While playing 0.3b I noticed some bugs with quests (particular the workers guild quests).
I tracked down the issues (incomplete functions & some typos) and completed/fixed them. Decided to share the fixes (these go in the src folder)

This does not fix the issue where the only way to complete Monster Hunt - Wolves is to rely on other quests, but the fixed Workers Quests will help.

I remember supporting the original, it was amazing but lacked a way to properly handle slaves in big quantities... like I was focused on breeding perfect slavegirls but the game lacked on that area, I mean inheriting traits and breeding perfect sexy battle dragon-girls with huge tits :(

The fear and obedience go down too fast imo.

Good to see Maverick back in Strive. The other game wasn't nearly as interesting.

True. But still i kinda expected that.
Until the very end the game somewhat looks like a beta, with all kinds of loose ends but, it's bound to happen when there are so many things going on in it.
To be honest i recall tones of games that were into slave management, or breeding etc and were most of them great games but, never saw something that finished or felt complete in that genre (maybe "whore master" was the closest one).

Free Cities is pretty "complete" in the sense that you can play through a whole bunch of content before you ever feel like you've reached an "end" of the content.

I think the issue with these management games is that the economy incentivizes you to collect ever more slaves, but the actual lewd content of the games rarely scales well. Once you've trained or broken a handful of slaves, you get to a point where news ones are effectively unknown to you, and then you're just playing an increasingly complex and unsexy spreadsheet.

I felt that as well, when i played slave maker and connected somewhat with the "how to" on first slaves, then later it was monotonous.. That's the sandbox element and once i experienced it, i just knew how to deal with it mood wise. The "not complete" feeling of mine, has to do little with "what's next" and more like why there are so many placeholders and limited mechanics, to the point they are useless or cosmetic only.
In first strive for example, there was so many choices to solo talk/walk etc with a slave but, very little stamina to use most of them and they were giving almost same boosts, a little at a time. The main character could get so many modifications in lab but most (if not all) were just text and nothing substantial to it, or the crafted potions were so many but barely usable. Milk slaves were a waste of management as well (speaking purely on settings and outcome ,not the idea).

Strive for Power was a very great and fun game, i am looking forward to the sequel. But i would recommend a better name if possible.

I preferred the old version. this is very complicated for me (not to mention that I lost all my slaves :<)

By the time I reach the Smiling Man event I *may* have two FS unlocked, if I've been grinding rep. Everything after that feels like post-game, just unlocking stuff for the hell of it, because nothing will threaten you ever again (except SecExp battles at max difficulty but they always felt out of place to me). The game is in dire need of more story content and genuine inter-arcology conflicts.

Strive takes longer to reach the endgame if you don't optimize for combat from the get-go because Amberguard has a difficulty spike and the events aren't time-based like Free Cities'. In the end it feels longer, even if it's mainly a false feeling. Strive has far worse sex content than FC though.

It's genuinely funny, how this sequel has taken a very wrong turn compared to the previous installment. Gathering wood and stone to build upgrades? In a slave management game (nominally)? Wat.

IMHO a good 50% of the total quality of a porn game is stuff that isn't porn.

A good game reward the player for achieving things and overcoming obstacles. If the grind is too difficult and the rewards too few, the game fails. If the sex is overflowing with zero effort (i.e. kinetic novel) then it also fails. A good balance is required to make for an engaging & rewarding game.

Your mileage may vary.

Anyone know what file I need to edit to increase gold? I tried searching through the .sav files but I couldn't find it. If it's obvious I'm sorry but I have pigmentary glaucoma and I do miss things because of this

That's a pretty good point. For a managment game like Stive or Cities, I usually stop once I get around 10 slaves. I rename them to become my favorite Waifus and customized their looks accordingly and bob's your uncle.
The original Sim Brothel WAAAAY back in 2005 had the problems you mentioned ad nasium. Try and get 10 million billion gold to unlock all the buildings, but 2/3's of the girls are fugly hentai girls with censored naughty bits.

If you still need it, look for ["money":] (without the brackets) in the .sav; depending on what you're using and how you have it setup (I'm using Notepad++ with the JSTool plugin), if you have a tree view, its under the ["state":] header, which is the last group, putting ["money":] near the end of the file.

Thanks, there are other games that have converters made for them like Might and Magic X Legacy. It will convert your sav files into xml files and you can convert the files back into sav after you're done. I found this extremely useful because games like M&M X it's nearly impossible get a working Trainer for it
