Expect a dev update this weekend. Currently we're in the closing segments of Phase 3 of the project, crafting a boss that includes SHMUP and grid combat. Next will be short trailers for each waifu, followed by the final closed beta where the final two enemy types will be tested. No ETA for that yet, but I'll keep you informed.

Question, and I understand you may not know, but I know in the last dev update they announced that they wouldn't be able to do any pregnancy options for the waifus - any idea if that would be something that might be able to be added in a later DLC package? I'm not even interested in the monster type stuff, just would have loved if the captain could get one or more waifus pregnant by end-game if the player wanted to go that route for narrative reasons. Thanks again!

Nothing's been relayed to me about the pregnancy DLC. Possibly in the (hopefully) second project, there's room for experimentation. If you keep your eyes on the KS update pages you'll know that a Soulsborne-type game is an avenue that we'd like to go down after this is wrapped.

Thanks again for taking the time to bring us information. Soulsborne games aren't my cup of tea, but hey, I'm sure a sequel of that type would sell tons of copies to that crowd especially with Studio FOW quality lewd content in there.
Now if they could make it a type of game where you didn't have to die repeatedly, that'd be a long way toward pulling my interest in.

I'll be curious to Phantom's answer here, but to my understanding, all the mantic stuff is optional. The only thing that I'd personally love some clarity on is with regard to Lily. It's been discussed on the Steam messageboards as well repeatedly that people want to know if any of the mantic stuff with Lily is made to be in-universe-canon with regard to her fucking mantics to any degree as that would ruin her as a waifu for a measurable chunk of the (to borrow your terminology) "mainstream" customers, myself included. So far we haven't been able to get Studio FOW to directly answer that question.

Yup. A whole lot of the people on F95Zone seem to believe that everybody just wants tentacle rape, but F95Zone is a hardcore porn game forum for people who want that kind of content, so obviously everyone here is biased towards more niche fetishes.

With how incredibly big the game has gotten, I doubt Studiofow knows that most of the people on those steam forums are mostly vanilla dudes who wanna bang their "waifus". But all the kickstarter mangas and such are all, well, typical studiofow alien/monster rape stuff. Feels like there is a disconnect there, especially with how little marketing the would-be protagonist is getting.

I am pretty sure Lily's stuff is in-universe canon though (I don't mean the doujinshi, but her fucking aliens in general), as her entire personality seems to be "I make aliens to fuck them.". No doubt Steam is gonna get pissed about that. And I'll be disappointed, but I wasn't really keeping different expectations.

I believe you can choose not to see her fucking the aliens, but she does fuck the aliens. You can hear moans from her door or something. Idk when or where I read that though so this is pretty much just guesswork. I do hope we get some sort of option that goes "Remove all alien content" or something. Like a tick in the menu.

I'm just wondering about the other waifus and all. A l l of the kickstarter updates are about the mantics (or the combat). The fact that we still have nothing on the protagonist is worrying.

I believe I should clarify my role. I am not on the main development team. Outside help. I'm not involved in story content, I just get kept up to date on roadmaps and beta testing. PR if you will.

Yep. There definitely needs to be more tentacle. M/F stuff and incest is extremely oversaturating the market. Get CREATIVE and do space and fantasy more!

Well, seems like Phantom Fear was right, but I gotta say its a bit odd that they did a 360 turn there with the "Let's release in chapters", then "We will only release when the game is complete" and now again the chapter release...
Either way I'm Happy I will get to play it sooner rather than later.

The protagonist looks really irritating, a stupid design and a stupid personality. Non-vanilla stuff would make this game playable though probably. Interested in the final release, though of course the devs are in it for the $$, wouldn't be the first project to be sabotaged by sped developers trying to appease (whoever).

Ya we can conclude that Phantom Fear is 100% solid. Hope he is willing to feed us more info when possible.

And ya, I was surprised about the chapter release. I'm admittedly disappointed that the game isn't ready for full release. But as you said, I'm happy to get something even if it's in pieces early, been looking forward to this game for so long. I just hope they can keep the release windows to a month or less per set of chapters or it'll be too long, IMO.
