Well, as that's bound to come up in every thread I can comment on it nowThis is the new way to get longevity out of a game, you have to start a new game after every update?
- In the Princess I had the "Continue from Act X" approach
- In Space Journey X I decided to implement a forward compatible save point mechanism (available from V0.4 onwards), which allwos you to carry your valuable gear forward into new releases to reduce the grid.
I wrapped it into a little quest to make it a game element (multiverse pod).
- As to full save game compatibility for python/renpy:
Considering all future data structures, return stack permutations and save points that might be "out in the wild", I have no idea how to do that.
To use a quote from Elrond: "This is beyond any craft which I possess..."
So I hope the reduced basic grind as well as the savepoint feature from V0.4 will help.
I also slip in new content into the "old" gameplay part with every release to make replaying more rewarding.
Other option is of course to wait for the finished game around March 2024.

This game seems so simple at first glance, but suddenly it turns out to be so catchy! Very nice thing so far. And these hints of the Elite, the beep when docking to the station, the rating of the pilot is "Mostly Harmless", the type of government of the planet, it's priceless
If you look in the hints (on the phone in the top right) it says (V0.5) for that quest, so I think we have to wait for the next update to find her.
No there is nothing wrong with you, just normal as the rest of us. Those haten on sandbox are just people who prefer instant gratification and all rewards handed to them, not that there is anything wrong with that, it's a porn game after all.
This is very odd. I assumed you used a proper new game.
Map should be available right away. The map after purchase is in your inventory and you can give it to T'Ris.
Issue has never been reported on V0.4 before (out for weeks on patreon)
I would be interested in the save game. Appreciate if you could post it here.

Thanks. For some reason her inventory didn't update (is renewed once per day).
Go to your ship, sleep, visit her again and the map is there.
Will put that one as a bug in the buglist (could be a weird Renpy "back" thing, where sometimes the state is not perfectly rolled back)

Dose it call strings for her inventory at new day or on the new day when you open her inventory for the first time.
You can also set a keep string but repopulate list command line to help it some times dose update strings to the list but isnt properly executing any function for inventory after doing so, as in it makes the list of what's in the inventory but dosent associate graphics nor interactivity scripts for them, so refreshing the list but keeping the daily strings for that days inventory list just means you only need close and reopen her inventory for it to work as intended, if the formention is acually the issue.
Also, take note I did c+ back in the day I have nor plan to do any renpy stuff, as I just dont have the passion for it anymore. But I still love the conceptual side of game making. It also means I understand how coding for the most part works but forgive me if I'm not up to terms on the new stuff.

I'm baffled...
Can you do the following ( takes 5 min, doable in Game day 1 or 2)?
- Start a new game, quickly run through intro, fix engine and land on the station.
- Go to the bar, wait (click on the gambling machine to pass time) until evening and talk to shady (twice, as she blows you off the first time)
- Map should be there.
Alternatively:
- (Re) Install the game in a fresh folder, dump your save in there, load save, sleep one night, voila.

Okay, now I gonna explain what I did in the last save, maybe its useful for you
I did not go straight to the bar, neither even met the trader, I only got the mining stuff, and went off to farm... I think, around day 20-30 I tried to get the map, cause I was updating the ship stuff, later got tired and used the universal mod to get money, the URM that u can find it here on f95 ...ah, and was a new game, did not tried to load previous saves as suggested

Even D/L the game from F95, dumped your save in, loaded save, pressed back a few times until your gambling machine activity, talked to shady: All there
Will have a look at the URM.
Btw.: With the map and access to better locations and sexbots you get a ton of money
Hope that senseless grind the bug caused didn't spoil the game for you, as I tried to make it playable with very little grind.
(Also, you can alway use GAME.money = 10000 etc on the command line in my games as well... )
