very much hope you can Dive into development now and take your mind off things.

My question would be about roughly how far into the story are you already? 1/3, a half, something like that?

Very much looking forward to the next updates.

Get Well and cheers to you!!!
