I'm not asking if it is abandoned, but is it being worked on right now? Is there any progress? How much of the update is done?

Yes, it is being worked on right now.
Atem just posted an update to Patreon ~14 hours ago, and privately in DMs we were talking just a couple hours ago about the work he was doing on it literally this morning before heading out to other obligations for the day.
He doesn't generally give progress numbers/completion or expected update timing because it almost always ends up being wrong when he does. Just like every prior update, it will be out when it's done.
Oh wow, this was a while ago. I had to read what what I said before to even see what this was about. My main point with my response was that ghost behaviour isn't 100% consistent with what the main character has been told they can do. Whilst in the universe, ghosthunting has been going on for a very long time, as you can imagine it was once tied to more alchemy and religious basis. Now modernised, it's more of a science thing, and therefore theory based. Essentially, it's pattern recognition, and whilst some of those patterns might be very consistent, that doesn't 100% mean that the rules that have been made in response to those patterns are hard fact. The first ghost is meant to demonstrate that somewhat. However, if I were to do it again, I'd have had MC and Sasha go out on a few far less elaborate ghost hunts where the ghost absolutely does adhere to the established rules, before then showing the one you currently see in game. Purely to provide a bit of contrast between what's known, and what's new.. One of my regrets I suppose.
(Important to note, the game doesn't currently go into what I've just said. That's basically the reasoning for it, but it's only really a spoiler if you assume I'm not going anywhere with the ghost hunting stuff beyond it being some random gimmick.)
I wasn't trying to say it's a type 5. As far as MC is concerned, Sasha's word is law when it comes to ghosts. I originally planned to let the player choose type 5 or type 1, but I decided that Sasha not immediately calling it out if you tried would either diminish how dangerous she knows type 5s to be, or diminish her competence. There's such a thing as unexpected results, but for Sasha to believe that that thing was a type 5 or type 1 would be like a zooligist mistaking a chameleon for crocodile or a gecko.
I shan't comment on your theories because basically I can only deny or confirm them as the dev. I guess I could just say "Interesting..." as well, so I'll go with that. I do find it fun that people come up with theories about my stuff though. It's nice.
What Tiur said just below your comment, basically. Hard to quantify how much of the update is done, but all the current sex scenes are done, of which I think there's 7. If I feel it's needed, I might add one more since the update is currently a little lacking in that department for romance players, but I dunno yet. I'll decide when I get to that point. It sits around 3000 renders with 110 animations or something currently, so if the worry is that I haven't been working on it, there's no need to worry.

Yeah I kinda went through the thread looking for any mentions of the ghost because I was curious if I picked the correct answer and I didn't notice how long ago your reply was...
Anyway, mostly I just wanted confirmation if I made the right choice, and then I thought of multiple different theories which I added... not sure why. I just started typing whatever came to my mind

Regarding the actual type of the ghost, I think I've explained somewhere in all the pages why I haven't officially revealed it (Anywhere. Not even in the code) but just in case, I'll say it below.
Getting it wrong will be assumed by most players to be the objectively wrong thing to do. If I make the ghost type public, many people will go back to change what they did, waaay before it has any kind of effect. This isn't the kinda game where there's really meant to be objectively wrong or right decisions, so I've kept it secret. Whether you got it wrong or right, you just get different stuff. No dumb game overs or whatever. All I'll say on the matter is that many people have got it wrong, however enough people have got it right to tell me that the clues left in my navigationally flawed ghost hunt were definitely enough.
I basically just don't want this to be the kinda branching game where you have to worry about whether a decision will get you less stuff overall, and so I try to make sure all choices are just a case of getting different stuff, instead of less stuff. No random character deaths or whatever. That's why I haven't revealed it. I don't want people assuming that getting the ghost type wrong will mean game over 3 hours later, and not everyone is gonna read the thread, so instead I just never told anyone the actual answer. Make your choice, own it, but do so assuming you're not gonna regret it unless you're making choices against your own interests. That kinda thing.

Umm, 49,153 characters long... Yeah I don't know who reads this. Maybe someone with text to speech? Anyway... Same thing as every game I play, pretty much anything I think is worth commenting on is in there. 52/52 scenes, 19/19 pictures, 22/26 onions because I couldn't find Riley's jacuzzi onion and that ghost hunting nonsense was way too spooky for me.

Man the Sasha sex scene is so incredibly hot, but she is just so adorable and sweet that I'm taking emotional damage playing her slave route. No game has done this to me before. Either the sex-scenes are hot and I don't mind mistreating the girl or I like the girl and the scenes aren't hot enough for me to mistreat her. But I'm in a dilemma here. So good job I guess lol

Actually the last devlog was on August 24th, but yeah, I'm putting most of my free time into the update at the moment. I want this thing out asap, but not at the expense of cutting corners. This pretty much means it's gonna be 12-15 hour days for me aside from the occasional day off until the update is complete.

Ah, I completely overlooked this, sorry. I saw the latest post about the removed render post and somehow it made me think that it was a render post and not a devlog, that's on me
As ironic as it is that I'm going to say this after apologizing to the dev for misreading the patreon post, you also seem to struggle reading. I clearly said patreon and not f95.
The namecalling is unnecessary though, I don't care if you have problems in your real life or something, but no need to take it out on people online. Maybe get some therapy or something?
