there should be a way to export the SMA controls to VAM to be able to do the ones you get with VR but on pc

hm, for me the button to disable the camera still works, normally you will see the last frame when you disable it, if you move in front of the camera you should not see live video.

Alternatively, you can install BepInEx+XUnity.AutoTranslator. This will be faster than waiting until different languages can be added

I just installed everything today and it's working fine but I'm on Windows 10.
The installation was essentially correct (on a separate drive). BepInEx was not loading and failing silently. This is an open source framework allowing Monkey to attach to the Unity process. Without it, nothing will work.
While a reboot 'fixed' it, we were unable to identify the root cause unfortunately.
The most common issues of 'Monkey doesn't work' have been:
- Incorrect versions
- Files in the wrong place
- Non-ascii characters in install or document path (breaks Bep)
- A/V or smart screen blocks
- Incompatible plugins
- Etc.
I'll update the documentation to include a 'reboot' step. In this process I did setup a test instance of Windows 11/pro just in case and found no issues in both native and sandbox.
100% of 'Monkey doesn't work' I've investigated last year were user side setup. So please before asking for help try to follow the install instructions to the letter. If stumped, post here or pm me, and I'll do my best to help out.

Updates have typically been monthly, but the last update took 2 months ~10 days. If the previous cadence is followed, we will have an update within two weeks.

While I still find the lack of public communication unacceptable, he does put in a lot of code each release.
I don't have any direct insight into the release date or content, but he told me a while back he was working on something 'big' and is aware he can't go too long without shipping something.
Based on his few Patreon posts, this could be anything from revamped gameplay to VR. Or we get a 'fall back' release with minor improvements because whatever things he tried didn't pan out. We can run a poll... your guesses are as good as mine.
I plan to release a new version of Monkey about a week after game release. This of course will depend on how many things broke. So far the release contains several bug fixes, improvement for custom scenes lighting and keys will no longer activate Monkey when you are in a modal popup (like save).
