DnD, and I completely managed to misspell it, well nothing new there and now I'm probably going to fix that since I noticed it, sodding translations.

It seems pretty interesting, but right now most of the tags used dont apply. I see potential, but right now theres netflix shows with more porn than this one.

The pause feature patch might be bit wonky on few scenes, this is because I'm testing on how few things are working. If required I'll update the patch to work with those bits as well. But it should work normally on 95% of the time.

I think you should add "romance" to tags

What does the patch do?
Short answer: more clicking.
Longer answer:
Normally the images changes automatically without clicking the mouse button (or space bar) every second when there is no dialogue going on. The patch changes things so that you need to click to change the images regardless is there dialogue or not.

Ah, thanks for getting back to me, you're really active on here. I think I'll be making use of the patch, I don't like it when things are inconsistent.
Also, I had a flick through the comment pages and I was pleased with your stance on sandbox games. Each to their own and all that, but I'm sick of downloading games, playing them for an hour, only for it to turn into a sandbox game.. They're so tedious.

I really like that people are trying new stories instead of two girls and a milf in same house cliche.

It was requested feature, and the auto changing is mostly to save peoples fingers. As with TRS there were 6000+ images, so that paired with dialogue... And I suspect that this one ends up with the same if not more images in the end.

And since it was easy enough to make, why not. Sure there are things that aren't "under the patch" but that is to test few things and see how they work in larger scheme. And if it comes to that the patch is easy enough to update.

Ok, I am really confused/intrigued/curious about the different route's in this update
Without more content it also seems like a weird split in the story magic/gun courier route or something.
Also seems interesting that you are making more coins than the one Li Zhou wants? And if you dare accept there is some "art" with her and Tamara. On the other route I have no clue what is going on..

Either way not enough content to get any answers and a curious split in the story.

Looking forward to see how this develops and if the other "choices" contain variables and to what end if they do.

Yeah I've come across that feature in other games and I've always found it a little startling when your not use to it. I think I just prefer to control the pace, though I can see the appeal.

Curious though, couldn't this be achieved by simply using the 'auto' feature in Renpy, as opposed to building it into the game? I always see it in the preferences but I've never bothered to use it.

Without spoilers, both paths have their place, and will affect things differently later on, some dialogue is different, some events play differently. When it is their time to play out that is.

And about the coins, don't over think it. The extra material purchased is to ensure that at least one of the resulting coins is "perfect", Kai comments on it later on. As for the other things, that remains to be seen on later date.

Probably? I'm not honestly that familiar with the feature so I can't really say. But ultimately it is about control and how I would like to present the story. Auto feature most likely wouldn't work like I would want, and I'm smart enough not to mess with a system I don't know anything about and create myriad problems that I can't fix as easily fucking it up would be. Right now, the pause feature is literally two lines of code in init block.

Yeah, fair enough, usually the simplest solution is the best. I was just curious is all. I'm in the process of gathering DAZ resources to start making my own game so I'm just trying to pick up little tidbits of information here and there. The costs really add though and up fairly quickly too, so it's a slow process so far. It's given me an appreciation for developers like yourself who have put the time and money in simply to get off the ground. It's actually damn impressive when you get a glimpse at what goes into these games.

I don't know about assets costs and prices and hours needed for posing, lightning and rendering and stuff
but anyone can throw money around for highend GPUs, assets or hiring freelance artists but in my humble opinon
creating a story and a setting / lore than turning it into a storyboard and than machting asstes available
to the storyboard, maybe adapt if need AND make it a great story with consistent story telling,
maybe even with limited assets, NOW THAT'S the real art for me.

And that's what Talothral does really well, aside from creating great stories to begin with.

Oh and that is by no means any critique or harm meant here or anything like that, only praise for his work.

Yeah, I don't have any of that. I'm just using a old crappy laptop that's on its last legs. I've been in the planning stage of the game for a few months now so I've got a pretty good outline of how it's gonna start, what the character's personalities are going to be and the general themes that are going to implemented throughout the game. It's just gathering the resources I need to actually put it all into action and just hope my laptop doesn't die under the workload. I also intend to do everything myself and most likely offer the game for free, but I live paycheck to paycheck so getting everything I need is going to take a lot of time.

Too lazy to quote at this hour so Shenhan & Kitchentable.

Lightning takes time, posing is really quick once you figure it out.

And asset can cost a lot, but you write using the assets you have as that is easier that way. Or in my case, I adapt the writing to the assets that are available. And that is the biggest asset you can have, adaptability.

The "restaurant" where you meet with Li, her apartment, and the building in the scene with Aya and Miyuki is made with the same building blocks. Alexander's original apartment was made with build a room kit, with props from i13's On My Own set, just used some shaders over the default textures. And visually people are forgiving if it doesn't look too much out of the place. That is why, in the corridor scene with the inquisitors all the door frames have identical door to Alexander's apartment over the default door's it came with. Of course, that was bit more work but it doesn't look out of place, granted the whole corridor looks like some architect designed it while on LSD in the '70s but that is minor detail.

I could talk about the whole thing for an hour or two, but that would make this too off topic :p But I'm willing to answer to questions and talk about it, when time permits.

Shenhan, I meant no disrespect or anything. Just saying that there are alot folks out there
who try to compensate lack of skill, heart and story with money.

You know, good looks on the surface but nothing behind it. Like Ubisoft games.

Being passionate and caring about small details is what count most, as it will always show!
