On one hand, I've always disliked the idea that everything and everyone should be interconnected in a story. But on the other I'd quite like a twist like that tbh, Valentine and Els' whole lives would be turned upside down and I'd be curious to see how they'd recover.

It doesn't matter, however, the mission to "clean up loose ends" was subsequent and separate. We know this, partly, because MC did not know about it until after the fact. It could have been any of the major coalition partners who decided it was necessary. Anyway, it's mostly just a wild idea but, I wouldn't put it past STWAdev to toss in a twist like this... Jus' Sayin'
I have 2 paths. Elspeth and Kana. It that scenario would happen, my Elspeth route wouldn't recover. She would be promptly dumped to the curb, following my MC ditching the veteran's office and cutting all ties to her.
agreed the only thing that bother me is have to choose which girl to be the one...i can't really choose i love them all..damn
that's the neat part, you probably can have an ending with them all, there are no early lockouts where you have to maintain a dozen saves
That's something we have discussed here before, along with similar theories about what might have happened that day. Although, I doubt Els would have "ordered" Zaina's death in any direct way, since she is just an intelligence officer, and she is not a commander in charge of army units. Although she could have "authorized" it to a degree, and feel some level of responsibility or guilt over how it ended up affecting the MC. Also, we're still not sure about the nature of how Zaina was killed, either. A "cleanup" op sounds like the most likely scenario, but I wouldn't be shocked if even information suggesting that scheme turned out to be a mislead in the end.
I have pretty extensive military experience and I can tell you that a Captain in the Intelligence section on deployment can have a great deal of autonomy. Small units deployed to "hot spots" are not like Regimental and above theaters of operation. They often consist of a CIA liaison in addition to military personnel for intelligence gathering working with one or two Special Forces units. Operations like the assassination raid conducted in conjunction with local militia is pretty standard doctrine. Militia usually conduct diversionary raids or provide backup while Special Forces assault the main target. Even a "cleanup of loose ends" operation can be planned and executed by the "in country" unit with as little as a secure satellite communication of the plan and subsequent authorization from higher authority. This is why the senior Intelligence Officer and the CIA liaison are credited with "responsibility" for the success or failure of the operation. In his conversation with Vi in Majorca, MC tells her that her brother, "killed the woman I loved" in an operatation to "tie up loose ends". I feel pretty certain I know how Zaina died and so does the MC.
Definitely. In my opinion latest update was by far the best part of the story.
She may be attractive but we still know very little about her. All of her interactions have been superficial, a few talks about what she like, a conversation about her family. Until the "date" you spend no meaningful time with her. She is just a blank slate with a pretty face. You don't make any real connections with her. The same could be said about Reenie though.
Regarding LIs, there are 5 main LIs (Amrit, Els, Ines, Kana, and Vi), but they plan to eventually let Patreon supports vote to upgrade a side girl to a main LI (Reenie and Katie seem to be leading contenders).
I'd imagine Ines and Vi would be one of them, the other could potentially involve Amrit, iirc they have the interested in girls variable
