sadly its already Banned on Steam in my Country (Germany) :(
And i dont know how to get it when it releases without Patron :/
The devs have said in their most recent kickstarter diary that they are working on a solution for countries like Germany so just hang in there. :)

Why this game don't have a proper thread on "Games". There is even a beta right? I see a lot of threads with just concept images...

This game sure as shit ain't going to be good lol.

They at first stated that they would NOT do a release first update later kinda deal, as apparently that was unwise from what they heard.

Now they go back to that model and release a roadmap. Must have run out of money.

And holy fuck the entire Arch debacle, the fact that they apologized and then walked back on the apology and more lmao

Clusterfuck development. And I'm glad that at least more people are seeing that this game is going nowhere lol...both shmup and normal combat like cmon man..pick one and do that well, or do neither and just do the fucking porn. You guys can't make a game. At best it will be mediocre.

I do fear that is the case, It doesn't need to be ground breaking in any way it just doesn't have to feel as work and still I feel that it won't be the case.

Gotta say, I'm totally with you there, I've kept up to date with all the journals and it seems to me that they bit more than could chew, adding features left and right and now they realise the money they got won't be enough to carry the project.

That, to some degree, is another thing I agree with.
Played a few shmups and even the more simple ones did have power up system (triple shot, move faster, serpentine shot etc etc) and trully unique ships, even if there were 3 ships to choose from the 3 would have different stats all around and play in a different way... Here I see different ship models with just a change in the specials and no power ups....
I'm a fan of grid combats and there is always some twists, even the more "simple" ones like fire emblem makes you think about positioning because the terrain matter, from what I've seem here it is a simple rectangle with background changes all the way, They may change it later but there were no signs pointing to it. The characters seem more unique than their shmups counterparts but that alone won't carry the gameplay part...

And I get it, they are not an experienced team when it comes to game-dev, the focus of the game is indeed "hand holding" and not the rest, but still, I'm not the one setting the bar high, Mr. Kristoff did when talking about how good the game will/should/could be...

What I fear the most is that when it releases the gameplay will feel like work and the "hand holding" won't be as good as we'd hope therefore making the work not worth it.

Anyway, that is my rant, I would be glad to see FOW prove me wrong in every aspect but we will have to wait 3/4 months for that.

I'm wondering if I'm the only one optimistic, here, lol. Don't be a bunch of Debbie Downers folks, let's see what it's like when it releases, likely in March it seems. And maybe you'll be right and it will suck, but I have high hopes that it will be enjoyable.

While I'm not into the rape stuff Studio FOW is famous for even I can admit they do AAA quality animation work, so I'm hoping the gameplay will be just enjoyable enough as a sort of distraction from the sex to flesh out the universe and give some purpose to what we're doing in the game. I've always wanted to see some studios start doing adult games where there's actually a game to go along with the porn, so I'd say let's try to be positive and if it's something we even sort of like, it'd be good to see customers support them to encourage more of it.

I checked about a week back to see where Subverse was on the top games wishlisted and it was at #8 which is pretty impressive. Seems a lot of people are looking forward to it and have interest in purchasing.

My biggest concern is honestly the grid combat simply because I've never been much of a fan of that type of gameplay. Schmup gameplay should be enjoyable though, I am looking forward to checking it out.

I mean, it's healthy to be pessimistic about kickstarter projects as they don't really have a good track record.

And this is a porn studio that hasn't ever made a videogame. And with a budget that they've never had before. And now they are changing goalposts, going from "we'll release episodically" to "nah we gotta release this altogether" to "nah we will do it episodically".

This has all the red flags of shitty management and direction. If it comes out and it's good, that's great! Seriously. I'd love to play it.

But not being on a hype train is completely acceptable. Star Citizen, Cyberpunk, so on and so forth. Game development goes wrong very often. What's unhealthy is the mindset that the kickstarter supporters have, they spent money on the game and have some sort of sunk cost shit going, some cult-like stuff.

And they wanna do a fucking souls-like afterwards lmao.

Like I don't get porn studios. Anyone who wants to play a souls-like game will probably play a souls-game or one of the much better clones.

I definitely understand your point of view, I'm just trying to give them the benefit of the doubt on the game quality. You're absolutely right that there are some things they've handled poorly - and the flip back to what is basically an EA release model definitely shows me that it's been a poorly managed project. Although I figure part of that may be because it's their first game, but on the flip side I'd like to think that they will also want to release a quality game, otherwise this will likely be their only one since people will lose all faith in them.

Guess we'll see, hoping by sometime in March we'll get a release.

StudioFOW is overrated. There are superior single animators out there that make higher quality 5 second loops over their shody 15 minute 'movies'. This game ain't no way going to be good.
