I don't mean to make this sound bad but it's long overdue adding all these new things in is good but keeping the game running good is a idea too. sorry if this make me sound like an arsehole (maybe I am) but I'm a good kind of arsehole.I'm not sure if it was my best idea ever to schedule this after the gender overhaul instead of before, but 0.22 will be solely focused on polish and performance. I think that's overdue.
You're not wrong (or an asshole). I think I jumped the gun on the gender overhaul because of the promise of meeting a stretch goal. I am very hopeful on the development of this game, and maybe some polish is needed. my last venture into your game was on version 0.19. Sluggishness wasn't affecting me much on my rig, at the time on a low end rig. I think many are trying too much on underperforming hardware and blaming you for it. However, I lost interest in the cinematics of the game. Don't get me wrong I like where your head is at and where you want to go with your game but, I just felt the animations were lacking primarily in sexing your own slave.You're not wrong (or an asshole). Awesome, time to make a new game and just train a "few" slaves instead of sending several dozens to the training room, which takes forever to raise their stats.Yup. Just replace the file.

Don't beat yourself up over it! You're right that it's probably a good time to take a step back and look at the codebase from a performance perspective, but that would have been pointless if you did it before you had sketched out most of the parameters. This is still just a 0.20 alpha of the game, so I hope you don't feel too locked into any structural or programmatic choices you've already made. If a refactor is necessary to make the game more performant and it happens to break everyone's saves or dramatically change the mechanics of the game, so be it. Not to mention if they really hate furries that much, this would give them ample opportunity for feeding them all into lethal combat, space horrors and out the odd airlock. Not to mention the ability to purge entire worlds of Xenos scum.Furries are an option, not an integral part of the game, don't see why'd anyone would complain about extra.
I solved it by eliminating slaves wandering around. I deleted all hallways and filled every available open space with objects/furniture. When the slaves/tourists have to teleport everywhere the sluggishness disappears. I could play with far more slaves than the default settings without hitting a slideshow. I still think the pathfinding must be at least partly causing some sluggishness issues.
EDIT: that was in 0.19 though. I haven't played this updated version yet. still downloading.
EDIT #2: putting it on an SSD seemed to help a lot as well. The time I created a ramdisk to test if it was thrashing causing the issue it played the best, but I agree with other commenters that a ramdisk shouldn't be required.
^ He isn't wrong, journalists, prophetBTW, after adding dragons and possibilities to birth them this game has more content than 7 seasons of GoT and way more logical and reasonable story behind + you can throw to space every anoyng character. HBO should be funding this IMHO )
While my computer isn't top of the line I can handle most new games pretty well. But when I get less frames on this late game than say Far Cry 5 some work on optimization would be nice. Side note: How do you get more tourists, even with 4 gates I only have around 40-50 at all times with close to 120 slaves now.
