You've summed up my point of view pretty well. I'm going to continue creating the game as I think it should be, and the parts that might be more controversial or non-vanilla will can be skipped. I am working on the beach scene to finish the second day in the story, as soon as I have it ready I will release a small update with the new content, and in the part of April's flashback there will be the option to choose whether to see it complete or just one therapy talk. I will do it like this also in future controversial scenesExactly this, and when the haters get loud, remind yourself of it.
There is absolutely no way you will ever make everyone happy and, imho, you shouldn't try. In the small amount of time I have spent on this site (comparatively) I have seen way to many devs try to please everyone and end up either destroying, or abandoning, their projects.
Since I have no talent for creating things like this, I tend to shy away from giving advice, but I will say this much:
1 - Stick to the story you want to tell. Some people will get pissed, some won't, but the story will be better for it and a solid fanbase will arrive.
2 - Keep any non-vanilla surprises to the barest minimum, or give the skip option. People will still bitch that it happened, but there is nothing you can do about that. As you have discovered, people can get rather....vocal....about things they personally do not like. Add whatever you like, or at least whatever you need to for the story, just keep yourself mentally prepared for the inevitable 'screaming' from it.
Anyway; thats my opinion (for whatever it is worth).
Good Luck! I'm looking forward to seeing more of this project.
Girl will be boys, and boys will be girl.Umm....OK, just started playing this story, and I'm wondering does Lola have a penis?
I sure hope not.
Slowly raises hand...Has anyone managed to successfully smack one off to this game? I was too busy convulsing in a fit of hysterical laughter over the cheesy music to even try.
Yes, that's the idea, the controversial content will be skippableit's been said over and over at this point but don't change the game, just make stuff optional and I'm pretty sure everyone will be happy
Skippable doesn't mean anything if it still is canon to the story.the controversial content will be skippable
That will be goodYes, that's the idea, the controversial content will be skippable
I agree but, but from the Overview:Skippable doesn't mean anything if it still is canon to the story.
I don't know how many girls with mental health issues you know, but in my experience, quite a few of them have some kind of story giving insight into why they have these issues.you are assigned to 'Beaver Falls', a camp for teenage girls with mental health issues
In game music in any game is annoying as fuck.Has anyone managed to successfully smack one off to this game? I was too busy convulsing in a fit of hysterical laughter over the cheesy music to even try.
Checking the comments paid off. I think I will wait for that to pick this up again, my finger was getting tired from button mashing.April's flashback there will be the option to choose whether to see it complete or just one therapy talk.
I turn off music in all the ones i play, it's distracting, and 90% of the time the music doesn't fit what's happening in the game anyway, the same with the sounds, unless they fit/sound good for what's happening, i turn those off as wellIn game music in any game is annoying as fuck.
Thank you, as you well say, the main concept of the game will not change, and everything that appears in the story will be canon, simply, for those who enjoy the game, but do not want to see the girls with other men than MC,That will be good
it's your game, make it how you want to.
i see a comment that it being skippable doesn't mean anything if it's still canon, but whats the point of including it if it isn't canon lol, i say don't worry about that stuff
if they don't like the game, it's easy enough to go find a different game to play and not worry about this one
good job dev keep it up
