So for the same reasons you would never pledge to or support a creator of any games on this site then that doesn't carry a "completed" tag? Because in reality all is early access with work in progress.

I got several early access games in my steam library. Some I'm less happy with than others. But none I truly regret I bought in the first place. There is way more creators of adult games I regret supporting on Patreon over time though. But doesn't keep me from giving new ones a fair chance.
IMO isn't buying the game from them WHEN it is finished and forking over the full price still supporting these same game designers?

at least it's infinitely better than just leeching off here in f95zone or any similar sites (No Offense to the majority of the people here..I am not completely blameless as well lol) and still complaining ad infinitum...

It's just that many people other than me aren't comfortable in putting money on something that may or may not be finished but would rather pay for something that is already completed?

I know Studio FOW is a stellar company when it comes to animations and I will support them for that but as a game designer? I am not confident enough for that especially seeing this is their first-ever foray into game development (those LoL-themed flash games don't count though IMO).

So to answer your question: NO...I don't do Early Access as a matter of principle...give me the finished product with most if not all the issues sorted out I'll happily pay for it even it costs some limbs...

Just think its double standards when shooting down Subverse for going early access on steam at 30 bucks. When at same time you have creators on patreon that have tiers ranging up to that level a month. Early access doesn't equal scam. Imho, releasing their game as early access on steam hold them more accountable than some creator on patreon that might take your pledges for months at end, and end up stiff you the finger.

Lets face it majority of those that wouldn't want to pledge to a creator on patreon, wouldn't want to pay up front for a full release if it hit steam either.

If people want to take the high road, that's fine, but better have the recites to show for then.

.
Now that's just generalizing too much...it's almost saying sites like this one are enabling the leechers more and not the people who really will support a game but are averse to EAG...

are we the bad guys now because some of us don't want to support something we are not sure about?

there are still a lot of people who can go the high road and buy the game full price though...

I hope I don't need to show everyone here my purchase history on Steam lol...that will surely open up another can of worms in this volatile thread...

that's why I won't comment much on this game other than the small observations I got from getting the 0.1 version here since I did not ''support'' it by purchasing its early access price...I feel I don't have a right of an opinion on a game especially when it's still in its formative phase...I'll do that when I've played the final retail version...

In the end, Hope=Best;Expect=Worst for this game...

Just finished playing through the build, its well done, not buggy, fun at times and not very much H content overall as everyone has pointed out.
That being said, it is very much not a scam at all. People always get mixed feelings about kickstarter campaigns for games, because normally we arent made aware of how chaotic, time-and money-consuming gamedevelopement really is. with this game having functional shmup and grid-combat mechanics, cutscenes and all, i think its a small miracle that everything somewhat holds together after 2 years of work from people who arent veterans. Some people seem to think that with 2m$ you could do ANYthing when in fact, it really is a very small budget for this kind of production.
Still, its not exacly a product worth 30$ atm, but if I could I'd buy it just to see where things go from here.
Would've prefered if they had spend their resources more exclusively on H-Scenes though. The whole "its a real game with porn" thing is interesting, yea, but we dont exactly have excessive supply of high-profile "pure" porn games in the west.

Look, I'm not a hater or anything but I'd be pretty fucking deluded not to see the whole thing going through the motions. I really want the game to be completed, but it's looking more and more like one of those scams. The tide of fanboys who have to personally apologize for every post that is short of praising the ground the devs walk upon while assuring them that they can take all the time in the world for their updates. In fact if the next update comes in a century that would be too soon, their bones would be unworthy. Those are the first symptom of the failure and while it's not under the dev's control (make no mistake, they love fanboys) the fact that they are starting to make excuses, that the work is too hard even if they got a small fortune, miles better than they could have hoped for, the updates are small and far in between. Not a peep from them for two weeks. That kind of silence is odd if nothing else.

Anyway, I hope I'm wrong, I hope that's me being overly negative but from something from the graveyard of scam games which is quite huge, tells me I'm not.
I'll do my best to address thine concerns:

"The tide of fanboys who have to personally apologize for every post that is short of praising the ground the devs walk upon while assuring them that they can take all the time in the world for their updates"

Us explaining that game development takes awhile is not being an apologist, nor does it make us fanboys. Game development is hard. That's just a fact. And having a 'fortune', which by AAA standards isn't much, doesn't mean that much when its going right back into hiring devs and working on the game.

"Not a peep from them for two weeks. That kind of silence is odd if nothing else."

From their November diary, last year:

- Dev diaries are going to switch to a once-a-month format since we are going to be focusing heavily on development from here forward.

Their last update was as you said 2 weeks ago:

Meaning their one monthly update has been done. If there isn't a peep from them its cuz...well it should obvious. They're working on the game. Bear in mind they are a small team, there's no marketing department, no public figure to constantly talk to us. Staff only rarely appear in the discord, and its very brief when they do.

I understand the fear and frustration of projects that linger forever or just leech money, but there's two reasons why Subverse isn't gonna be that. A) its not on Patreon, so there's no monthly income. There's also no additional way to support the game's development at this point other than buying it. So they're working with what they got unlike say Star Citizen, which took in tons more money after its backing, leading to endless feature creep.

And B), and this is really the bigger point. FOW, in all their years of making smut, has never failed to deliver a project once its been revealed. Even a lawsuit from Blizzard did not stop them from releasing Coliseum of Lust. They'll do what they say they'll do, because they've already established that reputation.

Patreon and Steam Early-Access are two different beasts.

Patreon is meant to be a subscription-funded site. You act as a "patron" to the artist and fund his works.
The promise of work isn't guaranteed; that's why so much of the focus is on "goodwill."
Creators can promise things, but patrons should expect that nothing is "owed" in the classical sense.

Early Access is different, you are buying into the game with the guarantee of a product.
Since you were promised a product, and the product was terrible, you have some legitimate grievances.
If you present trash, then customers will be upset because customers are much less forgiving than patrons as a whole. They aren't here to buy ideas, they want something more tangible.

Pretty much just rendered videos and a simple shooter game in between.

At 17+ GB, this game seriously sucks shit with a straw. The arcarde part is much like the old "Asteroids", except that game would fit within about 16 KB and was actually funnier.

This is a waste of space. The sex scenes aren't even interactive (other than a speed or cum choice). And there's a lot of dialogue, which is kinda funny, but they need to set a path. Is this for the sex (BOMB!) or for the fun (BOMB!)?

This game bombs because it wants to do both.

Oh sure, as if you coudn't release EA, cash in, overnight turn it to full release and abandon it. Sure. So accountable.

And what gives you idea that they are telling truth if they want to scam you? Beside that wasen't my point, my point was that EA dose not assure of anything.
Neither does living and go outside your door. Only thing in life that is certain is death and taxes.

Telling the truth in what? Hire new people? Calling back voice actors for more work etc. It's all things easy to check.

You are a scammer yourself. You scam people into believe things that you can't know or verify is true.

Your hyperbole are getting ridiculous. Neither you have any insight in this project, yet you defend it like some religious madman.

And what insight do you have that back up your claims of it being a scam where they run off with the money? Only time will tell, but so far every indication point towards them working on the game. If you got any facts or evidence of them running a scam, you have the recites that back you up right? Or is it just wind blowing out of your ass?

Simple, they already took the money and EA release which should be representative of game is utter garbage.

What the game is or isn't. Is your opinion. Opinions is cheap, they like assholes, everyone got them.

Took the money how? As in use the money to fund production of the game? Spend it on hookers and blow? I suppose you got the hard facts and recites to show for?
