First off check for updates. In most cases that will fix it. The mod is literally just text files, feel free to open any of the files in a text editor, and see for yourself.
Second, don't trust Windows Defender when it comes to Python. It's been a known issue for several years and has to do with their heuristics being overly sensitive for raw or bytecode Python, giving a lot of false-positives.

After install some lines are cut off and replaced by a diamond shape with a question mark at the center. Lines which were fine prior to install.
Edit: Further checked, it seems as if anytime three periods (...) the game bugs out a bit and replaces it with the mentioned symbol. Example of this is when protagonist goes looking for Asian girl after dragon knocks him unconscious. When he goes to the council place thing we see a scene where a lamia is speaking with a fat chick and says "Dagna..." but the dots are replaced.
