I picked up this game on a whim after Caribdis endorsed it in his discord, and I'm not gonna lie, for the first two chapters I was really struggling why he would do that. To me it seemed like a copy of "My Real Desire", ugly aesthetic and all. I was just about ready to drop it, when all of a sudden midway through chapter 3 the general production quality suddenly locked in, and it felt like I was playing a whole different game. I'm really glad to have stuck around since then especially through this most recent update which has really given the production team the opportunity to show off their skills. Keep up the good work, Nii Chan and co!

The beginning feels a bit slow and rough in places. Some early chapters show slightly outdated technical aspects, and the story starts off feeling somewhat disconnected from what it eventually becomes. Daily life scenes, moments of socializing between housemates, and the protagonist’s workdays tend to drag a little. Dialogue can feel flat, and many scenes lack momentum or emotional pull at this stage.

It initially follows a fairly standard 'harem game' formula before shifting into something much deeper and more engaging. For those who stick with it, the effort definitely pays off.

Once the story picks up, the overall atmosphere becomes one of its biggest strengths. Narrative stakes rise, there are plenty of twists, emotionally powerful scenes come into play, and action takes over more toward the end. The cast of romantic interests is large and mostly endearing.

Because of how many characters there are, though, romantic development can feel a bit rushed. Relationships often build quickly, sometimes relying on flashbacks, a recurring technique across both games, which can make things feel slightly compressed.

Still, these issues don’t take away too much from the experience. It stays enjoyable, even compelling, and I’m genuinely having a good time with it.

I'm really glad the main plot is finally gaining momentum. It was long overdue and now I can't wait to see what happens next. The cliffhanger wrapped things up nicely, hinting at tension, action and probably a bit of drama.

I was honestly surprised to see Irene show up so early. I expected that reunion to happen later, maybe right in the middle of the conflict with Aveline and her group. But still, it was great to see her again after all this time. Poor girl. x)

The early part of the game may seem a little bit arduous, with some chapters suffering from slightly outdated technical elements and an opening storyline that appear quite distant from what it will later become. Certain initial aspects, such as slice-of-life scenes, moments of socialization between the housemates, and the main character's working days, appear rather redundant or tepid, and the dialogues a bit flat, the scenes lacking a little drive and interest in this part of the game.

In fact, the beginning of the game is basically structured as a fairly classic harem game, before evolving into a completely different plot. Nevertheless, for those who persevere and invest themselves in the game, their efforts are rewarded.

The game's atmosphere is truly excellent, with strong narrative stakes, numerous little plot twists, emotionally striking scenes, plenty of action towards the end, and a large cast of sympathetic characters among the love interests. Admittedly, the time spent with the latter may seem insufficient due to their sheer number, which creates a certain sense of haste, as the development of sentimental relationships takes place over a rather short period of time and often by means of several flashbacks (a common feature of both games).

But despite these few points, the game manages to remain bearable and very enjoyable, and I'm having a great time with it.

I'm delighted that the main plot is finally taking off, it's about time, and naturally I can't wait to find out what happens next. The cliffhanger at the end was pleasant, foreshadowing moments of tension, action and no doubt a little drama. I must admit I was surprised to see Irene back so early in the story; I'd expected their reunion to come only after some time, in the midst of the conflict with Aveline and her henchmen. But otherwise it's nice to hear from her after all this time, poor thing. x)
I think this is so funny. The first three chapters really are very ... lets say simple quality and story wise. Back than when i played it, i quitted it two times during the first three chapters. Looked like just the usual boring story harem with barely interesting characters.

Thats why i think its hilarious how regularly some people appear in this thread bitching about that the avn changed away from that setup while it got so incredibly more awesome due to it :ROFLMAO:

I think some people just want to fuck their (incest) household (sorry mbml) in every game no matter what, fuck the story :ROFLMAO:

This is an announcement for what I understand to be the end of the chapter, part of the main story, right ? I admit that I didn't pay too much attention to the titles between each update/chapters.

Eh, the titles don't really matter much. To me, they simply serve as bookmarks to emphasize the start and end of an episode. What matters most is what the episode contains. More than half of the readers probably don't pay any mind to it.

Here, in Sicae though, I call it a series instead of chapters. But unlike MBML, the episode numbering will be continuous.
For example, the series we are on right now is called "Gathering of the forgotten names." The next series will then start at episode 8, which will have a different title.

I assume that the next episode will deal with the conclusion of the team's rallying around the main character, and the Dietrich clan, among other things of course as the final cliffhanger suggests. What's the planned road map between MBL and Sicae, and when can we expect this future episode 7 ?

But then these “series” count as chapters that span several episodes, marking the progression of the main story and its key moments, I presume ? I suspect that at the very end of the game, this will be a good memory aid for finding your way around the story.

Do you wanna get disappointed? :KEK:
Currently, we are running 3:1 in favor of MBML. If you're new, this game has not been updated for over a year before episode 6. But, I'm running a patron poll later to see if people want another Sicae update or simply proceed with MBML's chapter two (this is me not coping/hoping for episode 7 at all). Unfortunately, MBML is the most popular one of the two. But if it ever happens that Sicae will pick up popularity, I'm ready to swap priorities and focus on this instead. Because if you ask me, this is where the real shit is at.

Exactly.

Hey, dev, are you planning to catch up Sicae with the MBML storyline? Or will they remain standalone, as you mentioned, and progress at their own paces?

Tbh, I kind of want to see both of them in the same present timeline. It would be interesting to experience the story from the different perspectives of each MC.

Exactly.

I didn't have the chance to experience Sicae in its original version and came to it after playing MBML, so I was already aware of MBML's popularity compared to Sicae. However, I really enjoy both games, although I do find it unfortunate that Sicae is somewhat overshadowed by MBML, as it's also a fantastic game.

The main character in Sicae feels more engaging and better suited to his role than the one in MBML, and personally, I find Sicae's antagonist much more badass and charismatic.

That being said, the two storylines do share a lot of similarities, and I get the sense that in Sicae, unlike in MBML, the female characters in our "harem" are more integral to the main plot.

As for the 3:1 split in favor of MBML, I remember the earlier ratio being closer to 2:1. Since I haven't been following all the updates on Patreon or elsewhere, it's understandable that I'm not fully up to date on the latest developments.

I'll probably regret having to wait a long time for Episode 7, which is a shame, but I suppose that's the way it is. In the meantime, I'll have to make do with the MBML updates, it's not so bad, I like both games.
Thanks for your explanations, they were useful.

They will remain standalone stories. Sicae's conflicts in MBML's timeline are already over.

Same... same...
I'm writing Episode 7's outline right now, and I'm crying. Not because it's a sad episode but because it may take another year before I can paint this cinema on canvas.

So please for the love of god, anyone with $1 in their pockets, please vote for Sicae. LMAO! :KEK:
