I'd say its similar to pirating AAA games vs indie games

I'd rather wait a few days/weeks then have a game be completely abandoned cuz the devs either can't afford to spend time making it or lose motivation cuz of leakers

But of course given the nature of this site that's probably not everyone's philosophy

and given the fact the dev released the update for the highest tiers 80 Bugs and yesterday for the 40 bucks tier.
nobody will leak it in the high tier ranks,maybe when it reached the third or second lowest tier but not before that.
and that is fine.
anybody asking for leaks before it reached the lowest tiers because he can not wait can support him.

for this game to go from highest tier to public it takes usually a month.
for me 80 or 40 bucks for the highest tier is a bit to expensive beeing a supporter paying that every month.
i would consider paying 5 to 10 dollars as supporter,paying 80 or 40 dollars every month is insane if someone asks me.

but the timeframe from the 2 lowest tiers to public is so small,it is not worth paying that before it goes public either.
so whats is left to do is wait....

i will never understand how some people can pay so much money monthly where they can buy a complete GAME from every game plattform for a game that is not even complete and will be updated in parts every 1 to 3 month.

Why would waiting bother me? I'm still gonna play the game, makes no difference if its today, a week from now or in a month. i don´t know if it is with every dev or if its not possible to have more high rank supporters,but the devs i know who have that high rank tiers with this high money paying have the ranks limited to 5 or 10 supporters.

that would be up to $160 to $240 in this case or $80 to 120$ if the update takes 2 to 3 month just for getting a part update for a game that is not even near to be finished.

gets you 2 or 3 full games of your chossen game plattform.

really insane if you think about it.
in some parts of the world you can get food for about 2 to 4 weeks for that money

but some devs are fair about that and are charging per update and not monthly but these are rare

And that is 100% fair. It's is your money and you should be able to do (or in this case not do XD) with it what you want

You're only looking at this from a surface level, which isn't to say it's wrong, just that there's a lot more thought into the reasons as to why. Being on here, I'm sure you've witnessed plenty of games go either on-hold or abandoned where you might wonder how or why; you've probably also seen some games be incredibly successful but their progress begins to take a little longer or other content comes out before an update (such as custom renders). Please remember that for as much as each and every dev is doing what they're doing because they have a story they want to tell....they require money to survive.

It is a cutthroat industry and everyone is battling for support in their own ways, so they have to come up with unique options to garner said financial support. It's more than just making a game - afterall, once the game is completed what happens next? Flynn is a creator that has been shafted by early leaks which reduce financial support, which in turn means less output for continuing the game.

For as much as people can argue about being a pirate forum and releasing updates early, if a creator doesn't have a decent support (and financial) base, then all that'll happen is another game being labelled on-hold or abandoned and people bitching and moaning about why. When we all know why
