I think it's four things:I know a lot of people like her, and that's good for them, but I have to say, I don't see the value in Katie Kafton. She doesn't add anything to the game for me as a lewdable character, and that makes her just a distraction from time spent working on scenes with the other girls. Plus, the more I see it, the more her name bugs me. Why is it always "Katie Kafton" and never just "Katie"?
Can anyone tell me why she is so well-liked? Is it just a matter of taste, and people like her looks a lot more than I do, or is there something else to her that I'm just not getting?
1) She's got a nice booty
2) She's good at baking
3) She's adorably terrible at pillowtalk
4) Some weirdos like a little alliteration, okay?

I like her face. Her hair. That she is, aside from Elspeth, the only female of comparable life experience who may understand the shit you're dealing with. And since I'm not an Els fan, that helps. She's friendly, she cooks, she's not (at least so far) a deranged psycho that doesn't understand "no".
I mean, she's no Ines, but she's still damn cute.

I find her painfully terrible pillow talk hilarious and oddly charming. I've played hundreds of VNs and that's the first time I've seen that used as a character trait for an LI, so it makes her kind of stand out.
Also agreed on both Ines and Elspeth.

Yeah, like Els, she has that shared military background, is hot (without extremely large hooters), and is fun (for a Brit). Kana is sort of their counterpoint, with the sport/performing side of things. As an (ahem) older player, I connect more romantically with them than I do with the "kids," whom I have a more parental/mentor/older sibling sort of vibe with. I am tempted by Amrit (cause she's hella hot, and a unicorn (pervert virgin)), but don't feel great about it, and Ines, but just can't get myself to get in a romantic relationship with Vi. I just feel like a predator when I do.
