Factually wrong. If the ice cream man gives you a strawberry ice cream and he swears for his life that it is chocolate, it doesn't make it chocolate. Ever heard about "death of the author"? It doesn't matter what you, as an author of anything, conceive it as, it's what people perceive it as what will define it because the author doesn't live in a bubble, especially when he shares his work with the world, it's up to the world to judge it, and if the artist can't properly convey what he meant to do, then that's mostly his problem, not everyone else's.
It's seen in all sorts of media, particularly music, where a songwriter writes, say, a song inviting you to reflect on a delicate subject, but everyone takes it as a party song because it has a catchy tune or it's just popular. Doesn't erase the original message, but sure as hell most people won't care.
Just my two cents as to why this thread is tagged as ntr. If you as a public figure has been doing monster on women porn and promised to have lots of that in your game, that's how people will perceive you even if you changed course mid-way.
