‘the expectation of a somewhat complete product’ - you’re describing what they’re already doing, releasing the game in large portions at a time. Unless you’d have rather they drip feed you one or two missions, a planet to check, and one scene of dialogue a week.

Also what part of the higher tiers have they failed to meet? The community isn’t exactly starving for things to do, so demand for Studio 69 (which doesn’t add anything lewd remember) isn’t really high at all. Backer planets are in, whale scenes (the highest tier) are in. Everyone that backed got a key (with a ticketing system for those having issues). They unfortunately can’t do anything about countries’s laws, but they’re working on an alternative on the side.

All the while keeping the public updated to their progress on a monthly basis.

Now tell me about say Icstor, Milfy City, and how long that game went on for without an update before it eventually got abandoned.
Is just how the game released somewhat incomplete when it did and it seems like the adult part feels more tackled on than a coherent part of the gameplay as it should.

The game follow a story. If you look at the scenes in Pandora, hardly anything of that would fit into the story in regard of context. Random sex scenes doesn't need much context to it. It's like catch your mom and dad bumping ugly when you a kid. It just happen.. But inside a story arch, there is a need for context.

Yeah, it's been something that has been pointed out a lot. It's always disapoiting to see this game having such an obvious flaw that even a lot of shitty game here are able to avoid.

The majority of the scenes will feel that way because they are essentially occurring during the passage of time as the story progresses. Bear in mind Killi’s treasure hunt alone took weeks within the game’s story. That’s a lot of boning to occur just with 3 ladies on board. The ones that clearly will have the most effort put into them will be story based ones, I.e the recruitment scenes, and the devotion questline/climax

Uhm, if you check dev sallaries back in 2002 of when Never Winter nights was released. Ranging from 50k entry sallaries for art and up towards 90k for coders. NWN had a dev team of 60+ people. So you need to dig a bit deeper than 1.2m budget for that game.
Nope. Its (now ex-)Bethesda and Obsidian, they worked on modern day slavjank salaries till DAO and Fallout when it comes to game only expenses, much like how WC3 despite its massive success was. Big part of the reason why ex-Project Eternity now Pillars of Eternity 1s initial kickstarter ask was 1.1 was because thats the actual/in use minimum budget they made games like Pillars with before. In 03 you even had a few economics and general news magazines in US and Canada do interviews and the highest sum talked about "multi million expensive super games" was 6.3 mil which also covers 3 standalone games worth of content in expansions.

And either way since the far more modern example of Pillars 1 was still produced on close to same budget in less time (2 full and 3/4th of a year) and somehow managed to be less buggy despite the size of the project.

So basically the flaw it is wasn't released completed, which would make any game around here flawed then?
No, the flaw is having sex content disjointed from the storyline and used most of the time like a "bonus content".

So you rather want to remove all sex content not tied to the story itself? Because it does no sense to have the number of sex scenes currently in Pandora splattered into the story with no context. And it would make no sense what so ever to try make the story fit around all these scenes, or just turn the story into a clusterfuck of one lewd scene after the other. The purpose of these random scenes is just that random events taken place around the ship.

if this is part of the story as something that happens "in the background during the passage of time", i don't think this game is gonna hold my interest for long lol (not a fan of ntr stuff)

now if this is just something extra that was tossed in as a bonus, cool i guess.
You're on a space ship with the biggest sluts in the galaxy and you're complaining about degeneracy aboard your ship. I'm sorry but I think you've come to the wrong place. I can recommend you some very wholesome moeges though.

It's obviously too late now, but yes, an optimal situation from the very beginning would have been the Pandora system to not even exist.

Instead you got fewer (but longer) sex scenes, all linked to the story.

That's what Studio Fow is aiming for with the final reward of their "loyalty quests" but this will be only 1 cinematic for each girl.

My preference would be to have sex scenes always linked to the story and used as rewards for completing missions or reaching some point of the main quest.

It could be like :

- You recruit the girl : 1 sex scene
- You complete a side-quest mission related to the girl : 1 sex scene
- You reach a certain point of the main quest in which the girl is important : 1 sex scene

And so at the end it looks like maybe 5 (1 - 2 minutes) sex scenes for each girl instead of a huge numbers of loops. At the end you got the same amount of sex content, but it's just concentrated on fewer scenes.

Of course you get way less diversity regarding sex content, and it will be necessary to make choice for each girl. But it could also be a good way to reinforce the personality of each girl, like :

- Lily having 3 of her 5 scenes involving Mantic.
- Ela having mostly anal content
- Killission being on top on most of her sex scenes

So on, so on...

and you conclude the game with a 5 minutes reverse Gangbang scene involving the MC and his whole harem of course.

That would be my idea of how sex content should be implemented into the game.

A lot of the scenes currently in Pandora a lot of people doesn't want to watch. And they certainly wouldn't want it forced uppon them in the storymode. The same scenes is what some people expect from FOW based on their earlier work. Pandora offers you the benefit of unlock and watch additional lewd stuff based on your interest and fetish rather than get served up things you have no interest in. Imagine every lewd game and porn site you visited only served you fetish's and things you hated rather than give you a choice...

Some people approach the whole Mantic thing as they would with a hate for ntr, or whatever...
