Do you have any recommendation but for VN ? Instead of Translator++ of course
VNs are very different from RPGM because they can each have their own engine.

There are some very common VN engines like kirikiri and ren'py, but ultimately, you would need to figure out the game engine for the specific VN you are working with, unpack the archived assets using a game engine specific tool, parse out the translatable dialogue from the files, and then put everything back together again.

The tool to extract and sometimes repack assets for VNs that I would recommend is , but that alone does not help you translate them, only extract assets and figure out the game engine. Once the translatable strings are extracted, the strings can be translated using Sugoi Toolkit or my repackage and then inserted back using whatever tool you used to extract the translatable dialogue.

Translator++ is not very good at translating VNs since the parser it uses is not very customizable, it relies on regex which can have a lot of unintended effects, and it de-duplicates lines which, in VNs, tend to be in a particular order for a reason since they present lines that must be in the same order as the VN to retain their context. That means using external parsers when using T++ since the internal ones are bad, but even then, using T++ for translation is not possible since the output does not match the input at all or it alters stuff that it must not alter due to the regex running over the entire file instead of in a controlled way.

For anyone interested, Sugoi 9.5 was released recently. 9.4->9.5 contains a bug fix for the server software that makes it compatible with batch translations again.

As always, please get it on on the 15-16th of every month. .

Edit: Updated link to v9.5.4.

What about it? It is archived software (no longer supported), that has a ton of bugs. I think I had it work on one game for me? But I had to compile it from source and adjust the source code which makes me think that reverse engineering the script manually would have been a better way to go. I cannot recommend it except as a last resort after everything else has failed.

The model is just called "Sugoi v4", "Sugoi v4 offline model", " ", or "Sugoi v4 NMT". NMT is an acronym for , not specifically part of the model name.

Guys, I want to ask, can sugoi translator work with LunaTranslator(as the main tool to show the translation) instead of textractor (for offline translator)?

NGL, I kinda hook with Lunatranslator UI atm and I want to use that. Yes, Lunatranslator already gave an option to download offline translator for Sugoi (.bat file), but the problem was, using that takes 1+ second to translate each text. So I wonder if I can make it work if I use sugoi translator instead.

Sorry if my question confusing..

=============================================================

nevermind, I got jebaited by this 1730332615400.png

I thought because the port was different, I need to change the port in Lunatranslator too. Turn out, I didn't need to change it. Just use the default one, and run the server, and BAM!! Its working..

Now the offline translation faster than before and it didn't eat too much memory compare to sugoi that presented by Lunatranslation..

Anyone got the cuda to work? I ran the install script, but if I try to use offline translation, some of the 10 or so terminal windows have errors and the translation doesn't happen.
Works fine if I set the device back to "cpu".

Not sure if it's the right way of doing it but copying the contents of the zip that gets downloaded (cudart-llama-bin-win-cu12.2.0-x64.zip) on the GPU_INSTALLATION_INSIDE folder and pasting to CUDA bin folder (default installation location is "C:\Program Files\NVIDIA GPU Computing Toolkit\CUDA\v11.8\bin" version number is subject to change) has made it work for me.

install script in v9 works fine for me.
included install script in v8 was broken/not properly working. you may look for a working one on his discord.

I'm using v9, so it's not that issue.
I'll try the suggestion in the other comment... Not that the speed without is bad, I'm just wondering why it doesn't work.

This seems to have worked. Thanks!

Is there an easy way to close all the terminal windows/etc. Sugoi opens after you are done?
