are you switching to 12+ months per release schedule, perhaps?
Don't worry, nothing is wrong with the update, it's just far, far bigger in every single way than was originally intended. There's actually more content than in the base release, which was not my intention, but here we are.
The scheduling/plans change after this update is being made in order to avoid more delays in the future. Hopefully it works!

As the initial release was far larger than just about any other initial release that I have come across, I say well done, your truly smashing it.
I really enjoyed this game! Love the style, characters and story. Does anyone know how many days the next update will be? Since this update is larger than the initial release will this be 8+ days too or just more content per day?
The update is 100% guaranteed releasing this month, and it's 5 total days. There's more content per each day. For example, Day 4's script file has 1,200 lines. Day 10's has over 5,000.
Wooo just finished this and I've gotta say I really dig it. The art is awesome, the characters are all great, and the animations/dialogue for the lewd scenes? Jesus. When MC fed Claire his cum off the table and then out of her pussy I about lost it not even gonna lie. The plot took a turn that I really wasn't expecting and got me pretty curious about what will happen next. Harem, pregnancy, and lactation tags are real nice to see too.
Is it wrong of me to hope Claire is somehow in a cryopod on the ship and will wake up at some point? Probably not right? I mean a man can dream. Wildman keep it up, this shit is good.

This is one i'll deff keep my eye on.
I absolutely love the humour in it, the characters are great and the underlying plot is interesting enough to keep me hooked.
The only bit i'm wary of is the few times Paige brings up the MC taking things in a darker direction.
If it's an optional thing like it suggests then I can stick with my romance shit because i'm a soppy tart. I hate corruption and all that crap.
Only reason it has me wary is it looks like the MC is a massive douche going on flashbacks but we'll see.

Just finished the first 8 days and have to say it was good. Though I want to echo Avaron here... (replace soppy tart with whatever the male equivalent is)
I'm hoping the talk of being able to be a new man moving forward and not be the douche we see in the flashbacks but also not needing to be a pushover can be up to the player.
I think the MC had a good point when he said to Paige that being a dick who just bangs everyone without caring will likely turn half the girls against him anyway. Which puts him in the same if not a worse position then if he is more open and romantic.
I am wondering who everyone picked as the "roommate." For me it was easy, Camila.
And who did you pick to wake up? I went with Daphne over Nemy, again it was an easy choice for me, but I am curious who others went with?
Also, does anyone have any thoughts on who the evil person might be? I think there are some girls we can rule out but there are several it could be. My money right now is on Alina, but there are few others that are up there in my mind. Though I can't remember who woke up the earliest and it's quite possibly one of them.

Does anyone know what the "News + Release Date Announcement" post on patreon says? Is the game coming out this month?
For $5 Patrons and higher, the next 3 days (9-11) are out on April 26th.
The next 2 days (12-13) are out on May 26th.
After that, 2 day blocks of content should be out about every 45-50 real-world days.
Each coming in-game day has more content than any day in the base release.

All that texting done on the computer .. does it unlock scenes? It boosts relationships? Set up dates?
It sets up future already-going-to-happen scenes, gives a large amount of context to the story and the characters, develops relationships down their arcs, etc.
The laptop system was designed because there are so many characters in Stranded in Space that it's impossible to realistically see all of them every single day. So talking with them online and learning about the girls can help to develop their arcs/personalities/relationships to the MC, in between their actual scenes.
It's mainly for people who play these games not just for the lewd content, but for plot/character work.
There are minor decisions throughout, they impact/unlock lewd pics, different conversation branches... there are some smaller mini games, etc.
Edit: Just to add one last thought to this, I'm guessing you're mainly asking from a non-linear/kinetic perspective. The laptop system/Stranded in Space is not a sandbox game. There are/will be a ton of decisions as the game is continually updated, but it is (and always will be) a kinetic/mostly linear game.

A lot of that was clarified and this all talk and sometimes not enough show builds up expectations
for when we actaully meet the girls and experience what is it we got left to talk to them about face to face.

If I may ask, what happened to (10 days ago proclaimed) "The update is 100% guaranteed releasing this month, and it's 5 total days."?
Perhaps it would be for the best to not promise anything, starting with the release dates and days/content per updates. There is more than few devs doing/did it, and it rarely, if ever, turns well.
My three cents only ofc.
It's a fair criticism, and while there are reasons(excuses) for why the game is being released in this way, I can understand your position.
And I'm well aware that a lot of devs fall prey to this. Going forward, I definitely don't want this to become a habit.
Anything else I would add to this would fall under the banner of, "Then why'd you promise?"
So instead I'll say: I hope you'll play the game regardless, because there's a lot of cool stuff in the coming updates.
