I like the game so far, but all my old (and unmodded) saves crashes instantly and there is no way to skip past the text when I start over from the beginning. Please sort this out.

Android version needs a menu. I misspelled a name and had to uninstall/reinstall to correct it. Also can't save. That's an issue...

You didn't need to uninstall,
Just go to:

Internal storage > Android > Data > (games file name) > Files > Saves > Delete "_reload-#-LT1.save"

Games that were ported by The66 and 0011,
Will have it's own saves in a separate data folder,
In addition to the main saves in the games data folder,
The66 uses a folder called RenPy and 0011 self titled his.

Not all android porters do that,
For instance dark assassin doesn't from what I've seen.

The game will call upon those saves if the main saves are missing,
So must find and delete that as well if it does.

Without "_reload-#-LT1.save" it won't resume progress,
It'll load up to the main menu.
