Man, the new game from Impy sounds like it goes way too hard on the futa fetish. Guess it's not for people like me.

It sounds like more characters will slowly be added, but yeah the first couple of releases look like they'll be pretty futa filled. Like the MCs mom. Looks like there'll be a fair bit of futa on male or futa on futa too, but oh well the people have spoken

Honestly pretty weird considering it's a theme in all the games and pretty much the only sexual interactions as well. Futa doesn't really work well as the character being stolen or stolen from imo.

Had a re-look at the poll and Impy's comments for you and I can clear things up:

Monster Monsoon basic premise is, you are the protag, you select a mercenary companion who will help you to escort people through monster infested lands. These people you escort will attempt to flirt and fuck your selected companion. So in Impy's Language:

Protag: The Person you play as.
Companion: The mercenary you pay to help you escort the rivals
Rivals: Clients who you will protect while they try to flirt and fuck your companion.

Protag: Currently it will be a choice (confirmed by Impy) between a futa mage or a wolf boy.
Companion: Top two are a female witch who might be the protag's mother and a futanari sword master.
Rival: Current top two are a futa fortune teller who might be your sister and a Dark Elf postman who looks suspiciously like a Shota.

No, no I was making a joke. Look I was saying that the game was futa filled, right? As in there are a lot of futa characters in it. Then I said 'like the MCs mom'. The implication that I was trying to make was that the mom was filled with futas, as in they were banging her, not that the mom was herself a futa. It'd be a lot funnier if I didn't have to explain it, trust me

I understood it. It looks so far that two futa sisters are competing to fill their mum with cum first, or maybe at the same time if the vote holds as it is now.

That cute insect girl reminds me to the "Little Bug" companion in Monster Girl Quest Paradox, which I also found really cute and was one of my favorite companions by the way.

So I may be one of the people that would be unironically happy if she gets in the game

If the protag is a wolf boy, would that make the witch and fortune teller wolf girls too? Or they are just not related in that scenario?
And what an unusual batch of rivals! No classics like the fat bastard or a goblin. The bug girl I can sort of imagine using her abdomen to penetrate, or laying eggs in the companions. And the rich girl uses toys I guess? But I really don't see how she could be a romantic rival.
As for companions, quite disappointing how the "girl next door but with a dick" is higher than all the other unique choices.

From her comments I think she will be adding in stages. the top votes in each category are 100% in. As well as the choice of MC which she has confirmed between the wolf boy and the futa mage. From that I assume she will also put in the top two of the rival and companion sicne she's confirmed that for the protag. As for the others she has said that she can put them as side characters.

Impy did say in the replys that she'll be working on another game not long after this one starts and Summer Sweepers ends, and she'll be looking to make sure the character list is quite different

Can only voice my agreement with how generic the winning entries are. Such a shame, a lot of other types of characters could really make the game special. I suppose it's the safe route that has been picked. None of them are a deal breaker but I feel that a lot of them are really simillar in concept.

She will be creating ending art, but it's at the bottom of her priorities at the moment, probably around the last update in February.
