I know we haven't been very communicative since our last devlog, and I thought it's time to talk about some things.
This year, for reasons I’ll get into later on, I had a pretty slow start. I'd developed a pretty decent rhythm of rendering by the time of the announcement (which is why we went with the ‘Summer’ window, giving ourselves September 20th as the latest release date), yet I kept encountering too many issues I hadn't predicted.
I mentioned before that the best way I’ve found to speed up the process is to leave my PC rendering batches of renders overnight. The thing is, whenever I do this, I cannot watch what's happening and there's been some batches that kept coming out with strange issues, like wrong hair color, shirts that didn't conform the characters’s body (you wouldn’t believe the amount of renders I’ve had to redo due to this) and many others that have been nothing short of frustrating.
Now, going back, the main reason my pace has been irregular is because of changes at my workplace. I thought this year would be chiller than the last and planned accordingly, but I was recently moved to a different position with other responsibilities involving travel and supervising people, which has left me with less time for SoP than I’d like to have. This is not an excuse, it's my way of telling you that I'm putting in the work when I'm at home — there’s just been less of that time for me.
All that being said, we’re still aiming to release the game in the release window we’ve shared, and if we felt we needed to delay the release, we’ll let you know as soon as we make that decision - and it will probably be because of me. Gizmo has done an amazing job on this chapter and despite the negative feelings that come with all these hiccups, I am truly excited for you all to experience this chapter and want to put it out as soon as possible.
I am not the best at expressing myself but I want you all to know that I’m doing my best to make this happen in a way that makes sense to me and that I’m really thankful to all of you for your patience and for sticking with us.
For those of you who like numbers, this chapter has already surpassed the 2000 render mark - that’s more than we’ve ever done before. With this one being the pre-final chapter, there's also a larger cast of characters than in either of the previous chapters, four separate adult scenes, one commissioned song with lyrics, an alpaca… I could go on, but I’ll let our characters do the talking as out of context as possible.

Damn, have they said that before? It's a sin for such a good game to have so few chapters

Not really, better to end it when it makes sense and not drag it unnecessarily, also with only 2 main LIs I don't think you can really make it much longer or you risk making it boring their idea was always to make a shorter story focused on the characters anyway.Pre-final chapter? While I'll be sad to say farewell to these characters, I'm looking forward to what other stories these two have tell.
Lol, these out of context previews are pretty confusing. If I'm not mistaken, Julie is Amy's sister and she's talking about a poly relationship. Is she referring to Amy or someone else? I assume that the dev has put out this preview to confuse us and pique our interest and that Julie is not actually speaking about Amy. Hopefully, that's the case. Ahh... can't wait for the next chapter!

I believe that preview is related to the first image and probably the last one as well as it seems to be in the same place and may be continuing the joke about us being into Tony.
Because only Becca would make sense about being in a Poly relationship, certainly not Amy if she is looking to marry.
Yeah, I hope that's the case and the dev has used it just to pique our curiosity and not as some plot twist.

I understand what you mean, and I also think it's good when a story doesn't drag on too long. But at the same time, I'm not sure four chapters are enough for this game. For starters, the issues surrounding Becca and Amy aren't easy or quick to resolve. Plus, there are other interesting topics to explore, like the protagonist's new book, the separation of his parents, Tony and his friends, Becca's jealous ex, and Eris and Amy's sister, who could be potential LI. I'm not saying the game needs to have 20 or more chapters, but I think four chapters are a bit short for everything presented so far, seven or eight chapters would be better to explore everything more fully.
But don't mind me, that's just my idiosyncrasy. The game has been very good so far and will certainly have a good ending either way.

I think the Devs only wanted to concentrate on the three main characters in the story, and not bringing in too much else. A more focused game if you will.
Maybe also as a learning experience with a clear goal and end in sight, to keep things manageable as new Devs, idk but I guess that may have been part of it.

Ngl this is one of the best AVNs ive ever played, and im lowkey sad that there is only going to be 4 chapters. But it seems like the devs got a vision for it and thats way more respectable than milking the cow for what its worth. What a rare sight in this community

It's a great game, but until now, each chapter has taken approximately one year (or more) to develop. Additionally, the tags are more vanilla than in other games, and I imagine that may put off some potential players.
With that being said, activity usually increases when a new chapter releases, and they are due for one around September.

hmmm, i see, maybe very few ppl here are focusing on the story and the art as main focus.
well i kind of understand why the development take too long, since the quality is top notch here, the lightning, vibes, angles and movie-like screen is very good. The story is superb too.
i kinda understand to regarding the tag that seems vanilla, but this is just my opinion, with this quality and story, i prefer this stay to Vanilla.
Still i'm super glad found this game, really looking forward with this kind of quality work.
