Quick question. After a quick search through this thread I read that the MC's mom is supposed to show up after a few months. I'm already a year into the game and she still hasn't shown up yet. Anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it or did the other commenter have it wrong and it takes longer than that?
I peeked in the corresponding file and it seems the MC must be younger than 33y old at the time of action to be his mother appear (else nothing happens).
I also discover the sample mod which is interesting if you enable. It says:
" sample is a more involved mod that introduces a banker character that will
invest money in your club in exchange for a percentage of future profits."
This can be helping a lot to start set up the business if it's works.

Guys, is it normal for a second sister to appear in the game? Yesterday I was playing when I received a call and found out that I had a second sister.

And your mother comes along later. Each of them will be unavailable for contact for a while. Little sister is... a headache. Enjoy. :)

I don't know if the dev will see this, but if they do. Can you please have taboo options be a choice box that people can say yes or no too, instead of people needing to do coding?

The lovely people on here have tried to help me multiple times, but I'm thinking either I'm just not getting it or there's something wrong with my Notebook. Either way, it would be so much easier if there was an option on the same screen as the save and load boxes or have a box pop up after selecting new game where people can opt in or opt out of taboo content.

I'm sure the dev can think of something.
Any fiddling with configuration files in modern programmes is simply not user friendly and adds a multitude of user errors constantly. Mid- to long-term this has to move into the regular UI.
While I agree that some options should be moved into an options interface and that's in the roadmap, incest will NEVER be available that way. There's a lot of negative impact to games that include incest and I don't want to deal with this. So the game as shipped does not include it.

As a mod-friendly game, you are all welcome to "mod" the game to include incest, as many have explained here repeatedly.

I personally dont care about one or the other. My remarks have always been about the user experience, as you should know. My arguments for this have been the same for character creation etc, so as to cater to a common user and not people that are able to understand what a 'comment' in a file is or what the difference between ANSI and UTF is. You yourself deliver the game with the config-file that enables it in the first place.

Thank you for replying Dev. I completely understand your points and respect your decision on this.

Just to add. Squeezememacaroni was able to explain everything I had to do and for some reason it made complete sense in my head. I don't fully understand why I couldn't get it when other members explained it to me. Also I'm sorry that I was partly to blame for causing a disagreement between Squeezememacaroni and tooldev. Thank you xxx

Just add an "incest patch" on the top post like every other game does. People who can't figure out editing a txt file can just download and use it.

my mom appeared in the 2nd year of the game, around May, after choosing her to move, I waited until December for her to be available. as for my 2nd sister, she always contacts me at the end of the school year in June, and is available at the beginning of the new school year, i.e. September, but that's in my case

To be more explicit, since I have dived deep into the code for the game. The mom appears after 14 months have elapsed and she will randomly ask for money every 3 months though I have had situations where she asked for money less than a month later. When working on my mod it took a lot of skipping for her to appear so I could test things and ended up modifying some of the values so she might show up sooner.

The Second sister will show up after 6 months, intended to be around July/August since she's supposed to move in to start going to college near you. There's actually 2 checks for the second sister but I am not sure why the comment suggests it might skip the first, I don't quite know how random it is for those methods to be called. But based on the comment in the code I would guess it's theoretically possible that the second sister never shows up. Easy enough to solve the same way as the mom by just checking if the $months_since_start >= 6 instead of explicitly checking for those 2 months she should show up. Alternatively it should be possible to just check if the month is July or August and have her only ever attempt to appear during those months so her story fits better. This should be possible by doing if($months_since_start % 12 == 6) and if($months_since_start % 12 == 7) to check every July and August. Though in my testing of the tfel language I had some issues with multiple statements within the if code so this inline example might not work.

All the characters that I've met so far are Single, am I missing something or is this a bug?
At the beginning it's normal. All npc start without relatioships, but as the time pass they will build. Also if you enabled the racism taboo - what affect the attractions negatively - this process will be slower and fewer partnerships will born.

On the subject of inventory management, something is amiss. I've mentioned the issue recently, how two people can't keep it covered. Punishment system is ineffective, at best. So I reduced it to a single manager, and made that her only damned job.

Result? I watched alcohol drop to a low level, and waited to see what would happen. Saw a notification that over $21,000 was spent on alcohol one evening, and assumed that meant she made the purchase. Cool. Next morning, however, I am at 0 alcohol, and she needs to be punished. I made it severe, and she quit.

From now on, I will manage my own inventory until this is smoothed out.

That's a bug and I'll fix. However it doesn't break anything, it just wasn't displaying the message saying that you can't carry any more condoms (20 is the limit, regardless of where you get them from).

That's all correct. The reason for the 2 checks for the sister is that initially the code for those monthly events wasn't that reliable and that way it made it less likely to fail. But that's no longer an issue. Never worried about taking it out. Your solution would work too (except in inside a if statement to only check during the first year).

How much alcohol are you selling in one day? Once you are selling huge quantities, the whole process breaks down and the managers can't keep up. I need to scale the storage to allow for much larger inventory to deal with that.

Note also that managers don't work on Sundays and Mondays, so if you run out those days, the managers can't deal with it. And the are not smart enough to check on Saturdays to make sure they have enough to last thru Tuesday. As for the punishment not learning, unfortunately this is one case where punishment won't help solve in the future. Basically the other punishments if successful make the employee like the thing that led to the punishment less. However, in this case it's there's no opinion to change. They fail to keep on top of the inventory if they have too many other tasks assigned (particularly the cover for other employees which tends to take precedence) or are distracted with other interactions and become tired. In general they should check the inventory once a day.

Also if food and alcohol are both low at the same time, a manager will only be able to deal with one of them.

I'm closed Sundays.

Alcohol and food are both selling quite well, but mostly because customers bitch if the prices goes above $7 for the GOOD stuff. I haven't seen this before. Normally I'm good up to $11-$12. So now they get above average only.

If you are up for a little bit of file editing, in the data folder you should see a file called room_types. Open the file and change
inv food 2000
inv drink 4000

to whatever you would like to to be. Personally I put an extra zero on it, but then it does cost a fortune to fill it, lol

So i fiddled around with the Prices because they were too low and i read that once i reach "the customers are not satisfied with the price" i have reached the perfect Price, i raised the Game Room Tokens too like 6k and made 500k profit in one Day, after that i think somethin is broken now lol. i dont get customers at all anymore. But the customers never said the Price is too high though lol. i hope i havent bricked my save now.

Edit1: So its not really broken yet, glad i didnt make a save before -.- but only 1/3 of my regular customers attend now and the transaction are also 1/3, maybe it will get better over time again, will c

Edit2:So everything is back on track, there are some things connected to each other it seems. Even after setting the Game Tokens back to 1$ nothing worked to raise my customers again, so i cut my recently raised food and drink prices by 50% and that did the trick. Maybe it wasnt showing now that they are too high.
Customers back on track, Transactions and Satisfaction back on track. phew what a little adventure.
