WTF... Those who attack you in the FOREST steal your money??

How disappointing win 100 money and lose it like that. The game FORCES YOU to go to the Reward before visit the Forest again to end losing it
Is there a way to get the money back or to spend it before losing it?

The character who stole it helped you for Free later... So probably it does no matter..

Is not like I saw FOR NOW the money too useful in the game. I wasted it in the Church Girl and in the Angel quest and is not like I need to buy weapons or anything to see it important.

What is the BEST give the Black Pearl to the Succubis or return it???

I tried the return option but apparently is a waste of time unless I am missing something.. It seems better idea give it to the succubus girls.

dokancreations, first of all get well.
Second. I don't think you should invest a lot of money and time in such game. The only guys who get good profits from rpgm femdom games now are Bo Wei and Koda and it took them 2-3 years to start gaining ok. Dekarous and Tearycyan are getting ok too. But they definitely don't invest all their free time and free money in their games (especially Koda). There are a lot of other Devs who (because of different reasons) produce their games for a long time but don't gain that much: jinjonkun, saltysai, taco7, banished, netralgd, etc. It's not like if you make a good game it will definitely shoot and make you a fortune. People usually start doing a game in their free time and on their own. Do that for months or years, get better, establish fanbase and only then they start gaining money. And consistency is the most important thing for a decent game.
Voice in a game is a nice touch, but it's not that important, especially for a new project, especially when it gives you that much trouble. The only thing worth commissioning is art. And usually one cheap static picture or a coupe of them for a scene is just as good as animation.
Try going low investment both on money and time for a year or so and see if profits allow you to improve something.
Also a big thing people disregard are ads. For example Tot and Femdom University got a huge patreon boost after people started posting gameplay videos on porn sites. But it (usually) only works with a stable games with regular updates. You make a great game, but if you would try to continue harming your health and life doing unnecessary things in a game 50-100 people would play, you are doomed to repeat what happened this autumn.

I get having voice actresses is nice but really this is a good reason to have the game script finished first. Recasting is expensive and doing it multiple times for 1 character is sheer madness even for a large company.

Lower expectations until you get a good work/life management. Hand drawn animation is nice but it reminds me of South Park and their first episode as sometimes it's really cheaper to let a computer handle the heavy lifting which is why a lot of Ren'Py games use 3d engines to do things. Hopefully you make a full recovery with time.

!?
New post.
I may be a little late to the party, but I just finished reading the public Patreon statement. What a bummer! However, burning out was quite predictable: Trying to cater to too many unique fetishes, programming/writing, voice acting and working with unreliable actresses—that would take a toll on everyone. Nonetheless, dokancreations I wish you all the best!

That is so sad to hear. Burnout is horrible and balencing many different fetishes can get... Complicated (See: Domina). As for the unreliable VAs, I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. The VA was the thing that set Succubus Crest apart even from the other great succubus games on here. I really hope he gets back into the swing of things, even if he needs to take a month off to regroup. Just so long as he remains in contact with his supporters, I think the fanbase will show some understanding.

If a game thrives or fails, starts when choosing the engine. From a technical perspective, RPGM isn't the best choice. As an anecdote, devs like Redikal and TwistedScarlett regretted picking that engine due to technical difficulties later. In terms of inclusivity, RPGM was created with Windows in mind and not for Mac- or Linux-based systems, unlike Renpy. Yes, some people prefer to play their h-games on these OSes. When selecting RPGM you artificially limit yourself, which—from an economic perspective—is stupid if you're new to the scene and desperately need funding. Moreover, letting the unique fetishes run wild was Dokan's second-biggest problem. They should've picked and limited themselves to a handful of fetishes, where there's a demand for and that fit the game. Quality over Quantity! Most people like their Vanilla stuff and aren't necessarily into NTR, Femdom, or hairjobs. Try to cater to too many unique fetishes, and you'll be in development hell. Regarding the voice-acting. Never implement VA from the start because stuff will eventually change during development. Finish the game first; afterward, you can still decide whether you want to implement it or not. Furthermore, voice-acting is nice to have but isn't a necessity. Most voice actresses are unreliable. There's a considerable demand for ASMRtists, and they'll primarily work for whoever pays more. It doesn't shock me that Dokan's VAs started ghosting him shortly after. They got paid, someone probably made a better offer, and they decided it wasn't worth their time working with Dokan. My two cents. Sorry for the essay, LoveHurts.

EDIT: Remember that voice-acting is expensive, especially if you're at the start of your dev career, don't have a substantial financial budget and just started accumulating fans who monetarily support you.

RPGM engine, despite its flaws, has one huge bonus — it doesn't require a lot of arts. Good portion of game (e g maps, towns, characters' actions) can be shown through built in gameplay mechanics. And dev can concentrate on doing scenes. That is especially important for drawn art. Now a lot of ren py games are made with computer rendered art exactly because of that. You need to do backgrounds, char sprites with variations, unimportant scenes etc. For example even for the beginning of this game Dokan would have to draw scenes for witch prologue, events at home, tavern, forest etc. RPGM lets you get rid of unnecessary pictures. That's why it's so popular.

Valid argument. Overall, it's a delicate balancing act, and, in my opinion, the flaws outweigh the bonuses. You can tell that Dokan had a lot of passion for their game, but ambitions set too high and failed.

Let's hope they'll be back one day.

It actually requires a shit ton of art along with other assets though fan communities can be rather helpful with that.

Just assuming a prebuilt engine has everything a dev could want downplays the effort they put in to it.

That is especially important for drawn art. Now a lot of ren py games are made with computer rendered art exactly because of that.
Custom drawn art does have it's own unique look but on the budget apps like Koikatu! can crank things out much faster for less money, hell even free minus labor if pirated ;) A big plus for drawn art though is reduced file size as you can separate the characters from the backgrounds unlike slide show games.

You need to do backgrounds, char sprites with variations, unimportant scenes etc.
Background are somewhat overrated, take any game that uses Koikatu as they all have practically the same house with the same bathroom :KEK: The joys of an over saturated market...

For example even for the beginning of this game Dokan would have to draw scenes for witch prologue, events at home, tavern, forest etc. RPGM lets you get rid of unnecessary pictures. That's why it's so popular.
That and it requires less training then bigger engines, less expensive as many devs do want to be legit in the dream of making it big someday, and with a decent fan community art assets are easier to come by with many aspiring artists just wanting their name added to the credits.

Overall Dokan gave a good run. They should have reduced the scope to match budget for their first rodeo, voice acting is nice but implementing after the script is written and proofread would have saved a massive amount of funds along with made it easier to standardize. Anti-Piracy is hard and if Disney can't pull it off a small fry Indie shouldn't waste time on it, better focus on making a game people would happily throw money at instead of blue ball people with paywalls. Staggering their releases was better as it doesn't make some fans angry and less angry fans are more likely to toss money not tomatoes.
