imo, quantity-wise, they delivered. It has decent gameplay, story and smut. I kept seeing ppl reiterating its a game with smut in it than a smut with a game in it. In that sense, fow delivered. Even the "40 minutes" of devotion cinematic was accounted for.
Now if we talk quality, I'd say it's a tamer version of studiofow smut. Even the devotion scenes are vanilla.
rn i just wish they earned enough money to start making smut movies again. I appreciate them taking the time on making a good space shooter (?) as well as good turn-based combat tho.
PS: didnt finish the game. i still have 3-4 girls that i needed to grind PP. Downloaded save posted here so i can move on.

The main problem that pretty much everybody pointed is that the smut is not related to the story, and lacks interactions--ironic for a GAME. The smut is just a scene viewer without dialogue.

Tbf, most 'games' on here are also glorified slideshows. In that sense, FOW probably delivered better than the broad average of porn games. But it's also not the most amazing thing ever.
I personally can take or leave the interactivity in the scenes. It's enough to wank either way.

Obligatory Black Souls mention, but also Demon Roots and Memoirs of a Battle Brothel. Examples of full on games that have the H-Scenes directly tied to the story and are made way better cause of it.
None of the games I'm referring to have even gotten close to how much money this game got in the kickstarter and none of what I'm referring to is even remotely hard to do. Also studiofow could have started a subscribestar or just get subscription money otherwise if they wanted via other means. You also act like this game was developed fast, it just wasn't. It should also be noted, I'm guessing they also got money from people buying this on steam also. So this whole well they didn't have patreon money falls completely flat as an argument on they basic story integration, with dialogue couldn't exist regarding the porn with options like no, I don't want want to be pegged my dear etc etc. Which is a very common thing you see in various japanese porn games and western porn game posted here. This isn't rocket science, this is basic gameplay that people have been doing for quite literally decades on budgets smaller than what these devs had.
You can say oh well I'm happy with what I got. That doesn't negate anything above or any of the criticism when other games do this easily with less money and staff than these guys have. Often being one man shows.
The arguments defending the game-play stuff are so amazing bad that its baffling. No one has anything that amounts to a good defense, probably because its indefensible.

And if they did I’d be willing to bet the game would still be in development and there’d be comments today saying they’re were milking it (which they’ve done in the past) or that it’d never get get finished (which they’ve also done in the past).
The size of the budget isn’t the point, it’s that there’s a difference in development when you know there’s money coming monthly and when you have a hard cap. It changes your plans.
you can edit your save file by going to Steam\userdata(ID)\1034140\remote (shout out denmarkvcl for that info) and then taking that file, adding .sav ot the end of the file name then using save editor, changing what you want, download it, change it back to a file type file be deleting the .sav and put it back into the folder it came from

I dont usually comment because im a lurker, most of the things i consume here are things i didnt pay for, so my opinion on things are limited.
Subverse is probably one of those porn games that i played for the game than the porn aspect, its fun, smut is the icing in the cake, they did a really good job.
Degenerate in me kept on hoping for more "scenes" and gameplay with Lily and her Manticores, like Mantics would be able to be spliced and newer hybrids were created and "experimented" by Lily with the help of other crew members.
I have rooted for Dalick to get laid and have some scenes too, and Celestina.

Why not at least name any NLT game, since that's closer to what FOW has done (animated sex) than the still scenes of the RPGmaker games you just named. Ah, probably the lack of rape.

Memoirs of a Battle Brothel 's scenes are all animated. No rape in it either.
Yeah i dont buy early access games anyway. I didnt follow this outside the initial launch (which wasnt great) so i never bought it. I was waiting for sale during Early access, never saw one so im gonna wait until its on sale (much less than the OG price) to buy it as i do with most games that are good and appear here.
The game don't have much personality behind girls. I mean, the best feature is that they are well designed and voiced, but everything else is super forgettable and can be said in one sentence.
They could have written more content in that regard making devotion quests longer, consisting of multiple smaller stage quests, tie it up with scenes from pandora and add context to porn.

I'm out of the loop here. I've heard of this game before, but never really paid attention to it until now.
Can someone please give a run down on why it seems people seem so angry and negative towards this game? I am genuinely curious, because I have no idea why.

To put it simply, game have good character design, marvelous voicing job, tidious plot, very tiresome marvel-like adult humor, and normal gameplay. But most of porn content is absolutely out of game flow. You have to go to a certain submenu, and there watch short clips without any context or setup.
Imagine playing something like overwatch but then mid game alt-tabing into pornhub and watching some porn.
