The game updates old saves automatically, when you load from new ver
but do not use old version saves from interactions or events, it may cause errors

Before you ask lil sis about step family, talk to the Lawyer, Bank Manager, and Mom, then try to search for them in residence area... I think this will work, i had the same problem, then i first talked them all, then it stops, I found MC's Step family from Residence area also.
