Because there is some "basic" rules that have to be followed if you want a game to be considered as a good game.

Trying to be different is not automatically a good idea.

Nearly everybody knows that immersion is important for a porngame. Because if it wasn't, then people wouldn't play the game. People who don't care about immersion either just download the gallery or just consume other kind of porn., they don't "play", they "watch".

And since immersion is important, then you need to make sex content more believable which go through context and story telling.

Even games which are not porn focused do that. Sex scenes are not random on Mass Effect, they are all understandable and explained.
No, a game is good because you find it good. And individual taste and preference goes a long way here. I can like games you don't like and the other way around. I like RPG, RTS and similar games, but that doesn't mean I like every RPG game there is, just because its a RPG game.

Some games might have serious issues that make them basically unplayable. Crashes, bugs and so forth. But clunky mechanics and features is something you can work with if you find the rest good.

There is no 10 pt check list a game need to be based on to qualify as a good game.

Trying to copy the success of one game doesn't make the copy any success. Look at all the Battlefield and Call of duty games. You got a few good ones and a lot of steaming turds.

MAJORTY of the games on this site lack immersion. And the ones that try real hard, get thrown shit at for not deliver enough lewd stuff fast enough.

I guess you never watched a porn clip, you need to watch a entire "feature porn" movie with an actual story right? Because you need context?

It's obviously too late now, but yes, an optimal situation from the very beginning would have been the Pandora system to not even exist.

Instead you got fewer (but longer) sex scenes, all linked to the story.

That's what Studio Fow is aiming for with the final reward of their "loyalty quests" but this will be only 1 cinematic for each girl.

My preference would be to have sex scenes always linked to the story and used as rewards for completing missions or reaching some point of the main quest.

It could be like :

- You recruit the girl : 1 sex scene
- You complete a side-quest mission related to the girl : 1 sex scene
- You reach a certain point of the main quest in which the girl is important : 1 sex scene

And so at the end it looks like maybe 5 (1 - 2 minutes) sex scenes for each girl instead of a huge numbers of loops. At the end you got the same amount of sex content, but it's just concentrated on fewer scenes.

Of course you get way less diversity regarding sex content, and it will be necessary to make choice for each girl. But it could also be a good way to reinforce the personality of each girl, like :

- Lily having 3 of her 5 scenes involving Mantic.
- Ela having mostly anal content
- Killission being on top on most of her sex scenes

So on, so on...

and you conclude the game with a 5 minutes reverse Gangbang scene involving the MC and his whole harem of course.

That would be my idea of how sex content should be implemented into the game.
Ya all the regular sex could have followed this route and that would have been a good thing.

I also wouldn't have minded having some encounters that you could unlock that might have been fetish aimed (anal, etc. as examples) where once unlocking it, an encounter would occur on the ship with the desired girl that would be for that specific fetish. Would have been a way to allow players to manage the in-universe canon when it came to what's happening sexually with the girls. SFOW could have then implemented the full NTR stuff (for example the famously described encounter with the Captain walking by the lab and hearing Lily getting railed by a monster) that some people really wanted without impacting people who just wanted stuff with the Captain.

I know that it's wishful thinking, that's way too late now. Too much of the game has been done yet.

That's why I hope loyalty quest will be a success.
I mean technically speaking they’re at 4.5, there’s still a long way to go to 1.0. Never know what could happen.

Damn :censored: This sounds so freakin obvious and simple, but the devs decided to go genius... Honestly it feels like SFOW guys never played any other h-games so they don't even comprehend such basic things.
Also yeah, I'd prefer less amount of sex scenes, but with at least some connection to the plot/quests/dialogues and with 2-3 additional camera angles instead of having tons of them most of which I skip because they either related to ntr or just use a shitty camera angle...
The angles are often the only way you can make a particular scene look good. It’d take a substantial amount more work to make scenes look good from multiple positions.

Not gonna get into the NTR debate (because there isn’t one, and I don’t feel like repeating myself again), but the variety of fetishes are there for the people that want it. If you don’t want to see them, fine, the filters are there, and they’re already scarcely mentioned in the story itself.

There are players that want the xeno content, and those that don’t, that’s understandable. But removing it would only harm the game. You have all the power to see it and none of it is shoved in your face as ‘unavoidable’

Don't know much about this game but is there any romance in the game or is it mostly just gangbangs and monster content?
As you use each gal in combat (DEMI as a non-combatant gains half of what each combat lady earns), they earn devotion points, every 10 levels unlocks a new conversation that delves into their characters and builds their relationship with the captain. This will eventually culminate in a devotion mission, a long questline similar to that of Mass Effect 2's loyalty quests. That will be capped off with a nice romantic cinematic love scene.

Sorry to ask, but is the monster content just like side stuff? I don't mind it either way, just curious as to how the game handles it's NSFW content. Also I see a lot of people complaining about NTR, is that like an unavoidable thing? Is it actual NTR or just the girls getting fucked by monsters?

You unlock scenes in Pandora if you want to watch it. Its optional. There is no NTR, the Mantics is being controlled by the girls. They are mindless drones. Little more than advanced dildos. The girls is their own individuals with their own decissions.

Still a lot of hard content, but regarding what studio fow produced over the year it is probably the most vanilla thing that you can find from them.

They even added in Taron's update a Yuri scene WITHOUT FUTA.

Okay, thanks was confused by the NTR tag and I saw that a lot of people seemed to have an issue with NTR in the game. Thanks for the help :)

So there aren’t any scenes with the playable character and the gals as of yet?

I know Joshua there answered, but figured I’d add more context. Yes there are animations with the captain and ladies. Each recruitment ends with a personal scene with the cap, which then unlocks their Pandora section. The current system (as they’re working on overhauling it), has it so every level of devotion (a bar alongside XP from combat) nets you a point (2 in later levels) that can be used in this system to unlock an animation for viewing. There are basic animations, and also premium ones with a speed bar and climax ending (premium meaning they just cost 1 more point, not a micro transaction xD).

Regarding NTR, it is not present in this game. Its tag is a very misinterpreted definition of the term, because the game does allow for romance dialogue (what I mentioned before) while also having scenes not with the captain. To properly explain this you’ll need a bit of story from the game.

The captain and the ladies he’s picking up (along with the mantics - creatures created by Lily the scientist of the crew), are attempting to overthrow the Imperium, a ruling class of celibate, mind controlling high-powered aliens. Their agenda is about controlling the depraved nature of sex, promoting abstinence and such. They’ve take such extreme measures as outlawing sex bots (DEMI, the one we have on our ship, is considered the last of her kind), forcing entires species to change their ways of life, and also attempting to genocide the Solars (humans who got to Prodigium through a black hole) once they’d established their own free fucking colony called Nu Vegas.

With that in mind, it’s not surprising that the crew of the Mary Celeste are very horny all the time. If anything their constant banging is like a big middle finger to what the Imperium represents. The mantics, as the Tree mentioned, are rather mindless creatures, controlled through a collar Lily calls the Dominus. Thus you can interpret their scenes with the ladies as them using a very large sex toy:devilish:.

Ironically the only time ‘cuck’ has been used in the game so far was against the initial boss, whom we obtained DEMI from.

I hope that properly answers your concerns, and you’ll possibly try the game out :)

You know, most likely the biggest critics of the game in this thread probably couldn't sum up the story as you did here.

You need to upgrade/unlock Mantics in the lab before you can unlock scenes with them in Pandora.
