Somewhere in this thread you can find a post by the dev (or a post citing the dev) where he explains that the mechanics of this game are broken beyond repair and he therefore left it in the state it is now. He then went to develop Rise of the Exalted, but that wasn't a success and after a poll for his supporters they wanted Stationmaster 2 instead, so he abandoned RotE in favor of SM2.
So you can either play this game in the state it is, or you don't. There is no other option, and lamenting about it won't change anything.

can i just point out how hilarious it is that people complain about a game they're getting for free (on here) being unfinished and buggy, but they're also probably the same kind of people that champion bethesda with it's still buggy and unfinished games, or sing the praises of ubisoft.

just take the good thing you've been given - a vast, quite expansive trainer game - even if it is buggy and unfinished, because you paid nothing for it and have lost nothing playing it.

I mean. Thanks to that comments i know the game is buggy and unfinished so i will not download it.
The introduction and images were awesome but knowing the full history that´s it.
Even if free, one can make and opinion. As long as a moderator doesn´t need to step in because of some bad behaviour.

ok, let me try to appeal to your inner gamer then.

do you buy modern games? there's a solid 80% chance that you, then, buy buggy and unfinished games. you have therefore wasted money on something buggy and unfinished. you can't just get rid of it because that's upwards of £70 that you just bought, and therefore you feel you need to play it anyway. so you waste time and money. then because you feel the need to get your money's worth, you trick yourself into continuing to play it. granted, it could be fun, but there's a high chance i'ts a generic game you've seen hundreds of times before. so you've wasted time, money, effort, your mental wellbeing, and possible dipped into the sunk cost fallacy to keep yourself engaged.

but, you could download stationmaster, a free game that's buggy and unfinished, that you lose nothing for if you download it. you have wasted no money, might have a fun experience, and the only thing you might waste is time - but even then you don't care about time if you're trawling this website now, do you?

I've enjoyed many hours in Stationmaster, but it's still a flawed and buggy mess with a huge memory leak problem that makes any sustained play unfeasible. I've also enjoyed many hours in Free Cities without any of these problems.

The bigger issue is the project's lack of a meaningful end. So it's been a few years now and I don't care to go hunting for specifics to reinforce my point, but if memory still serves the way this all got wrapped up was with the release of a 1.1 version that came unceremoniously after 0.6 (or something similarly jarring which shouldn't precede it). This was simply a quick and dirty way to end the game's updates and call it done. The dev's gone on to Quid Pro Quo, which got scrapped nearly as quickly as it was presented as a proof of concept, and then RoE - which didn't have much more longevity. But you know all that as your earlier post already elaborated upon.

Simply put, he doesn't have a very good track record is all I'm saying. Guy can conceptualize some great ideas and deliver the sales pitch, even if some of them are repackaged ideas from another game. But whether he bites off more than he can chew or just doesn't have the lasting power to see something through to its end, the state of all of his games so far have been development hell that leads to something unfinished.

I've continued to follow progress on SM2 out of curiosity, and because I liked what he was doing with SM1. But the slow updates/communication combined with the overall lack of interest in his recent work doesn't seem very promising. He's quit and moved onto other things over less in the past.

i get what you mean, but my main point was that the game is a free game that you waste a bit of time on and then move on, and in that time you might have fun, or you might not. of course the game's slightly disappointing, but i think i might be too biased; i've played so many games on here that have just been abandoned by the devs for no foreseeable reason, or have been rushed to completion and then forgotten about. and i'll be honest, this game scratches that slavemaker itch still have that can never be scratched. Monster Black Market sort of did it, and stationmaster too; but nearly every game that i play that could rival or even surpass slavemaker just...stops, or gets 'finished'. so i guess i've been conditioned to just like any game that has pregnancy as a mechanic instead of an ending, and a management system, regardless of how good it is.

Both SM and SM2 are trying to be Free Cities in space, which is a great concept but the overall implementation is average to mediocre at best. FC Preg mod (gross content aside) isn't perfect but general implantation of what it's trying to do is overall better despite it being 2d/text only. With the general abandonment of WEBGL 3D art by FC Preg Mod and SM2 shifting to its new AI art engine, I think both are not headed into great areas. I get AI art is easier, but it's implementation is pretty sloppy.

SM2 is half baked and the design choices are kind of strange. Anyone who has played any kind of building/management game in the last 10 years should know what a decent UI should be like.

yk whats annoying. games that offer such control on subjects are so hard to find. i particularly don't mind the terrible graphics or god forsaken memory leaks. but i really do want content that gives the illusion of mc in control from all aspects. is there nothing that offers this and extremes as well?

Stationmaster Mod Collection

It's done.
Stationmaster 1.0 is now available on . If you're a patron (brothel owner or above), you should be able to download it by (I'm still learning their system, so please let me know if there are any issues). Otherwise, it's officially for sale (though it's cheaper to become a patron).

I'd like to take this space to thank everyone who has been a part of this project, whether you've pledged money, submitted bugs/suggestions, or created content yourselves. This game wouldn't be what it was without you, and I'm indescribably grateful for everything.

Over the next week or two, I'll be switching everything here over to Quid Pro Quo. I don't know how things are going to play out, but, with your involvement, I think it's going to be a hell of a ride.

Overview:

This is a game about slavery and war in an age without rules of engagement. As a player, you will have the option to commit several crimes against humanity. If that's not your cup of tea (sexually or otherwise), I respect your moral luck, but you will likely find everything about this game horrifying. That said, all characters are over 18, and I don't think anyone should do anything described in this game in real life (except maybe for sitting at a desk all the time, but even that's not good for your back). Stationmaster is a base-building game with a 4X space strategy component and a heavy focus on sexual slavery. You are the owner of a space station, and build it from a small-time floating brothel to the center of a galactic empire.
