sure there is, you messed up somehow, there are several hundred new renders in 1.24.2

That's what I don't understand. I've played every update and save before the last render telling you to save. But both the new update and previous update end at same place. Each one says that it's the end of there perspective build but same exact place. So im just not sure how i could possibly mess it up. I loaded a older save but still ended at the same place. I give up. Its become boring anyways.
And that is why you wait unti the game is finished. No need to play these small updates at all.

Are they still in the holding pattern that they were in before. Where things aren't really moving forward and that every update seem like nothing much is happening?

I think that depends on what you define as progress. Personally, I would argue that the fact that Frank talks to Vanessa about assuming that Shannon and him only got together because Shannon knew she could get under Jess' skin this way after the X vs 1 clique situation failed spectacularly. And let's all be honest, all flashbacks are biased because our narrator is Frank, but from what we've seen of her in the present and the emotional damage (see Lilly and Becca's side stories) she's left on her daughters it wouldn't be surprising. At least for me it wouldn't be much of a surprise right now.
Beth choosing Frank as a donor (or not) is also something that is somewhat relevant. Not a big deal, but still.
Then there's the Lilly situation. She's made huge leaps since day one in the plot in terms of her character development and now trusts Frank, but I find it quite understandable that she still has issues with sharing Frank, as she's had to fight for pretty much everything for most of her life without ever really getting recognition or validation (at most from Abby, I doubt she would have heeded positive feedback from Frank back then). Accordingly, she is still a long way away from consciously sharing Abby (with Frank). And the idea of Abby being shared with Becca, I don't think I need to go into how far away she is from that.

I'm just waiting for a new game to be called Get On With It Already: A Frustration Simulator. A lot of games I'm playing right now feel like that. I still like this one, but it does need to move on. Next release is yet another day at the pool. They keep talking in game about all of this stuff they are going to do, then never do it because they'd rather do the same things over and over. Then again, what else can you expect from a story about the world's worst real estate agent?
What I would like to see that might help pacing a bit, instead of an either/or for a trip to the cabin or the trip to the tropical resort... do both. There is still time before the resort trip that you aren't paying a dime for, so take a long weekend trip up to the cabin and see what it's like. See if you want to keep it or sell it. Hell, it's probably big enough to be able to move the whole family in, and not cram everyone into a couple of studio apartments.

Beth stated that it is small, only 2 bedrooms. Its been modernized and has something special in the basement (guessing indoor pool and/or sauna, I bet I know which set will be used for it if I'm right) but it is definitely not big enough to move everyone in to.
I think I'm about to start the new content, just got through the rewritten previous release. Disappointed that the dev caved and completely removed Lily & Abby as a couple. I suppose doing so will prevent the complication of adding a new unplanned subroute or something, but of all things that really shoulda been a choice. I thought they were great together.
The Dev should have caved on many more things like freedom of choice to choose without GAME OVER

I don't know if anyone else has had this issue but the walkthrough says there should be more content and the image files in the game folder supports that statemen but the game version ends before any of those actually take place in game
