I once heard an interview with Bas Rutten where he talked about how some guy in a bar tried to pick a fight with him and challenged him to step outside. Bas agreed and walked towards the door. Friends of the dumbass ran up to him and quickly explained who Bas Rutten was, and you know what happened next? Nothing.
See, it turns out that inebriated douchebags tend to get a little less eager to fight when they know the guy they just challenged is actually a world class MMA fighter. So my suggestion for Elspeth would be to go with what Valentine was already doing and make Valentine the focus instead of trying to make it about her. Tell them who Valentine is, or better yet, just pull up an article on Valentine about his MMA record and upcoming fight. And not directly insult them while doing so.
Valentine himself could've done that as well. Be mad at him, not Els. She might very well thought that Valentine didn't want those two to know who he is.
Again, her insulting him is what made the fight inevitable. She wasn't trying to make him back off, she wanted him to take a swing at her. You see her say so in the game. I even pulled the quote for you to re-read. If you getting frustrated with with people disagreeing with you, maybe you might want to consider that you are in the wrong here.
I already explained to you how I see it. THEY WERE ON COKE! Besides, you intentionally refuse the most important take I had about this whol thing:
She tried to intimidate them. She almost succeeded it. But they were high on coke, and wasn't in the mood to follow reason. Say it with me you pancake eating MoFo: THEY WERE HIGH ON COKE!!! They weren't going to back off, no matter what.
How on earth you guys keep missing that?
Besides, I already explained that Elspeth being there, even if she instigated the fight though she certainly didn't, helped Valentine immensely.
It wouldn't have been possible for Valentine to stop both of them without harm coming to any of them if he had to deal with them just by himself. He would've needed to throw at least a punch and Valentine already one punched someone when he was 17 y.o. to protect Viridiana. He would have probably killed or seriously injure at least one of them, if not both. That is the exact reason why he doesn't like street fights. That's exactly why he is afraid of his capabilities. And you wanted him to go through almost the exact scenario, in order to save the exact same girl plus her friend? How distorted is your view on life and fiction depicting life?
Thanks to Elspeth dealing with one of them, all Valentine had to do was to lock the other one. No one harmed. No one ended in custody. And definitely no one ended up in jail or in morgue.
Read this over and over again until it got through your thick skull. Elspeth's being there difused the situation for Valentine, even if she was the one instigating the fight. He wouldn't be able to stop both douchebros from following the girls in a non-harmful way if he was alone. They were already making a thing before Elspeth even showed up.
Besides, Elspeth has feelings too. She could be furious to those who dare to challenge Valentine or threaten the girls. This is a male protagonist game, but that doesn't mean everything will go just according to said protagonist's, meaning player's, whims.
No, but I do expect her to be able to figure out a very simple solution like this. Two douchebags are trying to make themselves look tough. Backing down from a fight with a woman is not happening. She can't make this about her. It has to be about the "2 meter giant" who is also a world class MMA fighter in his prime.
Additionally, she could also talk about other benefits of not fighting, such as spending time with other girls out there who might be interested in them instead of rolling around in the sand with some dude on the beach. Inflate their egos by lying to them and say that she saw some ladies checking them out earlier and they were back inside or something.
There were better strategies for diffusing a situation here. She chose the worst possible one. This is either because she's a moron or she wanted the fight. The game says she's a genius, so she's not a moron and she wanted the fight. The game shows her saying that she wanted the fight, so she wanted the fight. It's not a mystery here. You shouldn't be struggling to understand this.
Anybody who pays attention to the game can connect the dots here. Viridiana tells Elspeth that Valentine and her brother bonded over fighting. Elspeth sees a fight about to break out and makes sure it happens so that she can fight alongside Valentine. When he is patching up her bloody nose, Elspeth tells Valentine "We're officially brothers in arms now" before leaning in for a kiss. These are not difficult dots to connect. It's a straight line right through all of them.
Valentine already offered to buy them drinks. He tried and failed to difuse the situation but you don't blame him for that. You just blame Elspeth, who came in late. Stay silent for a second. Then tried to intimidate them which failed. Then she took care of the DoucheBro-2, so Valentine can lock DoucheBro-1 without no one getting really injured.
Do you have any idea how Delta you sound? Blaiming an AVN character for something you don't like in said AVN, which ended up briliantly? Do you blame mommy for being a virgin too? Did daddy abondoned you and mommy, and didn't teach you how to throw a ball or be a man in general?
I'm done responding to you. Honestly, hate Elspeth as much as you want. I don't care, it's your choice. You deliberately ignore the most important aspects of this whole argument.
Edit: Dear moderator, the part starting with "say it with me you pancake eating" part was a direct quote from Draft Day:

Honestly, that was not meant to be an insult but a comic relief.
