I used the tunneling modules often after giving space assistance. I ended up buying a lot of them and just plugging them into unfinished routes just so I would have spares.

Also, I was curious, will there be both both a good and evil path? It seems like you can help in some cases but also steal. So I was curious if reputation would go both up and down.

It might be interesting to play as a pirate. Though I do think having branching directions can just be a lot of mindless work for a developer if that isn't really in service of the overall plot. I assume there will be some sort of overall plot in this case.
At the moment, there is a REP attribute for positive reputation (which you need for getting Nimhe onboard) and a NOT attribute for notoriety (which has no impact yet).
Was thinking about the negaitive route, but that would only make sense for smuggling, piracy, slave trading, which doesn't fully fit with T'Ris onboard. Also the slaving part would be a bit iffy... So I shelved it at the moment.

Maybe it would make sense to bring up NOT in order to do an undercover mission later on Tenaris where the pirates are... not decided yt

I forgot that I made objects for the missions. You can wipe the missions entirely by "GAME.missions = []" in the console

Perhaps it would be possible to corrupt T'Ris so she would be okay with smuggling, piracy, slave trading, etc... but as I said earlier sometimes adding another path isn't really worth the effort.... better to have one good plot path than two so-so paths. So I am not rooting for a dark path. I was just curious what you had in mind.

To dispell any concerns... yes, it was a typo and 25.03. is the correct EA date for stage 2.
Sometimes my releases are a few days late but never a month ;)

Is the save system going to be incompatible with every version going forward? Coming from V0.2 into V0.3, all previous saves are deemed incompatible and the game forces a restart. Is there no way of making a rigid save system or creating a port for old saves into the new structure? Alternatively a feature to skip to V0.X from the start while it is being developed.

If this is going to be one of those games that will just force you to restart every update, I don't see much of a point in playing it until it's done.

That said, I think the gameplay has great potential, and I love the art direction so far.

i fear the same cause the previous game had that problem.
I really liked his other game but even with the later implemented chapter restart i never got to finish it... it was just too frustrating to repeat and grind again every update i hope with this one it will be different otherwise even when the first version left a good impression i would wait to play again when its finished.

In version 0.4 of Space Journey X I integrated some inventory carry over into the gameplay.

Once you have solved a certain quest, you can send your valuable spaceship components & gear "forward" to your next incarnation (aka new version) with a "multiverse pod". Hope this approach works and cuts grinding time.

Also grinding level has been generally cut to about 25% of Princess I'd say

that is a helpful aproach but in my opinion more suited for a simulator instead of an vn because it kill all immersion.
but i think most players will be fine with it cause 95%+ are only here for the porn and would even play if it were only a slideshow of sexy scenes. but for a story game savegame compatibility would really be greate. i have only very little knowlege of renpy programming but maybe an save import would be possible where on loading the new chapter would read and translate existing variables the player choose to the new changed game script like you plan to do it with gear and component, wich wold be like just resuming your save but maybe simpler for you when a lot of code changes (maybe even a seperated save slot at the end of each update in wich point only story and item variables were saved)

sorry for the wall of text but i really liked the storytelling and even more the char desing
(tried to recreate irith and that was really a pain to identify the used assets XD)
from your last game and were impressed with the improvements in render quality in this one (story so far seems also interesting)

Irith is rather standard Genesis 8 with Toon Princess Morph (60%), slightly shorter legs, slightly modified skin, GUF teeth morphs and RFH Hair. And breasts are from Headlight anatomy add-on.
Clothes were top half of Princess Dress and some Mystique items, recolored to pink/gold

I've looked into the renpy code and, for a sandbox game with a ton of softwaredesign-under-development , couldn't come up with any custom load/save routines except the simple one described above, which I integrated as a game component so its not too immersion breaking.

Also, this time I try to branch out with new content from the start instead of tacking onto the end like in the princess, this may also make the game more replayable.

XD damn should have asked earlyer... because i know only the eye textures gave me slight problems but i think i naiiled the other parts

Honestly am not into tags like trainer, Sex Toys, Voyeurism, Humiliation, Exhibitionism, Bdsm. However this looks like a great hopefully good comedy set up. Bots, chicks, and a solitary dude. Could be an interesting story line. Will be checking it out and hopefully be able to avoid the before mentioned tags. That is if the developer allowed a work around or two for those. Guess we will see. if not please consider placement of some kind of way to avoid those tags not everyone likes them. Thanks for the share am hoping for the best in checking it out and for your work here. Very much like the over view and postings shared. Thanks again and good luck.

The bdsm part like in the Princess is optional. The V, H, E tags are not main game content, just added them for sake of clarity.
Anyway, just try the gam if you haven't and if you don't like it suggestions are welcome.
