Nothing wrong with using prebought assets. Those are amazing models.
Just don't bullshit and claim there's a "design philosophy behind them." Full of shit and trying to take someone else's credit for their hard work.

Uh, design philosophy I would found to be use assets suitable and fitting for the gameplay. Like, not have fucking mario carts in a space shooter, plush animals and whatever.

I'm quite sure those fuckbots, dildo/dick ships, boob/vagina ships etc wasn't bought in any asset store...

You are probably right, after all drawing penises is something we learn during our time at primary school in notebooks.

And I agree, it was a very good choice they didn't use assets for Mario Cart or horses in armors in space combat. That's a praiseworthy philosophy indeed.

Actually, those "fuckbot" models/ships is better than anything I can draw, so I challenge you to draw better :ROFLMAO:
I didn't draw much penises and such in primary school, because back then teachers actually could be scary af.... and getting wrapped over the hands with a wooden ruler was not really desired..

I design reactors, not draw dicks for a living. Again, the "do better" argument. "Your keyboard broke after 2 weeks of using? Do better". "Food in our restaurant looks 10 times worse than in our menu? Do better". People have right to expect quality when paying for something and criticizing something doesn't require proficiency in the field. I wouldn't stay for long in my field if I would say "do better" when someone expects me to alter something.

Found it, Dev Diary 22, 28 May 2020.
Well, hang on, what you're showing is a little different from what IG88a is claiming. We know that many of the models are pre-made assets that were either free (there's even an in-game joke about it) or purchased, IG88a is specifically claiming the ground combat mechanic is also a pre-made module from the store rather than something the programmers StudioFOW hired made from scratch.

Honestly, I can't take the accusation seriously because he's being way too hyperbolic about it. I don't doubt that he's encountered a bug with it, but he hasn't actually presented any proof or explained why he thinks his case makes it fundamentally irrecoverable.

Well so far I'm okay with the game but, I can't seem to get past the Drilldildozer 69,000 mission, after I destroy it, the characters talk and then the game stops responding, still hear the music but the game just freezes anyone else with a similar problem??? 1618053686327.png

Right there it just stops responding.

Tried waiting.
Tried not waiting and switched tabs.
PC is decent.
No other parts of the game have any issues prior to this.
Didn't try replaying the game again because I'm hoping someone has a save just beyond this point so I can continue playing.

There was a patch on steam that addressed various bugs... I guess maybe this one of them.......

The only bug I found was when defending that station and the EMP never did discharge. After the 3rd or 4th attempt it did though.

It wasn't about "do better" it was about, those fuckbot models... You don't buy them or find them as free assets, that is made inhouse... If they use a mix of free or store bought assets combined with their own, who the fuck care as long as it all fit in the theme of the game. Or "Design philosophy" if the need arise to use grand words.

If you do design reactors for a living, I suppose you know something about cost of projects etc as well then. Or at least educated enough to know how the real world work in regard of running costs, wages, etc.

This game is perfect and flawless. The devs are undercharging. It should be 70.00$ because it's one of the if not the best adult games currently on the market.

*sigh*

If only studio FOW focused on hiring game designers first than the voice actors...

also, I think using recycled assets as part of their ''game design'' for the game... I mean they make the in-game baddies self-aware that they are assets used in shovelware porn game...

So I don't think SFOW would be apologetic for their ''creative choices''...

I don't know anything about it, I just wanted to show that indeed Studio FOW used premade assets in game, but I didn't meet anyone else who was claiming ground combat mechanic is a premade module. I didn't play EA to not spoil anything for myself before final build, so can't help you with that. I just showed that premade assets are indeed used in the game, but I don't know how many and where.

Also there were claims here base models for characters were ripped from Honey Select or something like that showing some proofs for it, but I didn't understand anything from that proofs because I am bad at this stuff. That would be big if proven right.

How can you say it wasn't about "doing better" when you specifically said " I challenge you to draw better ".

They did though? Not all of them are public though, because some don't exactly want to flash this on their resume, as adult content in general isn't really accepted in the usual industry.

sigh, as you said you didn't play the game above... There is a faction called "fuckbots" in the game, its like how to put it... imagine a mix of the Reavers from Firefly, and The borg from startrek. They want to sexually assault you and I guess ASSimilate you. So their spaceships more like flying dicks, boobs and and vags... You was the one that brought up drawing penis's in primary school, not I...

This I knew, they showed some designs in KS updates.

So any way to get past this bug I have? Or to wait for the next update? No way of save transfering or something?

Side note, this argument about reused assets is really just pointless. like its there, we already knew from the dev diaries. What matters is how they use them, and many people appear to like the space combat, so I'd say they're used well (and we've only seen 3 factions so far).

If reusing things was a problem, then every game that uses RPGMaker as a base would be considered lazy.

Oh, I was the one who asked for proof and what was presented was absolutely not proof at all, in fact the person making the claim didn't even bother playing the game, so they were making a very serious accusation based on hearsay, what appeared to be a personal grudge with Studio FOW's modeler, and a complete ignorance of what their own proof was actually showing.

Just to go into a bit more detail than my initial rebuttal to that post, the UV Map is a 2D representation of a 3D model's surface that's made by basically choosing where you want to cut up a model and "unwrapping" it; the only similarity between the Subverse UV Map and Honey Select UV Map was how the modeler chose to cut up the arms and body/legs, but virtually nothing else was the same. The Subverse UV Map had far more vertices (represented by all those lines you see), it had several additional meshes that the Honey Select model didn't have (for example, the vagina is a separate mesh in Subverse, but in Honey Select it's a part of the body and has much lower mesh density because Illusion never intended it to be seen past a mosaic), and proportions on certain parts are immediately recognizable as different (you can see in the UV Maps that Subverse's hands are actually like hands, while Honey Select's look like fingers sprouting out of the forearm).

Now it's still possible that it's a heavily edited Honey Select model, but there are programs that can compare two models and tell you how many similarities there are and literally nobody's claimed to have done this analysis.
