I'd say its similar to pirating AAA games vs indie gamesso funny to see ppl dont want any leaks. Well HF waiting!
I'd rather wait a few days/weeks then have a game be completely abandoned cuz the devs either can't afford to spend time making it or lose motivation cuz of leakers
But of course given the nature of this site that's probably not everyone's philosophy

nobody will leak it in the high tier ranks,maybe when it reached the third or second lowest tier but not before that.

anybody asking for leaks before it reached the lowest tiers because he can not wait can support him.
for this game to go from highest tier to public it takes usually a month.
for me 80 or 40 bucks for the highest tier is a bit to expensive beeing a supporter paying that every month.
i would consider paying 5 to 10 dollars as supporter,paying 80 or 40 dollars every month is insane if someone asks me.
but the timeframe from the 2 lowest tiers to public is so small,it is not worth paying that before it goes public either.
so whats is left to do is wait....
i will never understand how some people can pay so much money monthly where they can buy a complete GAME from every game plattform for a game that is not even complete and will be updated in parts every 1 to 3 month.

Why would waiting bother me? I'm still gonna play the game, makes no difference if its today, a week from now or in a month. Hell if it leaks today but next update doesn't leak then that just means I'm gonna have to wait extra to play the next one. The whole impatience perspective of release dates makes no sense at all, doesn't matter when it releases as long as it releases.so funny to see ppl dont want any leaks. Well HF waiting!

Yea that kinda pricing seems wild to me, but I guess for smaller groups of supporters its the only way to sustain development, especially if this is actually the dev's only source of income (not sure if it is)

But I'll commend the people that wanna support regardless, even though its something I couldn't justify for myself (maybe if I was like a software dev or some shit lol)

$80 could nearly buy Dead or Alive Xtreme 2(or 3), and I still don't own that game. Forget paying that subscription.
that would be up to $160 to $240 in this case or $80 to 120$ if the update takes 2 to 3 month just for getting a part update for a game that is not even near to be finished.
gets you 2 or 3 full games of your chossen game plattform.
really insane if you think about it.
in some parts of the world you can get food for about 2 to 4 weeks for that money
but some devs are fair about that and are charging per update and not monthly but these are rare

The thing is, most of the people in the really high tiers would just subscribe, download the game, then unsubscribe immediately. Which is fair. The got access for what they wanted and don't wanna keep paying say 35 euros per month. But this realllly helps devs like me. Many people would also not completely unsub after but for example lower their tiers and remain subscribed which over time is great for devs. Oh also, my 70 euros tier is limited to 10 people since it also comes with other benefits than just access to the game, it has 3 custom renders per months which I can't make for 100 people XD
sure its benefical for you devs but still it is crazy thinking about some persons paying so much money only because they not want to wait for a week or two.
and lets be honest here: no benefits you could offer me would justify for me paying you so much more money except maybe getting the gameupdate a week or two earlier than others ,and even that does not justify this for me completely.
i don´t care for wallpapers,additional renders or a double counting voice in a poll or something like that.
for me the additional renders and wallpapers are a waste of time but that is just me
when i subscribe to be a supporter i do it because i like the game and want to support the Developer.

You're only looking at this from a surface level, which isn't to say it's wrong, just that there's a lot more thought into the reasons as to why. Being on here, I'm sure you've witnessed plenty of games go either on-hold or abandoned where you might wonder how or why; you've probably also seen some games be incredibly successful but their progress begins to take a little longer or other content comes out before an update (such as custom renders). Please remember that for as much as each and every dev is doing what they're doing because they have a story they want to tell....they require money to survive.sure its benefical for you devs but still it is crazy thinking about some persons paying so much money only because they not want to wait for a week or two.

It is a cutthroat industry and everyone is battling for support in their own ways, so they have to come up with unique options to garner said financial support. It's more than just making a game - afterall, once the game is completed what happens next? Flynn is a creator that has been shafted by early leaks which reduce financial support, which in turn means less output for continuing the game.
For as much as people can argue about being a pirate forum and releasing updates early, if a creator doesn't have a decent support (and financial) base, then all that'll happen is another game being labelled on-hold or abandoned and people bitching and moaning about why. When we all know why
