This is an interesting theory. I agree with the suggestion that Shawn and Clair were a couple once, perhaps even married, and maybe that does explain some of Mr. Miller's quirks (no riding in the front seat)... However the flour seems like a bit of a stretch. This flour company pre-dates independence (1771 AD). If the company were to be owned or operated by Shawn Miller in some way, it would probably be part of the story.
