Ehhh... Idk about that. While I agree the people saying "the game play sucks" are wrong. The game play is pretty decent and engaging. The big issue with the game is it's supposed to be a smut game, or more sex focused game which is what it was sold to be. While the game play is nice, it's nothing I can't get from other much better games with the same game play. And as an adult game, it's severely lacking. While I'm happy to hear that they have made some improvements to how you interact with the girls, it sounds like they still have a ways to go. I would much rather play an Illusion game like koikatsu than this if I want an adult experience where I can actually get to know the girls over time then have sex with them in multiple ways. (Or play moded Skyrim). And if I want to play a turn based strategy game, I'll stick with battletech or xcom.
But you are getting to know the girls over time, as you use them in combat, level up their devotion, then speak to them. Each of them delve into their past, how it affected them and what they’re feeling. They also have fresh conversations every time you bring on a new team member.
We learn DEMI is experiencing an existential crisis, even volunteering to have her memories erased because she thinks that’ll help her aid the captain better.
Lily discusses her military career, doctor’s work, and the motherly connection she feels towards her creations.
Killi talks about her home planet’s destruction and how she ended up as a pirate, including nearly become a nun of all things.
Elaisha speaks of her desire to be the biggest slut possible and how her race went about suppressing her freedom.
Taron talks about her fascination with tech, and how her people ended up shaming her for it.
Sova regales the tale of getting her weapon and the societal pressures of being a princess.
The stories are there, you just have to do a lot more than skip through a daily cycle of talking to them.
